This is the ninth increase in prices since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22.
In the first four four occasions, prices were increased by 80 paise a litre - the steepest single-day rise since the daily price revision was introduced in June 2017. On Sunday, petrol price went up by 50 paise a litre and diesel by 55 paise.
Congress and other opposition parties have criticised the government for the price rise saying it has added to the burden on common man reeling under general commodity price rise.
In four increases, petrol and diesel prices have gone up by Rs 3.20 a litre.
Petrol in Bhubaneswar was retailing at Rs 103.69 as against 102.66 previously while the diesel rate has gone up from Rs 92.48 per litre to Rs 93.61 per litre, as per a price notification of state fuel retailers.
Prices have been on a freeze since then despite the cost of raw material spiralling. International oil prices were around USD 81-82 a barrel in early November as against USD 114 now.
