Prices of petroleum products have now been aligned to market rates. This means fuel prices will rise each time, global crude prices rise and the rupee falls against the dollar.

We have been seeing an uptick in global crude prices, which has also pushed petrol and diesel rates in Odisha higher.

As per August 13 updates, petrol is being sold at Rs 103.47 and Rs 103.78 in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack respectively. On Saturday, while diesel price in Bhubaneswar is Rs 95.03, in Cuttack the fuel's rate is Rs 95.33.

In the Twin City, petrol is being sold at Rs 103.60 and Rs 103.38 in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack respectively. While diesel price in Cuttack is Rs 94.93, the fuel's rate is Rs 95.15 in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The prices of petrol and diesel have been considerably steady in Odisha and other parts of the country even as international crude prices slumped on concerns of a potential global recession.

Customers are reportedly paying Rs 103.60 per litre of petrol in the State Capital while diesel is being sold at Rs 95.15 a litre. In Cuttack, customers are paying Rs 103.38 and Rs 94.93 per litre of petrol and diesel respectively.

Customers are reportedly paying Rs 103.01 per litre of petrol in the State Capital while diesel is being sold at Rs 94.68 a litre, an 8 paise reduction in price from Friday. In Cuttack, customers are paying Rs 103.28 and Rs 94.84 per litre of petrol and diesel respectively, a 26 paise fall from Friday.

On Saturday, almost every part of the State witnessed a marginal rise in fuel prices. While the Capital city Bhubaneswar witnessed an eight paise rise in Petrol prices taking it to 103.19 per litre, the millenium city of Cuttack saw a rise of 21 paise

Further, the Rs 23,250 per tonne additional tax on crude oil produced domestically has been cut to Rs 17,000 per tonne.
