While daily Covid-19 infections are on a declining trend in the state, Odisha Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra, on Wednesday (June 16) stated that the transmission of virus is very much under control.
As per the data with the State Health Department, when in the first wave the number of children infected by the novel coronavirus stood below 4 per cent, the proportion in the second wave has grown to a little over 5 per cent
"General bed utilisation is around 39 % while beds having oxygen and ventilator facilities are around 60 % in the case of Covid patients. Still, the number of CC, DCSP, DDS have been increased in five-six places."
The second wave peak in Odisha has been 3-times the first peak count. If the global third wave peak of nearly twice of the second wave peak is considered, then State's peak count in third wave may cross 20k!
