The actors were earlier seen arriving at the H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Girgaon, Mumbai, for delivery. Reports said, the couple arrived at the hospital at around 7:30 am. They were accompanied by Ranbir Kapoor’s mother Neetu Kapoor, Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan and sister Shaheen Bhatt.
Earlier, Alia Bhatt was spotted promoting her movies with a baby bump. Earlier, the Student of the Year actress had shared a picture from her ultrasound lab.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the actress wrote, “Our baby… coming soon,” with emojis of love and heart.
On the professional front, the couple have had a successful year with 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' sealing Alia's well-deserved reputation as a talented actress and 'Brahmastra' reviving Ranbir's flagging career graph. Alia also made news because of her Hollywood foray with the Gal Gadot-starrer 'Heart of Stone', set to be released in 2023,
The newborn child will truly be the crowning glory for an eventful year for the couple.
In June, Alia took the world by surprise by announcing her pregnancy with a picture featuring Ranbir on her Instagram handle. She has also launched a line of maternity wear named Edamama.
The mommy-to-be has been busy in promotions and movie shootings all throughout her pregnancy. Recently, the Kapoor Khandaan and Bhatt ladies also hosted a baby shower for Alia Bhatt.
For the unversed, Alia got heavily trolled for repeating 'Shiva' in each of her dialogues. Trolls targeted the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress for such lame dialogues in the movie, who had earlier impressed the audience with her spectacular performance in several movies. Now, after the audience, it is her husband and co-star Ranbir, who took a dig at her for the same reason.
Brahmastra helmer Ayan Mukerji shared a video of Ranbir in which he is seen interacting over a phone call. As seen in the video, Ranbir says, " No bhai, I'm done with Brahmastra promotions, I'm done with Ayan Mukerji."
Ranbir continued, "Brahmastra is coming on Disney+ Hotstar, so that means, promotions, and more promotions and more more more promotions."
"Even Alia hasn't repeated 'Shiva' so many times," he added.
Later, he went on explaining about his and Alia's efforts in the movie. He also went on to say, "Should I go to every doorstep and request everyone that Brahmastra will release on Disney+ Hotstar, so please do watch."
"Now, should I say to everyone that light is coming, light is coming, light has already arrived, Happy Diwali. Brahmastra is monstrous hit," he added.
Further, expressing his frustrations, Ranbir said, "Does Ayan think that apart from Brahmastra I have no life? I'm about to become a father soon."
Well, he was interrupted by Ayan in the middle of the conversation. While talking to Ayan, Ranbir said everyone must promote Brahmastra and let everyone know that light is coming.
Well, the video certainly was a promotional stunt as the OTT release date for Brahmastra is locked.
However, Ayan's caption for the video was more hilarious and seemed to be more like a warning.
His caption read: "Ranbir, I hope you're reading this from your secret Instagram account-- you have 2 more parts to go on Brahmastra so better be nice to me !!!"
After the overwhelming success of Brahmastra and the massive appreciation for Kesariya song, the makers dropped the dance mix version of the number. Touted as the ‘romantic anthem’ of the year, while the original version of the song has garnered over 265 million views, the dance mix version has over 19 million views.
It is not just within India that music lovers have showered love for the song, even residents of London have also a craze for the song. Here we bring a video that shows Londoners grooving to Kesariya along with several Indians on the streets of London.
The video shows a singer performing Kesariya. Meanwhile, a large crowd is seen enjoying his performance. Along with several Indians and Indian-origins, several Londoners are seen shaking their legs and hands.
The magic of Kesariya seems to have driven the music lovers in London crazy. Meanwhile, the audience is seen cheering the singer for his melodious voice.
Earlier, Kesariya's audio teaser rang at the Times Square Godzilla in New York and LA Marriot. It seems, the hangover of Kesariya still continues to remain among many people.

It was Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin that made her a household name and even today while the franchise comes with new actresses as Naagin every season, it's Mouni who is still considered the original Naagin of Indian television.
Mouni's journey has been full of struggle and it’s the resilience and dedication of the Bong beauty that has now gained her an entry into the A-listed circle of Bollywood.

Mouni Roy is a student of Kendriya Vidyala from Cooch Behar and left her Mass Communication graduation degree halfway to shift to Bollywood as she was very much interested in acting right from her childhood. Her big break came with Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi which had a fantastic run on television.
From participating in dance reality shows to doing a few other serials, Mouni continued to explore her options in the television industry. But it was her role as Sati in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and the title role of Naagin that brought her under the scanner of biggies from the Bollywood world.
The big break came with Akshay Kumar’s 'Gold'

It was followed by two more movies viz. Romeo Akbar Walter and Made in China.
While the first movie was a dud at the box office, the second one was declared a commercial success.

It has become the highest grosser of 2022. Now, fans cannot contain their excitement for the second instalment of the trilogy.
While the makers have teased its sequel titled ‘Brahmasta: Part Two- Dev ’, fans are busy in the guessing game. As per Ayan Mukerji, Dev will be the fulcrum of the entire Brahmastra trilogy.
Actually #ShahRukhKhan𓀠 is #dev of #Brahmastra 🤔
— Amit Karn (@amitkarn99) September 26, 2022
The director said that the sequel will switch between the past and the present and showcase how Dev impacts the universe. Along with Dev’s story, the sequel will unfold about the problems faced by the community and the world because of Brahmastra.
