Sitharaman remarked that India attaches great significance to presenting this statement before the global community since it unanimously voices the view of BRICS countries on the critical aspects underpinning current international policy conversations on post-pandemic recovery.
The meeting, chaired by NSA Ajit Doval, also reviewed the regional and global political and security scenario with particular focus on current developments in Afghanistan as well as Iran and West Asia.
The implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development noted that BRICS countries are well-positioned to take a leading role in helping to achieve the objectives of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals to eradicate hunger and poverty.
