Even as the third wave is being anticipated, Mohanty said that there is no need to panic now in apprehension. He also clarified that there is no clear evidence regarding children and young people getting affected in the third wave.

One of the youths even passed out on the sidewalk, while others were being interrogated by the officials. Later, the police detained the youths for violating lockdown guidelines.

With the announced lockdown in Odisha coming to an end on June 17th, all eyes are now on State government’s decision on reopening. During a review meeting recently, CM Naveen Patnaik instructed officials to prepare the blueprint of unlocking in the state.
