The matter came to the fore after mother of the survivor lodged a complaint at the Bonai police station on Tuesday.
According to the complaint, the minor girl had gone to the Bonai Tehsil office with her mother for some work yesterday. While returning, mother of the rape-survivor asked the boy from the same village to drop the girl at her house in his bicycle.
However, the accused took the girl to his house and raped her.
“I asked him to take my daughter to house and he agreed. But when I reached home, I saw her run towards me crying,” said the mother of the girl.
Soon after the incident, a complaint was lodged at the Bonai police station following which the officials arrested the accused. The rape survivor and the accused were later sent to Bonai Sub Divisional Hospital for medical examination.
Earlier on Monday, two youths were arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a minor girl at Bapuji Nagar in Boudh district.
On the same day, a 60-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a minor girl while she was asleep in her house.
As per the complaint filed by the survivor at the Nabarangpur Town Police Station here, two youth intercepted her and forcefully carried her away to an isolated place.
Both the accused repeatedly raped her and dropped her off at her village on Thursday morning. The youths warned her not to reveal the matter to anyone or else face consequences. One of the youths even promised to marry her if she keeps the incident a secret.
On Thursday, the girl lodged a police complaint with the help of Maa Ghara, a local NGO.
"We have received the complaint and investigation is on. The accused will be arrested soon," informed IIC, Nabarangpur Town Police Station Tarak Mohammad.
"Our government and the administration have miserably failed to protect minor girls. There is an immediate need for awareness generation among the public regarding this growing menace," said Maa Ghara President Kadambini Tripathy.
In another incident, a 15-year-old minor girl on Thursday lodged a complaint at the Simulia police station in Balasore alleging that she was abducted and raped by a youth of the same village.The girl was having an affair with the accused youth and the latter had been forcing her to have a physical relationship, reports said.
On denying for the same, the youth forcefully raped her and threatened not to reveal the matter before anyone."The accused has been arrested and the duo has been sent for medical examination," informed the police.
According to reports, on May 12, a minor girl was allegedly misbehaved by her friend identified as Kishan Sahani and later gang raped by three persons identified as Jitu Digal, Badal Digal and a minor boy of Gudari village near Gudari airstrip in Phulbani.
"A case was lodged at the police station on May 12 by the minor girl. The girl informed that she was in a love relationship with one Srikant Behera and the couple had eloped on May 9 and were staying in Phulbani. On May 11, Srikant came to know that the family members of the girl have decided to file an FIR against him following which he asked the girl to go back to her parents," said Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Khajuripada Police Station, Anita Kiddo.
The IIC further informed that when the girl was waiting for an auto-rickshaw at Maligunda Chhak, she met her two friends identified as Sahil Sahani and Kishan Sahani. Later, the three went for watching a melody show. While returning, Sahil asked Kishan to drop the minor girl at her house. Kishan however took her near Gudari airstrip and started misbehaving with her, said the IIC.
"I told him that I won't go with him but he forcibly took me in his two-wheeler near Gudari and started misbehaving with me. In the meantime, three youths, who were following us, reached the spot. They beat Kishan and he fled. Later, the three thrashed and gang raped me," the survivor stated.
Based on the complaint of the minor girl, police have arrested Srikant, Jitu, Badal and the juvenile. Another accused is absconding and efforts are on to nab him, added the IIC.
On the other hand, on being asked about the incident, one of the accused said that he does not know anything about the matter.
According to information, the accused has been identified as Surendra Behera.
According to sources, the accused allegedly lured the 10-year-old girl with a chocolate and some money and took her to a lonely place, where he raped her.
The incident came to light after the minor girl narrated the matter to her mother, following which a complaint was lodged at the police station.
"We found that the accused was a neighbour of the girl. The minor girl has been sent for medical examination and after her statements are recorded under Section 164 of the CrPc, the accused will be forwarded to court," said Simulia IIC, Sanjay Parida.
Sources said one Kathia Nayak of Taria village under Ranpur police limits allegedly raped the minor girl while she had gone to attend nature's call to a nearby cashew orchard.
Following the incident, the family members of the girl lodged a complaint at Rajsunakhala police station.
Police have begun a manhunt to nab the accused who is stated to be absconding while the survivor’s medical examination has been carried out at the district headquarters hospital, informed sources.
Earlier today, another minor girl was allegedly raped after being kidnapped by her relative in Birabhanjapur village under Talchua marine police limits of Kendrapara district.
Moreover, Police today also arrested a youth for allegedly molesting a minor girl on Sunday at Teliaganj village near Soro in Balasore.
Yesterday, a girl who was allegedly raped in Nuagaon block of Nayagarh district killed herself by consuming poison.
On the fateful day, the 14-year-old girl was on her way to attend a family function when Muna Nayak – a distant relative (brother in law) of hers from the same village kidnapped and took her to his house.
“I was going alone to my uncle’s house when he gagged my mouth with a cloth and abducted me. He took me to his house and raped me for two days,” said the minor girl.
Yesterday, he released the girl after which she managed her way back home and narrated the ordeal to her parents.
“She was missing from the night of April 17. We tried to search her but in vain. Later, she returned on April 19 and narrated the entire incident. We have reported the matter to police and want stringent action against the accused,” informed the survivor’s relative.
