As per the current updates, the global box office earnings of Black Adam have surpassed $250 million. And considering the overwhelming response of the audience from across the globe including India, it can be said that the number will surely increase in the coming days.
Moreover, with a $67 million opening, this has become Dwayne’s highest opening-day collection as the lead.
Black Adam is an enslaved man from an ancient civilization who awakens in the 21st century with super-heroic powers. The roots of his motivation are his family and his people, mostly his son. If anyone messes with anything he cares about, he is going to act swiftly and violently. He is the judge, jury, and executioner and he imparts the judgement as per his sense of justice.
The movie establishes Black Adam as a hesitant anti-hero rather than as a villain. Certainly, that was an interesting dilemma for heroes to deal with.
Henry Cavill returning as Superman in Black Adam’s post-credits scene was certainly the icing on the cake. Though The Rock said that the long-awaited Black Adam vs. Superman fight will still take some time, the audience across the globe is eager to see the duo's big showdown.
Black Adam marks the entry of ‘The Rock’ into the DC Universe which includes icons like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Black Adam’s true comics rival, Shazam. The idea of Black Adam facing all these superheroes in the DC Universe including Superman is undoubtedly thrilling. The audience will definitely want a character to cross paths with all these great heroes.
Dwayne rose to fame as a Hollywood actor with several remarkable movies. Among all those, his character as Scorpion King was most applauded by movie lovers. Though all other movies had high-octane actions, he got the opportunity to come on screen with superpowers in Black Adam.
In the movie, Black Adam wanted to kick the crap out of a lot of guys. Even, he loves to be a disruptive force. Dwayne loved the fact that Black Adam was a character that looked like him. He always wanted to play a character that has a similarity to him. So, he stepped into the shoes of Black Adam. Dwayne loves that Black Adam isn’t a character who can be guided or asked to do something, he’s not a guy one can make do things. His decisions are reserved to him only.
As per the latest reports, the sequel of Black Adam is already on its way and it won’t take long.
Producer Hiram Garcia was quoted as saying, “The sequel is not going to take that long. I can promise you that, we'll get cooking on it fast, that's for sure."
In an interview with Comicbook.com, Black Adam producers Beau Flynn and Hiram Garcia made the big revelation when asked about a sequel to Black Adam.
Disclosing how long fans will have to wait to witness Black Adam’s return, Flynn said to the audience, "Not to worry, the turnaround will be fast."
Further, Garcia went on to add, “It's not going to take that long. I can promise you that, we always hope the first domino's the easy one, we'll get cooking on it fast, that's for sure."
As of now, there is no script for a Black Adam 2; however, Garcia mentioned that one of their main goals is to establish that Superman exists in the same world as Black Adam.
Garcia was quoted as saying, “Our vision is, what we really want to establish is Superman exists in the same world as Black Adam. Both those guys exist in the same universe and that's important for us. But we really wanted the world to know that these guys are going to cross paths and how we do it, we're still working on it.”
“We don't want to give that away. But I will say that it's much bigger than what people think," she ended.
Well, that is something interesting! Black Adam and Superman’s faceoff will be the most-awaited moment for the fans. However, as per the makers, the faceoff might not happen anytime soon.
Meanwhile, The Rock has stepped in for promotions of the much-awaited T20 international match between India and Pakistan.
In the video, Dwayne says, “When the greatest rivals collide, the world will stand still.”
Further, he continues, “This is more than just a cricket match. It’s time for India vs Pakistan.”
He ended the video with his signature of raising his eyebrow.

Avatar The Way of the Water on December 16
James Cameron returns with the sequel of the biggest Hollywood hit Avatar after a gap of almost 14 years and hence, the anticipation for this movie is relatively high. The trailer has been quite impressive, and fans are eagerly waiting for the film to hit the theater.
As he emerged, lightning bolts appeared on the screen behind him and smoke billowed out on the floor. Audience members had been given lightning bolt lanyards before the panel, and every single one lit up brightly in the darkened hall for a grand display.
