Only a top CAT score isn’t enough to seek admission into top b-schools. CAT applicants have to endure other two levels in the process like Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
If you crack all the levels, your chances of getting into IIMs and other top institutes are high. But here’s the twist to the tale.
IIMs have only 5500 seats in total but lakhs of applicants give the CAT exam every year. If you don’t make it to the big leagues, what’s next?
Is it a full-stop to your management dream? The good news is there are alternative ways to get into top institutes that grade similar to IIMs.
Other best alternative exams that offer you a management seat in a reputed business school include XAT, NMAT, IIFT, FMS, and GMAT.
IIFT: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade or IIFT exam is conducted by the IIFT itself. The test is the same as CAT but it adds General Awareness to the list.
The paper consists of 110 questions and the duration of the exam is two hours. Unlike CAT, you don’t have a sectional limit for IIFT.
The application form for IIFT is available from September 30 onwards. You can get yourself registered for the exam before November 24. The exam takes place on December 18, 2022.
FMS: The Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, accepts CAT and GMAT scores but it also has its own entrance test called FMS.
The exam process is the same as the CAT exam followed by Extempore and personal interview. The application starts from October 1, 2022 and closes by November 15, 2022.
Shortlisted candidates will be announced for personal interview during the third week of March 2023. The final selection for the course will be announced during the third week of May 2023.
XAT: This is another best alternative exam to enter the leading b-school XLRI Jamshedpur. The exam registration starts from August 10, 2022 and ends by 30 November. 2022.
The exam will be conducted on January 8, 2023. You’ll get the results on January 31, 2023. The paper consists of 101 questions.
The XAT exam is divided into two parts with a set number of questions to attempt. The Part 1 comprises decision making (21), QA and DI (28), and VA and LR (26).
The part 2 comprises GK (25), and one essay writing. The exam duration is 190 minutes.
NMAT: The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) conducts the NMAT exam. Applicants can take this test thrice if they fail to do well in the initial one.
The time gap between each exam should be 15 days. The exam is categorized into three sections, namely, quantitative skills, language skills, and logical reasoning.
The paper will have 108 questions to attempt and the exam duration is 2 hours. The application window opens from August and ends in October.
The main exam starts in November and goes till December. The results will be out in January.

With both rich English culture and diverse opportunities, 18 of the world's top 100 universities are located in the UK. Known globally for its art, literature, and design courses - not just to mention maths and computer science degrees - it is no wonder that this localised education system is considered to be the best in the world.
●Canada

