The Khordha Collector is instructed to form a committee and carry out the renovation, reclamation, and restitution of the excavated areas with the penalty amount.
Besides the revenue loss, the illegal operations at the said quarry are also posing a huge threat to the people residing in nearby areas and the flora and fauna of adjacent Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary.
The special committee has also been assigned to ascertain the identity of the law violators in coordination with the investigators or otherwise and proceed against them for enforcement of environmental norms, including action of stopping the illegal mining, added the letter.