Johnson also dropped the newest trailer for his upcoming superhero adventure, helmed by the Spanish-American director Jaume Collett-Serra, as part of the Warner Bros. presentation.
'Black Adam' may not be as recognisable to comic book newbies, according to 'Variety', but his biggest rival should be a familiar face because of the 2019 hit film 'Shazam!' starring Zachary Levi.
'Black Adam', similar to the character of Shazam, is bestowed with magical powers from the wizard Shazam. Unlike Shazam, though, 'Black Adam' calls upon the Egyptian gods for his powers (Shazam traditionally calls upon the Greek gods).
The new movie is set to follow the anti-hero nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the powers of the Egyptian gods. Now, freed from his tomb, 'Black Adam' is ready to unleash his form of justice on the modern world.
With Johnson's title character as well as a host of new additions, 'Black Adam' is bringing the Justice Society of America to the DC Universe, 'Variety' informs us.
The Justice Society, including Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, is a superhero team that predates the Justice League in DC comics.
As the franchise is moving towards the last league, actor Vin Diesel has written a long Instagram post for his Fast and Furious co-actor Dwayne Johnson while urging him to return to the franchise.
Vin wrote, “My little brother Dwayne... the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast 10. As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes... but the time has come...”
He further wrote, “Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10!”
Vin also opened up that the character Hobbs played by Dwayne is not something that can ever be played anyone except ‘The Rock’ himself. “I say this out of love... but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny,” added Vin.
Vin and Dwayne had a feud during the production of 2016’s Fate of the Furious. Later, Vin said that his feud with Dwayne was due to the former’s way of dealing with co-workers.
"Yeah, I'm doing a big spin-off movie with Dwayne Johnson, the Rock, who I'm a particular big fan of and good friend of," Statham told ew.com.
"So I'm going to do a big Hollywood splash with a mate of mine. They are developing the script right now, so I can't give you any spoilers on that one. Listen, Dwayne's got a big appetite for action, and he's got a great appetite for humour, and I'm sure it will be brimming with both of those things."
The film is being helmed by David Leitch.
"Dave Leitch is someone that I have known for many many years, who is taking the helm and directing this, and he's just a true expert on this kind of stuff," said Statham.
"You might have seen 'Atomic Blonde'. He's got 'Deadpool' coming out. He's a really talented guy, and to be working with someone that I've known for so long is a big bonus for me."

Last weekend, Katie, a high school senior from Minnesota, asked the 45-year-old entertainer to her prom. Johnson did not agree to go to prom with the high school student, but he responded to the request by surprising the student, reports dailymail.co.uk.
Johnson rented out the area's movie theatre for a special showing of his new movie for Katie and her friends.
He wrote in the clip's caption: "I was so impressed by this young lady's charm and confidence to even ask me (ladies always get shy in front of me) that I had to do something special.
"I decided to rent out an entire theatre (capacity 232 seats) in her town so Katie and her closest 232 friends and family can enjoy a special screening of ‘Rampage'. And all the free popcorn, candy and soda high school kids can consume! You're money's no good Katie... everything is on Uncle DJ."
He was not done there as he also taped a special message for his fan.
In a video posted on his Instagram, Katie is shown sitting in class as a special morning announcement comes on. Her face goes bright red as she hears the voice of her favourite actor tell her that he has rented out an entire movie theatre for her and her friends.
"I'll take happy tears all day," the actor captioned the post.
A week after ranking on The Hollywood Reporter's inaugural Top Actors chart at No.2, Priyanka replaced Johnson atop the newest tally.
The Top Actors chart is a ranking of the most popular actors on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex.
The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended on June 6.
Priyanka, who shot to fame in the US with the show "Quantico", rises 2-1 on the chart, gaining in multiple metrics, including 98 per cent in Twitter mentions in the tracking week, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
Johnson and Efron rank at numbers 2 and 9, respectively.
"I think it's a real possibility," he said in an interview with GQ, when asked if he would ever run for president of the US.