Talking about the University of Toronto and Queen's University both of which are ranked among the best in Canada offer programs spanning Engineering, Commerce, and Arts degrees.
●Australia
Australia is known for its excellent schools, high-quality education, and amazing job opportunities. With 7 Australian universities in the top 100 of QS' 2022 rankings, the Australian education system ranks among the best in the world. Australian universities also have a presence in other countries through their research centers.
Aside from the aforementioned countries, only a few European countries have a well-balanced higher education system. In reality, numerous nations, like Germany and the Netherlands, have built a niche for specific types of courses (fields).
Since lakhs of applicants will be competing with each other for this exam, the competition is always intense. This adds a lot of pressure for the applicants to do well in the test. Having good preparation isn’t the complete recipe to score better in this better, but there’s more than what meets the eye. Here are a few key do’s and don’ts to remember before taking the exam.
Carry These Things With You: Every CAT applicant must and should carry their CAT admit card and original ID card like Aadhar Card, Driving License, and PAN card. You are not allowed to sit for the exam if you fail to take these two aforementioned things.
Take More Mock Tests: Once you are done with your preparation, start solving mock tests as many as possible. The more you take these mocks, the better you’ll comprehend the structure and kinds of questions you are likely to expect in CAT. These mocks will prepare you for the big day, making you know where you stand with your preparation.
Get More Sleep Before The Big Day: When exams are closer to the big day, students swamp their mind with pressurizing thoughts. To do well in exams like CAT, you have to be calm and composed within. For that to happen, you need to have a goodnight sleep before the exam day.
Don’t Prepare Anything New Before The Exam: A lot of CAT applicants are seen with books in their hands just before the exam. This is absolutely wrong. You can do your revision before you head to the exam but don’t take up anything new. This will only add stress on your exam day. For exams like CAT, it’s pivotal to prepare properly from day 1, and not last-minute calls.
Don’t Procrastinate: Time won’t wait for you, and CAT is one such exam that decides your success based on your speed and accuracy. So, don’t wait up thinking about that one question. When it comes to CAT preparation, take small gaps in between, that’s it. Don’t carry over today’s study plan for tomorrow. This will only disrupt your study plan, giving you the onus to design a new strategy from scratch again.
Don’t Get Stuck Solving One Question: Sometimes, the applicant gets stuck with one question, solving and figuring out the right option. This happens mostly with Quantitative Aptitude, as it’s a bit strenuous section for students coming from diverse backgrounds. The best thing you can do is keep that question for review and come back after solving other questions. Most importantly, mark the answer only if you are 100% affirmative. Because one wrong answer can take away one mark from your total score. Keep moving forward, and keep solving before the session comes to an end.
CAT exam tests your logical ability of how swift you are in problem-solving. To get through such exams, you have to be aplomb inside and drive forward. Follow all the do’s and don’ts shared above and make yourself ready to nail the CAT.
The hearing has reportedly been scheduled for December 6.
Thousands of students had earlier opted for improvement exams in the offline mode after CBSE board declared their marks using the 30:30:40 evaluation policy.
However, as per the plea filed, many of them have either been declared failed or have been awarded very less marks in the improvement exams held in August-September this year, while earlier they had been declared pass during the alternate assessment.
The plea filed by students has further sought a direction to the concerned authorities to maintain the original result and not treat the improvement exam results as final.
The plea mentioned that the idea of offline examination was to give an opportunity to students to improve their marks and not to put them in disadvantage or to declare those, who were already declared pass, as failed.
During the hearing, the Board ruled that the request had come at the eleventh hour and thus cannot be considered currently. Both the sides presented their arguments following which this order was passed. The petition was filed by six students from the two boards which sought for exams to be held in a hybrid model with both online and offline options.
They had sought the hybrid model citing that the offline exams could increase the risk of Covid-19 infection among students. It is pertinent to mention that the CBSE, ICSE Term 1 Board Exams 2022 have already started and are being held in offline mode and after the verdict, it is all set to continue as per schedule.

The Supreme Court on Monday (Nov 15) adjourned the hearing of the plea submitted by the CBSE and CISCE students to November 18. The petitioners have sought the conduct of the Board exams in the hybrid mode.
As per reports, the students submitted a plea with the Apex Court seeking an option for online mode along with the center-based offline exams. Earlier, CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations) had given an option to students to choose their preferred mode of giving exam, but the Council later revised the exam dates and announced to hold exams in offline mode only, like CBSE.
It is to be noted, that students of both CBSE and CISCE have filed the concerned petition at the Supreme Court, citing that conducting exams in offline mode will “continuously expose the students and increase the risk of infection to Covid-19 rendering the impugned action as arbitrary and in violation of Right to Health.”
The plea mentioned that with the minor subjects scheduled for November and the major in December, both in physical mode, there is a likelihood that the exams for major subjects may turn into a super spreader event.
The plea further added that online exams will facilitate social distancing and reduce strain on logistical constraints.
Citing the ongoing pandemic and a possible third wave in the country, the students have stated that since most of them fall below the age of 18, they are yet to receive Covid-19 vaccine jab, which makes them feel unsafe. There is thus apprehension over giving exams in the offline mode.
Students have also expressed their apprehensions regarding the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format in which the Term 1 paper will be set. It is also being alleged that many schools have not given proper training to the students regarding the MCQ pattern, which has made it difficult for students to prepare for their exams.
A few other students have also expressed fear in using public transport, in case of those who don’t have any private vehicle to commute to their respective examination centres. Additionally, issues of incomplete syllabus, viva, practical, and a short duration of 2 months for Term 2 exams, have added to the woes of the students.
It is to be noted that as per CBSE Term 1 date sheet, the minor papers for Class 10 and 12 will begin from November 17 and 16, respectively. CBSE is scheduled to release admit cards for Term-1 exams on November 9.