Meanwhile, the minor girl has been taken to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bhawanipatna for medical examination.
“A case has been registered at the Thuamul Rampur police station. The minor has alleged that her brother-in-law raped her. Investigation into the case is on and the medical test of the girl will be conducted today,” informed Bhawanipatna SDPO.
This is the sixth instance when a minor girl has been raped in Odisha during the past one week. While, a Class-III girl student of Bachaka village under Biswanathpur police station of Kalahandi district was allegedly raped on Wednesday, another girl faced similar assault by an auto driver in Mayurbhanj district the same day.
Earlier, four similar cases of minor girl rapes were reported from Nilagiri, Soro and Khaira in Balasore district.
The girl's mother lodged a complaint with the Biswanathpur police in this connection after which police has detained the accused and interrogating him.
As per the complaint, the accused uncle, identified as Sanyasi Bibhara, promised the eight-year-old of giving berries, took her to the forests and allegedly raped her.
The girl after returning from the forest narrated the ordeal in front of her mother who immediately lodged a complaint against Sanyasi at the police station.
As per police sources, the girl was sent for medical examination, the reports of which are still awaited.
"A case has been registered against the accused following the complaint of the mother. Sanyasi has been detained and we are interrogating him. He has not revealed anything yet. We are awaiting the reports," said Gopinath Mani Patra, Additional SP, Kalahandi.
As per sources, the minor had gone to the forest late last night to attend nature's call when she was allegedly dragged by a miscreant into the bushes.
The family of the girl further alleged that she was raped and later murdered before being thrown in the cashew forest.
Family members early in the morning searched for the girl and found her body in the cashew forest. Getting information, police rushed to spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.
Erasma IIC Bichitrananda Sethi said," It is suspected that the girl has been murdered. The accused will be arrested soon. As per preliminary investigations, we found that the girl was out in the forest at around 2 pm late last night. She might have been raped and murdered. Further investigation is on."
Meanwhile, the girl’s body has been sent for post mortem, sources said.
The incident occurred on Thursday near DBR Mills in Hyderabad city.
The 16-year-old girl, who suffered several cuts on her body, was rescued by some passersby, who also caught hold of the accused and handed him over to the police.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Narasimha Reddy, the girl in her statement revealed that she had been having an affair with the boy for three months.
Suspecting that she was talking to another boy also, the accused, also said to be a minor, called her to an isolated place and attacked her.
The accused is allegedly a drug addict and police are investigating if there are other drug addicts involved in the crime, said the official.
A case was registered against the boy under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act.
The girl, a student of Plus II first year was going to her college alone recently, when a youth identified as Meghananda Sahani of Sahanipatna village forcibly took her to the bamboo forest on the roadside and tried to rape her, said reports.
Some villagers rushed to the spot after hearing the screams of the girl and rescued her. When the matter came to light, family members of the girl lodged an FIR at Kujang Police Station in connection with the incident. Soon after it, the police arrested the accused and later forwarded him to court.
The girl's family members suspected that since she used to stay depressed over fear of public humiliation following the incident, she might have taken the extreme step by hanging herself with a ‘dupatta’.
As per reports, the girl's father works outside which is why he had left her at Tumbi's house. She had been staying there and looking after his children for more than two years now. On Monday, finding her alone at his house, Tumbi allegedly raped her. The horrified girl narrated the ordeal to the villagers who immediately lodged a police complaint.
A case under IPC sections and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, (POCSO) was registered while Tumbi has been detained for interrogation.
The response of police officials could not be obtained.
Meanwhile in Puri, police have arrested two persons including Constable Jitendra Sethi, the prime accused in Puri gang rape case where a minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by two men after being abducted to a government quarters.
Demanding a CBI probe into the case, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Naik said, "With each passing day, the State is witnessing a steep rise in sexual assault cases. As there is involvement of police in the gang rape case in Puri, the probe will likely get derailed. CM Naveen, who is heading the Home department, should resign on moral grounds."
Echoing similar views, State BJP Mahila Morcha president Pravati Parida stated, "After allegations of dereliction of duty by police in Rairangpur Lecturer death case, a cop has been accused in the gang rape incident in Puri. If CM Naveen Patnaik does not give an explanation, we will personally meet and seek answers from him in this regard."

Slamming the Odisha government over the Puri gang rape, senior Congress leader Bijayalaxmi Sahoo said, protectors have become predators.
As per sources, the survivor was rescued by a team of the Commissionerate Police from Gatirout Patana area of Cuttack and was later handed over to Childline officials.
During counseling by the Childline authorities, the survivor revealed that she is a resident of Tirtol area of Jagatsinghpur. She had recently come to Cuttack and was staying with her elder sister. However, after some altercation, she was asked by her sister to return to the village.
While on her way back, she came in contact with a stranger youth, who took her to Badambadi on the pretext of providing a job. The youth later took her to a house in Gatirout Patana where he along with one of his associates allegedly abused her. The youth reportedly recorded a video of the incident and blackmailed her and repeatedly harassed her for 22 days.
On Monday, police after receiving some inputs, raided the area and rescued the girl. Based on the allegations by the girl, Childline authorities have filed an FIR at Chauliaganj Police Station in connection with the incident.
