“There will be no large change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) over the districts of Odisha during the next 4-5 days,” the IMD said.

Rain may occur in many interior and coastal districts under the impact of the western disturbance between March 7 and 10.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a ‘yellow warning’ for dense fog in several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

Along with the western disturbances, an induced cyclonic circulation lies over central Pakistan & adjoining West Rajasthan.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that several parts of Odisha will witness above-normal maximum (day) temperature.

The system is likely to move gradually west-northwest over southwest Bay of Bengal and reach near Sri Lanka coast during subsequently three days.

The IMD has issued a ‘yellow warning’ for dense fog in several parts of the State in the next 48 hours.

Due to the blanket of fog, morning traffic was affected with the visibility dropping to below 100 metres. Four and two-wheelers were seen moving along the city roads with fog lights on. 

Night temperature is expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

Keeping the severity of the cyclone in view, a holiday for schools and colleges has been declared in several districts of Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, IMD’s Regional Centre today predicted light to moderate rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the coming days.

The weather bureau has also shared the forecast track and intensity of the probable cyclonic storm.

The people here have braced themselves to tackle the wrath of winter. India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday informed that Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.5 degree Celsius on Saturday.

The IMD said a low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood today (November 16, 2022).

As per IMD’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar, the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperature of 20 and 19.4 degree C, respectively.