In an earlier circular released by the board, the Board had announced that over 50 per cent questions in CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exam 2022 Term 1 examination will be on competency-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
Even though the sample papers released by CBSE provide the paper pattern, according to the Board, many teachers and students are still not clear about the nature of MCQs asked in it.
Thus, the board again clarified with school teachers regarding the question pattern for different subjects through video conferencing. In the meeting, it was clarified that for Science subject, Competency-based MCQs are different from complex case-based MCQs and can be a diagram, table or labelling based MCQ.
This competency-based education applies to Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects of CBSE Class 12 Term 1 Boards as well. For Mathematics, the board has used the same parameters to set the questions.
For English Term 1 paper, Board clarified that MCQs will not be asked based on standard format for letters, stories, articles, etc. The questions will require the students to use their reading, understanding, analytical and decision making skills, while assertion/ reason based MCQs can be asked in the Literature and Reading section.
The first term board exams for class 10 will start from November 30 whereas exams for class 12 students will commence from December 1, 2021. This year, CBSE has decided to conduct two board exams instead of a single annual exam pattern which was followed till last year.
The decision was taken keeping in view the pandemic situation. The term two exams for secondary and senior secondary students are likely to be conducted in February-March 2022.
Shedding more light on the rules and plans, CBSE Controller of examinations Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj told a national media (TOI), that the students will be allowed to use only pens during the exams.
He also mentioned that an extra blank space/circle will be given in the OMR sheets as an option for students wanting to change their responses. If four options to answer a particular question are provided, there will be an additional blank space.
If the students, during revising or for any other reason, realise that they have marked the wrong choice, they can strike it off, darken the correct circle and write the same in the additional space provided, Bhardwaj said.
Furthermore, the CBSE controller informed that respective schools of the candidates would be conducting the practical exams for Term 1 paper.
However, keeping in view the present Covid situation and with the vaccination drive gathering pace, CBSE is expecting to conduct the practical exams for students for Term 2 paper.
Meanwhile, speaking about the marking system, Bhardwaj informed that "the number of questions will vary for different subjects. But each question will carry equal marks. Also, students will get options, for example they may have a choice to attempt 30 questions out of 35 questions."
A software called "OASIS" has been developed through which the CBSE-affiliated schools will provide the details of all the students to the board. Thus the school cannot provide wrong information and figures as the information about the teachers, infrastructures and several other details are needed to be updated.
Reportedly, several CBSE-affiliated schools in the district were found violating the rule where the number of students in a class is more than 50. The board has also served show cause notice to the schools where the number of students in the class is 50 or more.

