The cyber fraudsters are using innovative techniques via social media, mobile phone calls and SMS to cheat people.
Moreover, Panda also warned people to stay alert and not to share data over phone calls to private callers. Further, he said people should not share OTP or KYC details over any phone call. He urged people to report any such fraudulent calls to the National Cyber Crime Portal.
As per the data released by the Cyber Crime Help Desk of the Bhubaneswar UPD, the sleuths received a total of 360 calls complaining about cyber frauds in January. Out of this 331 calls were received from Bhubaneswar and 29 from various parts of the State.
Of the 414 cases reported in Odisha in December, the Capital city of Bhubaneswar reported 213 cases while 201 cases were filed in other districts of Odisha.