Johnson, who said he did not vote for either President Donald Trump or Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, said: "Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important. Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody," he said.
"I would not shut them out," he said about people he disagrees with.
"I would actually include them. The first thing we'd do is we'd come and sit down and we'd talk about it."
Johnson, who stars in the upcoming movie "Baywatch", said he thinks he would do a better job of bringing people together than the current President.
The filming of "Rampage" has been underway since last week in Atlanta.
Johnson shared some details about the upcoming film adaptation of the classic arcade game on his Instagram account on April 30.
Accompanied by a workout photo of himself, he posted: "Good to finally have boots on the ground here in Georgia for production of 'Rampage'. I head up an anti-poaching unit out of Rwanda. My best friend is a rare albino gorilla named, George.
"Very bad people infect George, an alligator and a wolf with a serum. All three animals grow at an unprecedented rate. Their size, speed, agility and violent aggression is off the charts. They go on a deadly rampage and want to destroy the world.
"George not happy. Me not happy. When animals like you, they lick you. When they don't like you, they kill you. I will hunt down the bad people who did this to my best friend. And when I find them, I will not lick them.
"We have the best VFX monster making team (WETA) on the planet. Our actors and crew have been working very hard to raise the monster genre bar. As always, let's have some fun. Let's shoot," the 44-year-old added.
"Rampage" also features Naomie Harris, Joe Manganiello and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Actor Malin Akerman has joined the cast as the villain who infects the gorilla, alligator and wolf with the serum that will cause rapid growth and induced rage.
The movie is set release next year.
Priyanka on Wednesday took to Twitter, where she shared a photograph of herself along with Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach and Jon Bass.
"Being bad is so much more fun! 'Baywatch' cast at Cinemacon 2017 Victoria Leeds...'Baywatch'...The Rock, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario Kelly Rohrbach and Jon Bass," she captioned the image.
Priyanka also shared a photograph of herself along with Johnson and Efron. She captioned the image: "Always fun with these boys...The Rock, Zac Efron...Be 'Baywatch'... running lines...life of an actor...on the job."
"Baywatch" has been adapted from the 1990's popular TV series of the same name and is slated to the hit screens in May.
A recent poll reveals 46 per cent of those who were asked the question, said they would support the 49-year-old macho action star's bid for US presidency.
"I love our country to my core and I'm endlessly grateful for the opportunities I've had here, as a half-Black, half-Samoan kid being able to work my a** off knowing tenacity opens doors," Johnson tells People magazine in an exclusive interview.
Noting that he is "not a politician nor did I ever have political passions", Johnson, however, told People: "But when 46 per cent of Americans say they're in favour of me becoming president, that forces me to humbly and respectfully stand up, listen and learn."
The actor took to Instagram on Monday to share the news of his wedding with his fans and followers. He also shared two photographs of the couple against a romantic setting with the beautiful sunset.
"We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii," Johnson wrote alongside the series of the photographs.
For the wedding, Johnson opted for a white shirt and white pants and his bride wore a long white lace gown with a low-cut neckline and long train. In one image, the actor is seen smiling beside his bride, and the second shows the couple kissing against the sunset backdrop with Hashian's veil blowing in the wind.
Johnson met Hashian in 2006 when the actor was filming "The Game Plan". They started dating in 2007. The couple share daughters Jasmine and Tiana.
The project marks Johnson's first true dramatic role in his career, which has been full of successful comedies, family fare and action flicks.
Johnson will produce through his production company, Seven Bucks Productions with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, and frequent collaborator Beau Flynn. The project is in early development, and no studio is attached yet, reports variety.com.
The announcement was made Friday evening at Madison Square Garden in New York where Johnson held a surprise press conference to discuss the role. Johnson was at MSG for UFC 244 where he was the guest presenter for the main even of Nate Diaz vs Jorge Masvidal where he will wrap the "BMF" title around the waist of the winner.