While, Ayan targets to release the movie by 2025, there are several theories circulating on social media as to who Dev is? Earlier, there were reports that Dev is Shiva’s father and will be played by Ranbir Kapoor himself.
However, many fans speculated that Ranveer Singh has been roped in to play Dev as Deepika Padukone was seen as Ranbir’s mother in the movie.
Meanwhile, film journalist and film enthusiast Amit Karn has tweeted that Dev is actually superstar Shah Rukh Khan , who played the role of scientist Mohan Bhargava in the first part. The announcement has sent Twitter into tizzy as fans began speculating further.
A fan commented, “If SRK is dev, then it will be more suspense than why Kataapa killed Baahubali.”
Another fan commented, “Going by visuals and looks, I genuinely felt that it was SRK. But now when Ayan has confirmed that SRK is the Iron Man of Astraverse, maybe he is giving us some hints!”
However, other fans said that Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Dev. While Shah Rukh Khan fans want to see him play the part of Dev, others are eager to see Ranveer and Deepika as Dev and Amrita in Brahmastra 2.
On the other hand, SRK impressed audience with his cameo appearance. Many expressed disappointment as his character was extremely limited. Fans wanted to see more of SRK as Vanarastra. Crazy fans have even started an online petition urging the makers to bring SRK in the sequel with more emphasised character.

Since a few days, many have been holding the high ticket prices at different multiplexes as well as single-screen theatres responsible for the low turnouts. While high ticket prices are restricting the common people from accessing the multiplexes, many fail to grab a ticket at a cheap price at single-screen theatres for the rush of the hour.
Such opinion has sparked a debate among many as almost all theatres and multiplexes across several states were houseful after the ticket prices were slashed for celebrating the spirit of cinema.
The sole motto of observing National Cinema Day was to celebrate the successful reopening of theatres after the pandemic. It was an attempt by the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) to express 'Thank You' to the moviegoers as they played a pivotal role in reviving the cinema industry after the pandemic.
Gal 'Wonder Woman' Gadot plays the lead character, CIA Agent Rachel Stone, with Jamie Dornan, an actor and musician from North Ireland who first got noticed in 'Fifty Shades of Gray', 'Hotel Rwanda' and 'Criminal Justice' star Sophie Okonedo, and Alia, who essays the part of Stone's understudy, Keya Dhawan.
The teaser is loaded with high-adrenaline action showing Gadot doing what she's best at -- kick some hostile ass. "Rachel Stone lives off the adrenaline she's addicted to," says Gadot in the teaser.
"It is going to be extremely epic ... a super grounded raw action thriller," she promises her fans, who are eagerly awaiting the film's 2023 release on Netflix.
Says Alia: "It has these characters that you really connect with and feel." To which Gadot adds: "We really wanted to keep it realistic so that people can feel the pain."
With slashed price, the ticket price at multiplexes as well as the single theatres was equal.
Though it has been initiated by the Multiplex Association of India (MAI), several single-screen theatres also have participated in it. A statement released by the MAI confirmed that over 4000 screens including PVR, INOC, CINEPOLIS, CARNIVAL, MIRAJ, CIYTPRIDE, MUKTA A2, MOVIE TIME, WAVE, M2K, DELITE and many others participated to embark the big day.
The move was to celebrate the successful reopening of theatres after the Covid-19 pandemic and an attempt to express 'Thank You' to the moviegoers as they have played a vital role in reviving the cinema after the pandemic. Also, it is an invitation to those movie lovers who remained away from the theatres following the Covid restrictions.
However, due to certain State Regulations, w.r.t. cinemas and ticket pricing, in some states namely Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala were unable to participate in the National Cinema Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, excitement among movie lovers in Odisha is no way behind. Several theatres including multiplexes were crowded with movie lovers. The crowded theatres confirm that Odisha was no way behind in celebrating the big day.
While 'Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva' has been roaring at the box office, the National Cinema Day celebrations have augmented the excitement among all. Reportedly. Brahmastra recorded the highest advance ticket booking and broke its own record of day-one ticket sales.
Even several other iconic movies that shattered several records recently and drove the entire world crazy were rereleased today. Movies like 'Pushpa: The Rise', 'RRR' and 'KGF: Chapter 2' have been rereleased at several theatres to draw the maximum number of movie lovers.
As per the latest reports, the first installment of the 'Astraverse' has already made Rs 6.82 crore (Hindi) from its advance booking so far. 'Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva' registered several new records with a mammoth gross collection at the box office globally. While the craze for the movie still prevails, now all eyes are on Brahmastra: Part Two: Dev, and the related updates.
It seems the boycott calls, controversies and all other negative aspects intending to affect the movie's collection worked in a diverse way. Here we bring you a collection of information from various sources related to the magnum opus and the trilogy of Brahmastra and its Astraverse.
By now, all are aware that the first installment of the Brahmastra trilogy was made at a whooping budget of Rs 410 crore. But, rumours were abuzz that the budget exceeded Rs 650 crore. However, recently, without revealing the precise budget figures of the movie, Ranbir in an interview clarified that the budget was not just for part one but for the entire trilogy. Informing about the budget, Ranbir said that the movie was a VFX-heavy project and a huge investment was required for building assets. This investment will also be used for future projects for which the budget of the first flick was higher.