Giving much relief to the Class 10 students, the Board had earlier extended the passing criteria and now they need to get only 33 per cent marks in theory and practical combined to get through the Board exam.
Therefore, the students need a one-stop solution- a platform by the CBSE to clear all their doubts... And for that a 'Citizen’s Charter’ is needed. The Board has meanwhile said that formation of the same is ‘in process’.
The idea behind the Citizen’s Charter is to provide a single platform to for public services and look into their queries in case something goes wrong. This charter also makes citizens aware of their rights and other important rules and regulations.
Unable to find the same on the Board's website, one Mohit Kumar Gupta has reportedly filed a Right to Information (RTI) to the Ministry of Human Resources Department (MHRD) seeking information about the citizen charter, The Pioneer reported.
“It is informed that the preparation of Citizen Charter in respect of CBSE is in process,” CBSE replied to the RTI query.
“CBSE being an all Indian institution and prominent school board must cater to the information deficiency gap existing for students, parents and other stakeholders. The spirit of transparency and accountability must prevail and grievance redressal for students be incorporated through strict implementation of citizen charter,” The Pioneer quoted Gupta as saying.
Faulty evaluations not only disappoints students but also mars their future... Taking cognizance of this, the Board has reportedly warned evaluators that they could be expelled for their carelessness during the evaluation process.
“Our aim is to make the evaluation process error-free. We have engaged the best and most experienced teachers for evaluation and issued fresh guidelines apart from conducting several rounds of training to eliminate common mistakes done by teachers. Besides, there will be CCTV surveillance in evaluation centres,” Times of India quoted CBSE secretary, Anurag Tripathi as saying.
He further said that the evaluators, apart from the given guideline for evaluating the answer sheets, have been given the liberty to give marks for creative and innovative answers.
"We welcome the tough stance of CBSE towards evaluation of papers as it adversely affect the life of students. All hard works and future of a student shouldn't be ruined because of someone's callous attitude," said a parent.
CBSE recently released the date sheets for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams. The CBSE Class 10 board exam 2019 will begin on February 21 and go on till March 29 while the Class 12 board exam will begin in March.

It is said that as students are allowed with some element of choice in the choosing their subjects, they should have the choice of picking one of two levels within that subject.
As per NCF, with an aim to reduce overall student stress levels, the Board has decided to introduce two levels of examination in Mathematics for the students who are going to appear in the Board examination for the academic session ending March 2020 onwards.
The details of this scheme are as under:
1. The two levels of Examination will be held in the subject of Mathematics in the Board examination for Class X in the year 2020 and the same shall not be applicable to the internal assessment in class X.
2. There shall not be two levels of Assessment/Examination for class IX.
3. First level would be the same as the existing one, and the other would be an easier level.
4. The nomenclature for the two Examinations will be; Mathematics-Standard for the existing level of examination, and Mathematics-Basic for the easier level of examination.
5. The syllabus, class room teaching and internal assessment for both the levels of examination would remain the same; so that the students get an opportunity to study the whole range of topics throughout the year and are able to decide upon the level of Board examination depending upon their aptitude and abilities.
6. The Standard level will be meant for students who wish to opt for Mathematics at Sr. Secondary level and the Basic level would be for students not keen to pursue Mathematics at higher levels.
7. A student will have the right to choose between the two levels of Examination at the time of submission of List of Candidates (LoC) by the affiliated school to the Board online. In case student fails at any level of Mathematics, he/she can appear at the compartment examination as per norms of the Board according to the options given below:
8. In case of failure in Compartment options Mathematics, he/she can appear at the compartment examination as per norms of the Board.
With the introduction of this, students can get an option to attempt questions on either C++ or Python language.
In its recent release, CBSE said that the questions on Python has been kept optional as a few schools have the chapter on this language in the academic year 2017-19. The Computer Science exam is scheduled to be held on March 28.

“Curriculum will be reviewed to ensure holistic education in which there will be time for physical education, value education, life-skills education and experiential learning. The curriculum needs to be reduced and it has been decided to reduce it by 50 %. So, there will be 10-15 % reduction this year. it will be more next year and by 2021, it will be,” Javadekar said.
Javadekar also said the number of NCERT textbooks published this year would go up from 6 crore last year to 8 crore this year to ensure adequate supply.
The Class 10th exams will begin from February 21 to March 29 whereas Class 12th exams will be held between February 15 and April 3.

CBSE has also decided to continue with the changed passing criteria for Class 10 for the second consecutive year. The revised passing criteria require students to score combined 33% mark to pass- it includes internal assessment (practical marks) and external (board exam) marks.
On the other hand, CBSE chairman Anita Karwal had earlier said that the date sheet for the CBSE Class 10, 12 examinations 2019 will be released within the second week of January.
Moreover, CBSE will conduct the vocational examinations in February while exams of the core subjects are likely to begin from March 1, 2019.
Citing an example, Union Minister Satya Pal Singh said in Kolkata on Thursday that when students of the CBSE and various state boards seek admission in the under-graduate level of a university furnish their marksheets, it is found that their marks range from 98 per cent to 85 per cent.
Vasities then have to make a comparison between papers of various boards and make a ratio for the admission formula, he said.
"We have already sent an instruction to the CBSE to discuss with other state boards on the issue," the union minister of state for human resources development was quoted by PTI as saying.
Meanwhile, the board is now in the process of discussing the issue and reportedly considering maintaining awarding marks remained in the domain of school education department of the respective state boards.
There were reports that CBSE would release the date sheet by the end of December this year but new reports suggest that it will be released by mid January next year.

