Amid apprehension of scarcity of seats among the recently-passed Class 10 students, the Odisha Government on Monday assured them of smooth and hassle-free enrolment at higher secondary schools and technical institutions.
In a major update regarding CBSE 2021 Board exams, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Friday (June 25) informed that the students of Class 10 and 12 who are dissatisfied with their results can appear for the optional exams in August.
Nishank, who is in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) undergoing treatment for post-Covid complications, said students have been sending him messages with their queries and apprehensions.
The CBSE and CISCE boards have told the Supreme Court that class 12 board examination results would be declared by July 31 and the students, desirous of taking up the board examination physically of CBSE can do so between August 15 to September 15, subject to conducive pandemic situation.

Nishank said that the students who are not satisfied with their result under this process will be given an opportunity to appear in the examination to be conducted by the CBSE if the conditions are favourable.
While the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination) have already come up with the evaluation formula for Class 12 exams, all eyes are now on the criteria the Odisha CHSE Board is going to adopt.