It is well informed that the makers will come up with the sequel, Brahmastra: Part Two- Dev. Though there was an unexpected delay in bringing the first part, the makers are in no mood to delay the release of the sequel and triquel. Though it was earlier announced that Brahmastra is a planned trilogy, the maker recently dropped a hint that the magnum opus might have more installments.
During an interview, helmer Ayan Mukerji was quoted as saying "The possibility of exploring the Astraverse is endless. There are multiple films that can be made on the history and universe of every Astra."
Well, for the admirers of Brahmastra, such a hint is certainly exciting. The hint suggests that the makers might come up with more installment of Astraverse in which the audience will be able to explore more about the Astraverse. The movies will stress more persons wielding different Astras which clearly indicates the inclusion of several other prominent figures in the franchise.
'Brahmastra: Part Two- Dev' is now the topic of discussion among movie lovers. While all are aware that the sequel will have a prime focus on Dev and Amrita, the audience will see Ranbir aka Shiva locking horns with Dev. However, there is no information regarding the triquel. But, the makers have hinted at its making.
During an interview, director Ayan revealed that the team has planned to shoot both part two and part three together so that they don't delay the release dates and keep a long gap. It seems the makers have made up their minds not to keep the audience waiting for a long time for the sequel and triquel, like part one. Both part two and part three will be out in the theatres as per the schedule.
While the entire team is riding on the success of part one, several rumours and fan theories are doing rounds on social media platforms regarding the sequel. While reports of introducing Deepika Padukone as Amrita wielding Jalastra are strong, it is touted that Ranveer Singh will be seen as Dev in the sequel. However, even some speculate that Hrithik Roshan will be stepping into the Astraverse as Dev.
Apart from that, it is expected that the cameo appearances of Shah Rukh Khan as a scientist wielding Banarastra and Nagarjuna as artist Anish wielding Nandiastra might get a major boost in the sequel.
However, Ayan has admitted that he wasn't able to share enough about the Brahmastra. Talking about it, the director said, "What is it exactly, what is its creative possibility, destructive potential. So, definitely, Shiva and his connection with Brahmastra, how he managed to calm it down, it is a continuous track."
"As we get into Dev's story and part two's story, we have to and will bring a lot of focus on Brahmastra. Part one showed a layer of the story. In all three parts of Brahmastra, we will open by going deeper into the story." Ayan said.
Well, such revelation by the director is an eye opener for all who loved the movie and are anticipating part two, its update and release.
Shah Rukh Khan's cameo appearance as scientist Mohan Bhargav wielding Banarastra was extremely appreciated by several movie lovers. Even fans started a campaign to improvise the character and show more about SRK in the sequel. Meanwhile, the makers also have planned to spinoff the character. Apart that Nagarjuna's character as Anish, the artist, wielding Nandiastra was even quite impressive.
While all eyes are on the sequel, 'Brahmastra: Part Two- Dev' and the related updates, it is touted that the makers will introduce more characters wielding several other powers and astras (weapons). While the fan theories are beyond any discussion regarding Dev and Amrita's character in the sequel, several others have triggered a meme fest on social media including Salman.
As the posts suggest, Salman Khan will be a part of Brahmastra 2 and he will be wielding 'Deerastra'. Some other also have suggested 'Salodaastra' as the name for Salman's power.

Well, such memes have no authenticity and are just for fun.
But did you know why the Raazi girl repeatedly called out Shiva? Well, helmer Ayan Mukerji and Ranbir have come up with a clarification about the same.
Ranbir Kapoor said that the team of Brahmastra has a chat group called 'Brahmastra Feedback' where everyone gives feedback, share memes, and criticism. Even everyone makes fun of themselves.
Talking about the criticisim involving Alia, Ayan Mukerji said, "People are making fun of it. I think when I talk, I keep taking people's names a lot, this is my habit. So, that stayed in the script and came in the film as well."
Similarly, Ranbir Kapoor said, "We want to tell the audience that Alia and I would always ask Ayan that 'yaar, her name is Isha, my name is Shiva, do we have to keep saying it?' But Ayan was very particular that when someone is in love, they have to enjoy saying the name of the person they love. And I think that makes sense."
Well, Alia has multiple times proven her acting proficiency. Be it Raazi, Highway, Gangubai Kathiawadi or Darlings, she has been appreciated for nailing her character.
Now it is clear that the director's opinion to utter 'Shiva' multiple times would have forced the actress to do so. So what could she have done? Fans who have pinned high hopes on Alia and expectations mustn't get disheartened for her performance as Isha in Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva.
While the story plot, screenplay, dialogues and onscreen performance of the lead actors have received negative points, the visual effects in the movie got mostly appreciated.
Fans are still in awe of the visual spectacles in Brahmastra, which was never before been attempted in any Indian movie. Of course, the VFX played a major part in drawing the audience to the theatres.
To everyone's surprise, Subrat Padhi, hailing from Bari in Jajpur district has played a major part in enhancing the visual effects in the movie.
Reminiscing about his inspiration, Subrat said, "After my matriculation, I got enrolled for ITI. However, I was not interested in ITI. So, I used to spend time at a friend's studio. Later, I took his camera and learned to operate it. With time I also learned operating drones and used to work on different wedding projects."
"Later, I learned video editing from him. But, editing wedding videos wasn't enough, my hunger to learn more pushed me to learn more editing skills," he added.