Moreover, the board has revised the question paper format for both class 10 and 12. As per the circular released, the number of internal choices has been increased by about 33%. Almost all the core subjects will have 11 internal choices in various questions.
CBSE has also decided to continue with the changed passing criteria for class 10 for the second consecutive year. The revised passing criteria require students to score combined 33% mark to pass- it includes internal assessment (practical marks) and external (board exam) marks.

It’s necessary for aspirants to identify their week areas and work on it first but that doesn’t mean you forget other things. But working on the week points make you confident enough and may help you score more.
How to identify you week area? You can go through the syllabus or previous year question papers to get it identified and then you can have books for the same to strengthen the area.
Regular practice of set papers, especially sets that are at par with the previous year question papers in terms of difficulty level and analytical skill, is necessary.

The High Court had said, “This court has every reason to believe that there is a hidden agenda between CBSE officials and private book publishers. That’s the reason why even a direction to use the NCERT books alone is being appealed by the CBSE. The CBSE is bound to follow the NCERT syllabus, which has been prescribed by experts.”
Besides, the HC directed CBSE to strictly use the NCERT supplied textbooks for students in its affiliated schools.
The HRD ministry has told the board to follow the HC order and make the NCERT syllabus and books mandatory in schools. “This has been communicated to the board. NCERT is publishing books in bulk and they have an excellent online system,” News18.com quoted an official from the ministry as saying.

Citing a few media reports, CBSE said that mis-representing facts certain news under titles such as- “Dragged to court, CBSE clarifies fee for copy of answer sheets”, “Big relief for CBSE students: examination answer sheets to now be made available at Rs 2 per page”, “Ready to provide copy of answer sheets to candidates at Rs 2 per page: CBSE tells SC”- were published.
It is therefore pertinent to clarify that CBSE is already complying with RTI rules for charging fee for photocopies of answer sheets, the release read.
"The order of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 29.10.2018 is reproduced here for public information: “It is stated that for furnishing photocopies of the answer-sheets fee as per the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005 and Rules is being charged whereas if re-verification/re-valuation/re-totalling/re-checking of the answer-sheets/scripts along with the photocopies thereof is sought, fee as per the CBSE Regulations is charged.
Consequently, all similar applications have been closed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court. As the RTI Act does not stipulate re-valuation/re/totalling of marks, the candidates who desire to have their answer sheets re-evaluated or their marks re-totalled, have to go through a separate procedure which requires them to pay the fee as prescribed by the Board."

Besides, candidates who seek copies of answer sheets, under RTI Act are charged Rs 2 per page and Rs 10 as application fee mandated in the RTI Act. These are two separate processes and the board does not interlink them, the Board clarified.
For completing all the above mentioned activities successfully, CBSE has sought complete and correct data from the schools related to teachers. To facilitate the schools, the Board has introduced OASIS as a single window solution for many activities. Accordingly, OASIS has been used for Registration and LOC purposes.
The Board said in its notification that to ensure all preparations, timely and error fee, CBSE requires correct details of Principal/Vice Principal/Head Master/Head Mistress/PGT/TGT etc from schools.
As per the notification, the steps that should be followed during checking and updating data are:
1. Delete the name of teachers who are not on rolls of the school
2. Add names of teachers who are on the rolls of the school
3. Update the subject being taught by each teacher
4. No. of years of teaching experience as Principal/Vice Principal/Head Master/Head
Mistress/PGT/TGT etc. as the case may be.
5. All the schools are requested to provide the correct and complete data.
6. Data of all the teachers be given in OASIS.

