BJP Bhubaneswar unit leaders led by State party President Samir Mohanty lightened lamps at Lingaraja temple and performed yagna at Bibhisaneswara temple for Murmu.
Notably, Congress leader Ajoy Kumar on Wednesday said that NDA's presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu represents a "very evil philosophy of India" and so she should not be made a "symbol of Adivasi."

The locals congregated at the village priest’s (Dehury) house in the morning and invited him to perform the puja. Following the invitation, the Dehury was dressed up in traditional attire and went to the Jahira to perform puja.

The meeting will take place at a resort in Shillong.
During her two-hour visit, Murmu met Ministers, MLAs and leaders of the BJP and its ally Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) here at a hotel and sought their support for her candidature in the Presidential poll.
"It is a great pleasure for me to come to the soil of Bhagwan Buddha. Our Prime Minister selected me as the candidate for President and I am appealing to leaders of every political party to support me," Murmu said in Patna's Maurya hotel while addressing NDA leaders.
Former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was also present at the airport.
According to sources, Draupadi Murmu will meet the MLAs and MPs of BJP as well as allies in Lucknow.