Describing about his current profession of visual effects and his journey of being a part of Brahmastra, he said, "After Quantico, I joined Byjus and then Redefine which was a Bollywood-Hollywood studio. After joining the studio I was extremely elated as I got the opportunity to work in Bollywood movies and above all, it was my good fortune that I became a part of Brahmastra."
Expressing his delight, Subrat said, "The credit sequence that features the names of the technicians associated with the project delighted me after I watched Brahmastra in theatre."
"It won't be wrong to say, that technicians are the real heroes behind the screen. The technicians play a vital role in turning the movie appealing for which the actors are able to impress the movie-goers. Of course, we extend the most vital support to the movie and without us, it may not be possible to impress the audience," said Subrat.
The anticipation escalated after director Ayan Mukerji spilt the beans about the sequel during an exclusive interview. Indian Express quoted Ayan as saying, "Now we are really getting into the story of our antagonist. Dev is the fulcrum of the entire Brahmastra trilogy.”
Excited?#Brahmastra #Brahmastra2 #BrahmastraPart2Dev pic.twitter.com/NI5Nvq3yr3
— ABHISHEK RAJORA (@Abhishek98916) September 12, 2022
The director said the sequel will switch between the past and the present and showcase how Dev impacts the universe. Along with Dev's story, the sequel will unfold about the problems faced by the community and the world because of Brahmastra. Moreover, Ayan also revealed that he has set a target to release the sequel in 2025.
Following that, several theories have been circulating on social media, where fans and movie buffs have been speculating on several things.
Here, we bring some theories that you can expect in the sequel.
All are aware that Dev is Shiva's father and will be seen as the antagonist in the sequel, he will be extremely powerful. Several names have come up for Dev. It is speculated that Ranveer Singh has been roped in for Dev. Though the makers didn't reveal anything about Dev, his appearance was revealed from behind. As it seems from the looks, the person seems to be Ranveer.
On the other hand, it can also be expected that Ranbir will play a double role in the sequel, both Shiva and Dev. Such expectations can be made as Guru (Amitabh Bachchan) while interacting with Shiva mentioned that he (Shiva) made him remember about Dev. It won't be astonishing if Ranbir is seen portraying Dev's character as he was already seen in a double role in his previous movie Shamshera.
Though it is not officially confirmed and wasn't even revealed in the movie, it is touted that Deepika Padukone has portrayed the character of Amrita, Shiva's mother. The character's glance as Jalastra has a close resemblance with Deepika though.
However, several others are speculating that Alia might be seen as Amrita in the sequel. Even an image was shared on social media comparing a ring that Alia had on her finger with a ring of Amrita. Well, more will reveal with time.
Well, it seems, fans are more eager to see Ranveer and Deepika as Dev and Amrita in Brahmastra 2.

Shah Rukh Khan portrayed the character of scientist Mohan Bhargav, who wielded the Vanarastra. His cameo appearance in the first part had an impressive impact on the audience. However, many expressed disappointment as his character was extremely limited. Fans wanted to see more of SRK as Vanarastra. Following that, several crazy fans have started an online petition urging the makers to bring SRK in the sequel with more emphasised character.
On the other hand, the makers are even quite fascinated with the SRK's character. During the interview with Indian Express, Ayan said, “As we discovered the personality of the scientist, we said, ‘Yaar, we have to do stuff. We have to do the origins story of the scientist!'”
Further, he was also quoted as saying, “We were also vibing on that frequency, my assistants and I. So, I guess my response to the spin-off demand is that: We are already thinking about it. We are hearing everything and are planning our next moves.”

It can be expected that the makers will either extend the story with a major focus on SRK's character or will present him efficiently alongside Dev as a friend.
The first part showed several characters like Amitabh, Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia along others wielding different powers. As the movie was more focused on the lead character, the screen presence of other characters for a limited time was not justified. As the sequel's plot will revolve more around Dev, Amrita and Shiva, several other characters with wielding several other powers will be revealed. With the sequel, the makers will certainly reveal more about the Astraverse.
The official statement from the team of Brahmastra claimed that the movie crossed Rs 160 crore mark in just two days of its release, with the latest reports suggesting that the highly anticipated flick's gross worldwide box office collection in its first weekend crossed the Rs 225 crore mark.
With this, the shares of India’s largest theatre chains PVR and Inox surged by nearly 4% each, adding Rs 650 crore to investor wealth and recuperating most of their losses from the Friday slump.
While recently, south movies broke several records in the Indian film industry, now it seems, Brahmastra is on its way to reclaiming the rightful glory of the B-Town.
Here we bring the list of some records made by Brahmastra which was shared by a leading entertainment portal PinkVilla.
Apart from the top 10 records, Brahmastra also becomes the seventh Bollywood movie to cross Rs 100 crore in the opening weekend. Moreover, it also became the B Town movie in all languages with the second biggest opening weekend of all time and Bollywood movie in Hindi with the fourth biggest opening weekend of all time. It also has grabbed the second spot as the second Indian film at the New Zealand box office.
Well, Ranbir, Alia, Ayan and Karan Johar will certainly be basking in the success of Brahmastra and the new records of the Indian cine industry set by the movie show why.
It seems the outrageous boycott calls and controversies surrounding the makers and actors of Brahmastra faded away which helped the film to emerge as a new trendsetter.
Even after two years of his demise, his fans have been crying out for justice. The silence of several Bollywood filmmakers and A-listed actors over SSR's mysterious death is considered one of the reasons that sparked resentment among his fans which ignited the calls of boycotting Bollywood movies.