CBSE's recent direction is in line with its aims to increase the number of evaluation centres this year and so wants to appoint more functionaries in order to ensure error free and timely evaluation of answer books.
Meanwhile, the schools have been directed to complete the data correction activity by November 30, 2018.
As per the feedback received from various stakeholders, members of Committee of Courses and the subject experts, there is an increase in internal choice in the Question Papers in some subjects both for classes X and XII, the circular of CBSE read.
There is an increase in internal choice of approximately 33 percent in all the sections and for each type of question, it further said.
As per the Sample Question papers and marking scheme released by the board, it seems the board has made changes in the examinations this year by providing more internal choices making the exams a bit easier for the students.
Students can visit the official website of the Board, cbse.nic.in, for the sample papers and marking scheme.
Meanwhile, the CBSE is yet to announce dates for the Board exams which is expected to be held earlier this year.
Under the new bylaws, the application process has been made simple by reducing the paperwork from 14 documents to just two.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the Board will soon start processing an application for affiliation with just a no-objection certificate (NOC) and a self-sworn affidavit in hand.

The affidavit is to prove that a particular school is following the CBSE’s infrastructure and fee norms.
“There was a lot of duplicity of work. Earlier, once a school had the nod of the state government, the CBSE would reverify all the aspects already checked by the state government. This turned into a long-drawn process. Now the Board will not revisit any of the aspects already covered by the state government at the time of giving the school an NOC,” said Javadekar.
Besides, the HRD minister tweeted, "CBSE has done many changes in giving affiliation process to the schools; we have avoided unnecessary duplication of NOC at state level and centre level."

CBSE in a release said, "It has now been decided to extend the same passing criteria henceforth for the students of Secondary classes i.e. candidates appearing for Class X examination in 2019 onwards will have to secure overall 33% (both taken together) in the subjects to be eligible to pass that subject."
On the other hand, CBSE has recently shortlisted 1700 schools affiliated to it to penalize for violating norms as they are not allowed to register over 40 students per section but the Board found out many schools violating the norms.
A CBSE notification in this regard read, “Schools should enter number of sections and number of students which should be in consonance with the information provided on OASIS. This information should be filled very carefully in OASIS as schools will not be allowed to change the declared section/strength afterwards.”
The Board affiliated private schools are not allowed to register over 40 students per section but the CBSE has found out that many schools are violating the norms following which the Board has decided to impose a fine of Rs 500 per extra student.
Besides, CBSE will also issue a show-cause notice for withdrawal of affiliation for those schools.
This move of CBSE is expected to root out renting of seats by schools where students get registered in schools and join private coaching centers, reported TOI.

CBSE has reportedly decided to exempt students from the mandatory percentage norm and extend the rule where students have to achieve a combined 33% of marks to pass the exam.
Presently, students are required to secure 33% in Class 10 board exam and 33% in internal assessment.
CBSE may take a call related to it this week and if implemented, students have to achieve a combined 33% of marks to pass the exam, ThePrint reported citing authoritative sources.
A senior Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry official told ThePrint that the relaxation could now be granted for the next year too.
“The relaxation was given as a one-time measure but we feel that there is a need to extend it for next year too,” ThePrint quoted a senior Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry official as saying.
Pressure on students will be eased when they don't require to secure 33% marks each for the theory and the practicals. But CBSE will take a final call on the issue, he added.

