In a letter to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Secretary, Odisha Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra urged the former to revise the private vaccine allocation ratio of 75:25 to 95:5 ratio for the State.

The civic body made special arrangements to inoculate the beneficiaries including students who will be traveling to foreign countries to study, work and participate in sports events.

Call it conspiracy theory or bizarre happenstance, but slowly claims regarding induction of electromagnetism in body after administration of Covid vaccines are spreading like wildfire. 

A hacker group that goes by the name of "Dark Leak Market" claimed, via a tweet, that they have the database of about 15 crore Indians who registered themselves on the CoWIN portal and are reselling it for $800 since they are not the "original leakers" of the data.

Kejriwal's remarks came during a visit to inspect ongoing vaccination drives for people above 45 years at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya located at Lancer Road. The AAP-led Delhi government has started administering Covid jabs for those above 45 age groups at polling booths in each municipal ward.

The city municipal corporation authorities here has expedited the second dose of Covid vaccination for the beneficiaries under the age category of 18 to 44 years. The third phase of Covid vaccination is continuing in the city since May 3. 

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the first corporate sector vaccination drive at Indian Oil Corporation Limited Headquarters in Bhubaneswar today (June 2).

Experts from the ICMR-National Institute of Malaria Research and the Indian Council of Medical Research, on Wednesday, slammed the government for poor planning of the home-grown vaccine production and deployment, as a result of which "India doesn't have enough vaccines to go around".

The study also showed that vaccination boosts the immunity these individuals naturally develop after the infection, so much that they are likely to be protected even from the emerging variants.

Some private hospitals are giving package for Covid vaccination in collaboration with some hotels, which has come to the notice of the Ministry. Vaccination in hotels is against the guideline issued by MoHFW for the National Covid Vaccination programme.

As the Covid pandemic sweeps across Odisha, the government's massive inoculation initiative for all above 18 years of age to arrest the rising Corona crisis in the State is a laudable effort. However, this ambitious step of the government seems to have hit a roadblock. The lack of internet accessibility and poor telecom infrastructure in several pockets of the State has now evolved as a major challenge for the government in achieving its target of universal vaccination. 

The vaccination exercise against Covid-19 which was halted in the State in view of very severe cyclonic storm Yaas has resumed today. 

Industrial establishments can vaccinate their employees and their family members in their hospitals by procuring vaccines of their own or if hospital is not available, they can arrange the inoculation in a work place tagging with a private hospital CVC.

The Health Ministry said that for industrial and private workplace CVCs (COVID-19 vaccination centres), the vaccine doses will have to be procured by the private hospitals with whom the respective employer ties up.

The municipal authorities of the city will stop the drive-in and door-to-door vaccination initiative from May 22.
