The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has advised the district Collectors to stay on alert mode with necessary manpower and machinery to tackle the exigency following the likely formation of cyclone.

Under the impact of the system, rainfall activities will increase and wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph is likely to prevail in the Andaman Sea and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal and the south-west Bay of Bengal from November 30 to December 2.

The Chief of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Saturday (Sept 25) stated that the depression over Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression which might intensify into a cyclone by today evening.
