In a major move, the Odisha government on Sunday extended the State-wide lockdown till June 17 in view of the prevailing pandemic situation. The 16-day extension of the curbs will come into effect immediately.
Keeping in mind a possible rush in markets in the wake of an approaching cyclonic storm "Yaas', the Odisha government has allowed grocery shops, OMFED booths and shops dealing with food and essential items, vegetables, fish, meat & egg to open between 7 AM and 1 PM on Monday (May 24) and Tuesday (May 25).
Odisha extended the COVID19 lockdown from May 19th (Wednesday) till 5 AM of June 1st (Tuesday).
The pulse-producing States/UTs were also requested to facilitate procurement as sustained procurement would incentivize farmers to cultivate pulses on a long-term basis.
