Supreme Court judge Justice Hemant Gupta, in a divided verdict, on Thursday dismissed appeals challenging the Karnataka High Court judgment which upheld the state government's February 5 order, prohibiting wearing of hijab inside classrooms in pre-university colleges.
The videos came to the notice of the college authorities on Wednesday, and seven students were immediately barred from attending college.
As per reports, the school which has provisions for study from Class-1-8 has only two classrooms and students from all the classes are forced to use those two rooms to study. However, interestingly it did not deter the authorities to build eight toilets in the school campus.