On the other hand, from next year onwards, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be holding exams for ‘skill education’ (vocational) and related subjects in the second half of February, the Board said on Wednesday.
However, the examination for the core academic subjects such as languages, maths, and science subjects will continue to be held in March.
All affiliated schools are required to register themselves before proceeding for online registration of their students. For classes IX/XI, schools are advised to offer only those subjects which have been permitted to them by the Board, the release read.
The circular also stated that, in case, school sponsors students in subject(s) other than those permitted by the Board, it may lead to action against the school, in addition to cancellation of candidature of such students.
While the Board has set Rs 150 as the registration fee per student, it is extending several exemptions/concessions to candidates with disabilities as defined in the "The Rights of Persons With Disabilities Act 2016."
The schedule for Online Registration of Students is from October 1 to October 22, which is without late fee. However, there will be a late fee of Rs 500 for registration from October 23 to October 30.
Similarly, Rs 1000, Rs 2000 and Rs 5000 for registration from October 31 to November 12, November 13 to November 20 and November 21 to November 28, respectively.

Meanwhile, students will have to make the choice during filling of forms for the exam later this year, HT reported citing officials familiar with the development.
Depending on the success of the above plan, the Board may introduce the same system in Class 12. Moreover, a 15-member committee has reportedly been formed comprising mathematics experts and others to look into it.

“The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) document states that all subjects should be examined at two levels by the board, beginning with maths and English. It also said that students should have the choice between higher and standard level,” HT quoted a maths expert as saying.
Meanwhile, the board exams of Class 10 and Class 12 students (opting vocational subjects) are likely to begin in February next year.
However, bypassing the law of the apex court, CBSE had reportedly published a notification prescribing fee of Rs 1,200 for students of 12th and Rs 1,000 for Class 10th students to obtain the evaluated answer-sheets.
According to the report of The Hindu, the Board had earlier also charged Rs 700 per copy of an answer sheet in 2016, and made it compulsorily for students to go through the process of marks' verification by paying another Rs 300.
Meanwhile, the SC has issued a notice while hearing a petition, filed by co-founders of the Whistle for Public Interest (WHIP) Kumar Shanu and Paras Jain (as reported by Jagran Josh), seeking action against CBSE for violating its order and has asked the board to respond to the plea within six weeks.
As per reports, CBSE is preparing a draft report with recommendations on relaxations and exemptions for the differently and specially-abled students.
"We are working on the draft report... Meanwhile, we have already implemented many relaxations for the 'Children With Special Needs' (CWSN) in board exams in 2018. We have discussed our viewpoint with many state boards in the national workshops," IANS quoted a senior official from the board as saying.
Though the exact release date of the report is yet to be decided, the board is likely to submit it before the curriculum committee by the end of this year.

A bench comprising justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and Ashok Bhushan issued notices to the Centre, the CBSE and the Kerala government on the plea by a group of 170 medical aspirants and posted the matter for hearing on July 10.
The group of aspirants have challenged the Delhi High Court's May 11 judgement dismissing the pleas challenging the MCI notification laying down the upper age limit of 25 and 30 years for general and reserved categories respectively to apply for NEET for MBBS and BDS courses.
However, the high court had struck down a clause in the notification which bars students from the open schools or those who have studied privately from appearing in the test.
During the brief hearing today, the counsel appearing for the students told the apex court that the limitation of 25 years was "completely arbitrary".
According to the January 22 notification, candidates who have studied in open school, students who have had biology or biotechnology as an additional subject and those who have taken more than two years to complete their 11th and 12th and students who have studied privately were not eligible to apply for the examination.
The High Court, while passing its interim order earlier on February 28, had made it clear that while the candidates will be allowed to submit their application for the entrance test, it does not mean they can sit for the examination which was held on May 6.
The High Court's verdict had come on several petitions moved by medical aspirants who were aggrieved by several other eligibility norms barring them from applying for the NEET-UG for which the last date for submission of application was March 9.

The third position was held by seven students who got 497 marks out of 500, the officials said.
Official sources said as many as 11,86, 306 students took the board exams at 4,138 centres in India and 71 centres. The exams were held between March 5 and April 13.
However, the economics test was rescheduled on April 25 after it was cancelled due to reports of question paper leak.
Though there was also a report of the CBSE Std. 10 maths papers being leaked, the board officials refused for re-scheduling of the exam.
Last year, CBSE class 12 results were announced at the end of May and the results of Std.10 were announced in the first week of June.
