However, amid the urgency some surprising visuals emerged from Kandhamal and Balasore where students were seen receiving their matric certificates on roads. Teachers in Maa Bhairavi school under Kandhamal’s Tudibandha block and Balasore’s Bhogarai were seen distributing matric certificates on road.

Following the survey, CM Naveen Patnaik announced 15-day relief to flood-affected people; and also directed for damage assessment within 7 days of floodwaters receding, and extension of assistance within 15 days.
