The Central Board of Secondary Education on Monday released its special assessment scheme for the board examinations of class 10 and class 12 for the academic session 2021-2022.
Vide clause 14 of the “Result Tabulation Policy for Class 12", the schools were informed to use average of best three subjects for awarding marks in Class 11 in respect of the subject that has been changed from Class-9 to Class-12.
"These Boards are independent Boards. They have taken decision to cancel exams which, according to them, is in larger public interest of the students."
The Central Board Of Secondary Education has informed the Supreme Court that results of Class XII Board Examination 2021 for CBSE will be declared by July 31. The top court had suggested developing a dispute resolution mechanism, the CBSE said, disputes regarding computation of results will be referred to a committee constituted by the board.
A parents' association and students flagged several concerns with regard to the CBSE and ICSE schemes for evaluation for Class 12 results and said that many clauses are arbitrary and would be detrimental to future prospects of the students.
Ending all speculations, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday revealed the evaluation criteria for awarding marks to Class 12 students. The Board apprised the Supreme Court that the marks will be decided on the basis of the performance in Class 10th, Class 11th and Class 12th.
CBSE is most likely to end the suspense this week. The prolonged wait of Class 12 students regarding evaluation criteria this year is finally going to end on Wednesday or latest by Thursday.
The marks of Mathematics Standard shall be awarded in such a manner that the overall average of both Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic for 2020-2021 is up to the average of Mathematics in the reference year.
The committee, which comprises Joint Secretary Education, Vipin Kumar, Commissioners of the Kendriya and Navodaya Vidyalayas, and representatives from the CBSE, and UGC among other, will have to submit its report in 10 days.
A bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari asked Attorney General K K Venugopal and advocate J K Das, appearing for the CISCE, to place on record the parameters within two weeks.
The decision by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) came on the lines of cancellation of the board exams by CBSE, which was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