Recently, boycott calls for movies like Brahmastra, Laal Singh Chaddha, Samrat Prithviraj and several other flicks have adversely impacted the overall business. Even though Ranbir-Alia starrer Brahmastra managed a glorious opening in its first weekend, reports have even surfaced that the movie has suffered a lot in some places. Apart from the negative reviews, several theaters are running vacant.
Regarding the box office collections and Brahmastra doing wonders in major cities, netizens claim it as a bluff by the makers to refrain several others who are yet to book their tickets of Brahmastra.
Meanwhile, SSR's sister Meetu Singh, taking a jibe at Bollywood, the filmmakers and actors, wrote in her social media post, "Sushant's Brahmastra is enough to destroy this Bollywood."
Her post further read, "Bollywood has always wanted to dictate the public, never stopping to show mutual respect n humility."
She also went on to add, "How can we let people like this be the face of our country which is so rich in moral values? Their sorry attempt of winning the public's love with pretentiousness has failed. Quality and moral values r the only thing that'll win admiration n respect."
Fans and well-wishers of SSR have been training guns on Bollywood filmmakers and actors over nepotism since a long time. They even held them responsible for SSR's death with the probabilities of him being a victim of nepotism.
The Dil Bechara actor's body was found hanging at his residence in Mumbai on June 14, 2020. Since then, unrest fans have been demanding justice with stringent action into the death case.
Even Deepika Padukone's cameo came as a surprise for all in which she portrayed the character of Amrita, Shiv's mother, wielding the Jalastra.
While Big B portrayed the character of a leader of Brahmansh, he also possessed Prahbastra. On the other hand, Mouni was the antagonist (Junoon) or the queen of darkness possessing dark powers while SRK as a scientist wielded Banarastra. Similarly, Nagarjuna is an artist and has Nandiastra.
Nandiastra represents the fierce power of bull and the Tollywood King nailed his character with his power-packed action sequences. Movie lovers heaved praises for Nagarjuna's stellar performance and netizens are unstoppable.
One must have encountered fierce battles of bulls or bulls attacking commuters in day-to-day life. However, here we bring a video that has surfaced on social media recently that shows the real Nandi or bull in action and the sequence is quite similar to a scene in the movie.
Omg Nandiastra 😱 #Brahmastra pic.twitter.com/AQc0CTs51R
— Hipster (@Thecheerbeer) September 11, 2022
The video shows a fierce bull running violently towards a stationary vehicle on the road. However to everyone's surprise it attacked the auto-rickshaw lifting the front part of the vehicle high up in the air. Though the bull made its way to the roadside, it once again turned back. This surprising video ended abruptly, but, it has sparked a meme fest all over the internet.
Though this is such an incident that people likely encounter every day, but, the video surfacing on the internet at a time when Brahmastra is roaring at the theatres, is something amusing.
If reports are to be believed, the film has already raked up a whopping Rs 160 crore in just two days. The Rs 415 crore budget movie has entered the Rs 100cr club in just two days. Also starring Nagarjuna, Shah Rukh Khan, and Mouni Roy, Brahmastra has set an all-time record for Hindi films for the highest single days ever at PVR and Cinepolis chains.
Sharing the good news with his fans, filmmaker-host Karan Johar wrote, “The light shines bright… Eternally grateful to the audience for their Big Love..”
Meanwhile, Ayan also shared a post on Instagram expressing his delight.
Sharing about the box office collections, Ayan wrote, “Brahmastra 2-Days Box Office. There is no Brahmastra greater than love in this world. Thank you to all our audiences, for spreading Love and Light in Cinemas this weekend!”
However, many claimed it to be fake and criticised the filmmaker and director for manipulating box office figures. Even actress Kangana Ranaut criticised both the filmmaker and the director. Many even shared visuals of empty theatres.
Criticising the movie, Kangana wrote, “This is what happens when you try to sell a lie, @karanjohar in every show forces people to call @aliaabhatt and Ranbir best actors and @ayanmukerji a genius… slowly he started to believe this lie… what else explains the 600cr budget of this film to a director who never made a good enough film in his life… Fox Studio in India had to sell itself to fund this film…. How many more studios will be closed because of these clowns?”
The Rs 415 crore budget movie may enter the Rs 100 crore club by the end of this week. However, a few critics have opened up on their dislike for movie.
Taking to his Twitter handle, film critic Sumit Kadel wrote, “The movie is a personification of DISASTER. Horrible VFX & direction, not even a single scene evokes goosebumps rather it is bound to give you headache throughout the run time. A blot on filmography.”
Sharing his tweets, Manikarnika actress Kangana Ranaut also came down heavily on filmmaker Karan Johar, director Ayan Mukherji and the lead actors Ranbir and Alia.
She claimed that the movie has reportedly incurred over Rs 800 crore loss to PVR and Inox.
Sharing Sumit Kadel’s tweet, Kangana wrote, “This is what happens when you try to sell a lie, @karanjohar in every show forces people to call @aliaabhatt and Ranbir best actors and @ayanmukerji a genius… slowly he started to believe this lie… what else explains the 600cr budget of this film to a director who never made a good enough film in his life… Fox studio in India had to sell itself to fund this film…. How many more studios will be closed because of these clowns?”
