During searches at the properties of ADM Mohapatra following information about his disproportionate assets, that lasted for 36 hours, the sleuths claimed to have stumbled upon assets worth around Rs 10 crore.

The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested Manoranjan Nayak, posted as an Assistant Collector at Rourkela ADM Office in Sundargarh district, for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 2 crore.

The officials of the anti-corruption wing conducted simultaneous searches on the property of Sudarsan Pradhan following allegations of amassing assets disproportionate to the known sources of income.

During the raid, a bizarre scene unfolded when the government official threw a bag containing Rs 20 lakh unaccounted cash onto his neighbour’s terrace in a bid to escape detection by anti- corruption department officials.
