The Crime Branch team along with the members of the forensic department first visited the cremation ground. After collecting samples, they returned to the hotel where they quizzed the hotel staff to figure out the sequence of events.

On Monday, the CB team visited Swain's house in Ranapur of Nayagarh where family members of the deceased identified the half-burnt footwear and earphone used by Swain, which were earlier recovered from Chandikhol. The team conducted search of Swain's house to find out the 'missing' memory chip, but returned empty-handed.