The actress further wrote, “Their groupism is coming to bite them now… Wedding to baby PR, controlled the media, jailed KRK, bought reviews, bought tickets… they can do everything dishonest but can’t make a good honest film..”
Sharing another tweet, she again wrote, “Today we don’t have a single international studio left in the country we can pitch our films to, movie mafia takes over their system and sucks them dry, they cease to exist as soon as they open…how do we make movies when there are no studios left, only traditional financers and individual producers those too far and few…”
The Thalaivi actress wrote “Everyone who called @ayanmukerji a genius should be jailed immediately.. he took 12 years to make this film, he replaced 14 DOP’s he shot for more than 400 days for this film and changed 85 AD’s and burnt 600 crores to ashes… Also tried to exploit religious sentiments by changing the film name from Jalaluddin Rumi to Shiva last minute, because of Bahubali success… Such opportunists, such creativity deprived people, success starved greedy people if called geniuses then it’s not manipulation but a well thought of strategy to call din ko raat and raat ko din…”
Targeting Karan Johar, she wrote, “People like Karan Johar should be questioned for their conduct, he is more interested in everyone’s sex life than in his films scripts, he self admittedly buys reviews, stars and fake collection numbers and tickets… this time around he tried to ride Hinduism and south wave.. all turned Pujaris suddenly and begged south actors, writers and directors to promote their film… they will do everything but not hire competent writer, director, actors and other talent… why not in the first place hire those they went begging to fix this disaster called ‘Brahmastra’.
This seems to be the unanimous view of trade magazines that track box-office collection figures. According to 'Bollywood Hungama', early estimates indicated that the Ayan Mukherji movie has collected in the range of Rs 36.50 crore to Rs 38.50 crore on its opening day.
The Rs 415-crore movie therefore seems set to break into the Rs 100-crore club at the end of its first weekend, but its big test will be Monday.
If it can keep up the momentum, then it promises to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film in a rather difficult year. In fact, according to 'Bollywood Hungama', its first-day earnings have surpassed those of the biggest post-pandemic grosser, the Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif-led 'Sooryavanshi'.
But with no major release being scheduled before the upcoming actioner 'Vikram Vedha' starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan on September 30, 'Brahmastra' has an unobstructed ride ahead. Will it be able to cash in on this fact?
Trade analysts have said that four factors seem to have buoyed the movie's reception: it has brought back young people, who have now become avid followers of Marvel film, to the cinemas after a long time; stellar performances, especially by Alia Bhatt, who seems to have literally become the darling of audiences; the surprise package, namely, Shah Rukh Khan's 20-minute presence in his 'Swades' character, Prof. Mohan Bhargav; and of course, the VFX that brought Ayan Mukherji's Astraverse to life.
More importantly, it has done well in both urban multiplexes and 'mass belts'. "The film has fared exceptionally well in the multiplexes and the mass belts too stood their ground with spot bookings," 'Bollywood Hungama' states. "The three national chains have collected around Rs 18.50 crores from all the versions, whereas the non-national chains have put up another Rs 18.50 crores to take the opening around Rs 37 crore mark."
Interestingly, the non-Hindi versions, too, have brought Rs 5 crore to the film's initial kitty. And the occupancies are averaging between 40 per cent and 50 per cent in cinemas across all territories. If this good run continues, then Karan Johar and Ayan Mukherji may have finally delivered to Bollywood the winner it so badly needed.
Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles with Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo, is all set to hit the theatres on September 9. However, several controversies have surrounded the movie. Be it 'hurting Hindu sentiments' row or Alia Bhatt's statement on boycott calls, Alia and Ranbir have been facing the ire of many.
Tomorrow, the powers of ancient Indian Astras finally arrive in cinemas! 💥

While the boycott calls for Brahmastra has been trending on social media, Ranbir and Alia were restricted from entering Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple. Ranbir quoting Lord Jagannath on a wrong notion, and his remarks on beef also didn't go well with many and sparked resentment among movie lovers.
However, it seems that the controversies, boycott calls and protests have failed to impact the start of Brahmastra. Brahmastra and the team are all set for a glorious opening in the first weekend.
As reported by cine critic Taran Adarsh, PVR Cinemas on Sept 5 released an official statement that it sold over 100000 tickets in advance for the first weekend. The figures for advance ticket status were also on a roll. Later, Inox Leisure also released the status of advance booking on September 7. With an incredible response for the movie, it sold over 125000 and the figures were counting.

Apart from the multiplexes, the movie will be released in single theatres. However, the status of advance ticket booking couldn't be obtained.
Well, the advance ticket booking status certainly clarifies that the controversies, boycott calls and several other disputes failed to impact the movie and the mounting craze for it.
On the other hand, netizens on a mission against Brahmastra have claimed that certain cine critics have been 'bribed' by Karan Johar to spread the 'good words' backing the movie.
Umair Sandhu, a member of the overseas censor board, recently posted a review for Brahmastra. He rated the movie 2.5 stars. Quoting the movie as "All that Glitters is not gold", Sandhu lauded Ayan for his courageous move of stepping into a rare genre. However, he rated the screenplay and story as average and sometimes a mess.
Moreover, he said, Ranbir looks so confused while showering praises for Alia's look. Calling Mouni creepy and loud, he expressed his regret over Big B's less on-screen appearance.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sandhu earlier claimed for some movies to be 'full paisa vasool', but those turned out to be disasters.
