At 64, Murmu will be the youngest-ever President, pipping the record-holder, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy (1977-1982), who also took office at 64, by a couple of months.

Wishing Murmu a successful tenure at the highest office of the country, Panda said her journey would inspire the generations to come.

Indian Air Force (IAF)-operated Air India One will ferry Draupadi Murmu, who will take oath as India’s 15th President on July 25. 

Chief Justice of India NV Ramana will administer her the oath of office.

In the show-cause notice, OPCC president Sarat Pattanayak has asked the Barabati MLA to submit a reply within two weeks.

The certificate is issued after the returning officer hands over the result to the poll panel.

Patnaik will be on a four-day visit to New Delhi, starting Saturday. During his stay, he will attend the oath-taking ceremony, scheduled to be held on July 25. 

Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and G. Kishan Reddy, and BJP national general secretaries C.T. Ravi and Vinod Tawde were among the first to reach Murmu's residence to oversee the preparations.

His Holiness expressed confidence that the new President will do whatever she can to consolidate India's strengths and provide a lead in working to develop a more peaceful world, inspired by the treasures of India's ancient wisdom.
