The stormy weather is expected to bring much-needed relief for people of the State reeling under sweltering heat. 

Maximum temperature will be more than 40 degree Celsius at many places and likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha during next 4 to 5 days.

As the sun marches northwards and according to the climatology, the month of March is when the region extending from Maharashtra to Odisha is a heat zone.

While Odisha recorded the highest ever rainfall this May in State's weather history, the maximum temperature in May 2021 has been the lowest since 1969. June is also predicted to remain cooler for Odisha