Now, all eyes are on the 'honest' reviews of the fans, which will be out tonight as Ranbir, Alia and Ayan earlier announced about the special screening of Brahmastra on September 8.
Though the makers are already set for a glorious opening this weekend, the fate of the movie will be decided by the audience after that.
While several actors have left their marks in people's minds with their influencing character portrayal, only a few lead actors are remembered even after years. Above all those actors, Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan stands tall in all ways.
The living legend is looked upon by many existing, established and struggling actors as an inspiration and as a Guru by many.
Probably, there is no character left that has not been brought by Big B onto the silver screen. Even today's actors very proudly follow the footprints of the legend for which a hint of Bachchan can be seen in almost every actor including the general public. Recently, south actor Jr NTR also showered praises for Big B and said, "He really created a mark on me as an actor."
The influence of a good teacher cannot be erased and Big B has proven it time and again throughout his career, that spans over five decades. He has left a trail of iconic performances throughout his acting career, even as a teacher. Right from Chupke Chupke to his upcoming Brahmastra.
Turning the pages of history, here we bring a breakdown of such iconic performances in which Big B came onscreen as a teacher.
Chupke Chupke- Big B portrayed the character of Sukumar Sinha in 1975's Chupke Chupke as a professor of English literature. However, later he temporarily acted as Professor Parimal Tripathi, a Botany professor. Sukumar posing as Parimal taught Botany to Vasudha (Jaya Bachchan). However, during his session, he unintentionally brought a blend of literature into Botany. The sequences certainly tickled the funny bones of many.
Desh Premee- 1982's Desh Premee, though was a moderate, Big B was seen in a dual role. While he played the young character of Raju, he also played the role of Master Dinanath. As Master Dinanath, apart from being a freedom fighter, he also used to teach children. More of his freedom fighter nature was visible in his character in the movie.
Mohabbatein- 2000's romantic drama flick Mohabbatein is remembered as a thumping comeback movie for Amitabh Bachchan. Though the movie was based on the love life of 6 youngsters, along with Shah Rukh Khan, Big B played a major role that paved his way towards winning back the hearts of movie lovers. As the dean of Gurukul, Narayan Shankar came up with a rude but influencing character with deep morals.
Black- Next it was 'Black' in which Big B was seen as an elderly alcoholic teacher, Debraj. While Rani Mukerji took away all the praises for her stellar performance in the movie as a deaf and blind person, with fewer skills in speaking. Debraj came across several hurdles, but he took it upon himself to build Michelle (Rani) into a person who can express and communicate. Performances of both the actors were beyond anything which earned them accolades including the National Film Awards. Of course, the movie carved out a beautiful bond between a teacher and his student.
Darna Zaroori Hai- Darna Zaroori Hai is another movie that was released in 2006 in which Amitabh portrayed the character of a professor. Though not so influential as a teacher, his on-screen performance in the horror thriller anthology film was certainly appreciable.
Aarakshan- Though Aarakshan's plot was based on caste-based reservations, Amitabh played an influential role as a teacher and mentor of Saif Ali Khan (Deepak) in the 2008's movie.
Syeraa Narasimha Reddy- Big B stepped into the character of a Guru of Chiranjeevi in Syeraa Narasimha Reddy. Though it was a cameo, he came up on the screen as the teacher of Chiranjeevi in combat and philosophy.
Jhund- The recent movie Jhund showcased Amitabh as a football coach. In the movie, he makes a football team of children from a slum. The film received extremely positive reviews from critics praising the performances of the ensemble cast and the social message it carried. As a sports teacher, Big B nailed his character as always and kept the slum children off drugs and crime. He turned them into football players and build a team.
Brahmastra- Now, his upcoming movie Brahmastra will be releasing in a few days. The movie which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Nagarjuna with Mouni Roy and SRK, is a fantasy adventure movie scheduled to release on Sept 9. As the trailer, teaser and songs show, Big B is playing a major role in the movie as the Guru of Ranbir aka Shiv. Also, apart from being the leader of Brahmānsh, he wields Prabhāstra. Indeed, it will be a treat for fans of the legend to watch him in action once again.
Even his character in Do Aur Do Paanch can't be ignored. Though he played the character of a burglar, he had to fake his identity and turned into a PE teacher in the 1978 movie. After stepping in as a teacher, the comic scenes tickled the funny bones of many. His enmity with Shashi Kapoor and taking the baddies into tasks after a change of heart was quite entertaining.
The best teacher ever ... in the best film on teachers 😀 #TeachersDay @SrBachchan pic.twitter.com/9mRPXUbCRp
— Moses Sapir (@MosesSapir) September 4, 2022
To date, Amitabh has portrayed several characters in which, though not a teacher, he taught several life lessons, to the onscreen baddies with his punches, kicks and dialogues. Even the audience has enjoyed a lot throughout these years. While Big B will soon turn 80 years old, fans and movie lovers still have high hopes from the legendary actor.
While Hindi movie lovers are eagerly waiting for the release, boycott calls for Brahmāstra have been trending on social media since a few days. Considering the previous scenarios, many are fearing that like the disastrous outcomes of Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and Ranbir's Shamshera, Brahmāstra might taste the bitter consequences of the boycott calls. However, it seems that the boycott calls may not affect this time and as speculated, Brahmāstra will taste success and bring back Bollywood's lost glory.