Kerr - known as The Smashing Machine, The Titan and The Specimen - is a two-time UFC heavyweight champ, and was widely regarded as the best fighter in the world during his MMA career. He was the subject of a 2002 documentary, "The Smashing Machine," but his life story has never been reflected in a scripted film. The documentary, which aired on HBO, chronicled his life and career, including his romantic relationships, friendships and addiction to painkillers.
"Mark Kerr's story is such an incredible story," Johnson said, addressing his fans at Madison Square Garden, after he made the surprise announcement Friday night that he'd be portraying Kerr on film. "Like all of us, and like a lot of these fighters, he battled these demons - these demons of addiction, these demons of mental health, these demons of getting out and the pressure of fighting in front of 50,000 people and what that does to somebody. Here's a guy who has gone through it all, hit rock bottom, but the best part about Mark Kerr is that, like all of us in this room and all these fighters, these warriors, is that everyday, we get up and we want to do a little bit better tomorrow than we did today."
Johnson said he had spoken to Kerr earlier in the day to let him know that he'd be making the announcement to the MMA fans on Friday night at the UFC weigh-in at Madison Square Garden, and Kerr was thankful that Johnson wants to tell his story.
"He's overwhelmed that this is happening, and I love that he trusts me with his life and with his story," Johnson shared.
When asked at the press conference what drew him to the role, which is the most dramatic role Johnson has ever signed onto, Johnson said: "It's a dramatic role, but Mark lives a dramatic life. It's an opportunity to shine a light on one of our warriors, who not only deserves it, but who has such universal appeal and a universal story."
"The guy was a beast and he was dominant and there was only one like him at that time. When you think about these fighters, there is no other sport like MMA - the multiple disciplines and the pressure and the fact that you put your life on the line, literally, every time you step in the cage - and if you dig a little deeper than the physicality that they have, there's a real character of depth to a lot of these warriors, and Mark is one of them."
In fact, he already has few friends from India's tinsel town. Dwayne has worked with Indian star Priyanka Chopra Jonas in "Baywatch", and bonded with Varun Dhawan through social media when the Indian star appreciated his movie and one of his positive gestures.
So, can we expect you to head to Bollywood soon? "I wouldn't rule that out. I have a lot of respect for Bollywood and the history of Bollywood," Dwayne told IANS here while promoting his upcoming film "Jumanji: The Next Level"," he replied.
Referring to Varun, Hollywood's biggest action star said: "He is such a big fan. I've interacted with him before on social media. And I know, he is a big star in India… Yeah, so maybe one day, you never know, you could see me in a Bollywood action movie. That'd be a lot of fun because I know that we have a lot of wonderful fans in India, and we have talked about that. So, maybe one day (you could see me in a Bollywood movie)."
The wrestler-turned-actor, who is still popular for his wrestling persona of 'The Rock', is a box-office superstar, an author and a fast-growing entrepreneur. As an actor, he is attached to projects such as "The Mummy Returns", "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island", "Hercules", "Snitch", "Moana" and "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw".
At the moment, he is looking forward to the release of the second part of revamped "Jumanji" franchise, which is titled "Jumanji: The Next Level", to which he is attached as a producer as well.
The world of Chris Van Allsburg's book "Jumanji", narrating the story of a young Alan Parrish getting trapped in a board game, found its way to the silver screen in 1995. Late Robin Williams as its main lead.
From getting lost in the transit, tackling monkeys and battling other odds, the movie revolved around how Parrish gets stuck in the board game and comes back as an adult, and how he has to finish the game with his friends to escape the fate he called upon himself by rolling the dice.
In 2017, the story came back on the big screen with a modern twist. In "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle", a group of high school students gets lost in the jungle after laying their hands on a video game console featuring a version of the game Jumanji.
Despite glossing up the story with a digital touch, the makes retained the essence of the tale as well as the magical elements. And they will be back with more chaotic fun and another adventurous ride to the jungle with "Jumanji: The Next Level".
The movie stars Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Nick Jonas. New addition to the cast includes Awkwafina, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover. Sony Pictures Entertainment India will release "Jumanji: The Next Level" on December 13, 2019, in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu.