Such predictions backing Brahmāstra's success are not just assumptions as the advance ticket booking status depicts so.
It seems Hindi movie lovers have vouched to extend full support and restore the lost glory of Hindi cinema this time following multiple failures.

Cine critic Taran Adarsh on Saturday tweeted about the positive response for Brahmāstra among the audience.
"'BRAHMĀSTRA': ADVANCE BOOKING STATUS... Finally, some relief for the industry... Received #Brahmāstra day-wise data [advance booking] of a leading multiplex chain... Observations... Tickets sold: 11,558 [veryyy positive start, since advance opened at select locations only]," his Tweet read.
In another Tweet he wrote, " Fri contribution is 63% of the total ticket sales, followed by Sat [25%] and Sun [12%] Needs to maintain the pace till Thu night for a strong advance status Mass circuits and spot bookings [when film releases] will play an extremely vital role in Day 1 [Fri] numbers."

However, he went on to mention that Saturday and Sunday business will depend upon audience reviews.
Brahmāstra is touted as one of the high-budget Hindi movies that will create history. The budget for Brahmāstra is over Rs 400 crore. The official budget of the movie, excluding the print and publicity expenses is Rs. 410 crores and is touted to be the costliest Bollywood film to date and the expenditure will be visible on each and every frame.
Apart from the budget factor, there are several factors that are backing such expectations.
First of all, Brahmāstra is bringing a story plot like never before. As south ace director SS Rajamouli said, the Aayan Mukerji-helmed project will create history. Moreover, movie lovers have already got a glance of VFX, action sequences and picturesque locations which elevates their expectations.

Apart from that, the mega star cast in the movie also is another factor. The real-life couple- Ranbir and Alia will be seen on the silver screen for the first time. Apart from the couple pairing, and Mouni Roy in a pivotal role, the inclusion of other mega-celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Shah Rukh Khan has spiked the anticipation. Even rumours are abuzz that another real-life couple- Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone may be a part of the second installment.
Above all, Brahmāstra is touted as the first Indian movie which has brought several other major celebrities from across India. While Chiranjeevi has dubbed the narrative part of the Telugu version, Rajamouli and Jr NTR have been a part of the promotions with the Brahmastra team. Several other celebrities from other industries are also a part of Brahmāstra in some or the other way. Such a strategy might turn out to be favourable for Brahmāstra team.
With only 5 days left for its worldwide theatrical release, The entire team of Disney and Dharma are confident that the movie will create magic at the box office after winning the hearts of the movie lovers. Reports suggest that if the first part succeeds, the team will proceed with their idea of completing a Brahmāstra trilogy. Well, the results will be out this week after the theatrical release. All need to wait for the same.
Participating in a pre-release press conference here, the ace director, who is presenting the film, said that 'Brahmastra' is not only one of the most awaited films, but is also one of the costliest productions of the year.
"Ayan dreamt about creating a world that we have never seen before -- the magnificent world of astras that we have learnt from our history, our Puranas," Rajamouli said.
"As children, we heard about these astras but have never seen their splendour," the ace director said.
"That is what Ayan has dreamt. It has been a long journey from 2014. He has been ably supported by Karan Johar, Ranbir, Alia, Nagarjuna and Amit sir. Thank you all for making me a part of this fantastic journey," he added.
Explaining why he liked 'Brahmastra' so much, Rajamouli said, "Creating a world that Ayan has created is not easy. Ayan has created a power which still has some limits. He provided the scope to create a bigger villain and also created a scope for the struggle for good to win over evil. It is not like a fairy tale. It is like a commercial way of telling the story of astras. This is what I like about 'Brahmastra'."
Continuing to explain why he loved the film, the director added, "Ayan made sure that among all the astras, including 'Vanara Astra', 'Agni Astra', 'Jalastra' and 'Brahmastra' -- love is the strongest. Not just telling this fact in dialogues, he made sure that his point comes across. That love will win over everything."
Telugu superstar Nagarjuna and Ranbir Kapoor were among those who were part of the question-and-answer session that followed the speeches.
Earlier, rumours were abuzz about Shah Rukh Khan's cameo in the movie, however, the makers remained mum about it and didn't drop any hints. This silence escalated the excitement and anticipation among the fans of SRK.
As the theatrical release date of Brahmastra is inching closer, SRK's character in the movie has finally been revealed.
Earlier, everyone was well aware that SRK will most likely portray the character of a scientist. However, it still remained a secret if Khan will only help Shiv (Ranbir) in his quest of finding Brahmastra and awakening the supernatural weapon as a scientist or he possess any supernatural power like Ranbir, Amitabh and Nagarjuna.
As per the story plot, the mystical universe of various Āstras named as Astraverse has several power-protectors. The power-protectors have different energies that are found in nature and the powers of different animals.
The trailer showed a person in SRK's signature pose while holding a trident (Trishul), which hyped the inclusion of SRK in the fantasy adventure flick possessing supernatural power. However, now it has been confirmed that the Pathan actor will be 'Vanar Astra'.
Now, as it is revealed that 'King of Romance' will be showcasing some action as 'Vanar Astra', excitement among fans will certainly elevate high. Certainly, it will be a treat to watch the Millennium Star and Bollywood Badshah along with Ranbir-Alia and Tollywood King Nagarjuna all together locking horns with Mouni.
Ayan Mukerji's dream project Brahmāstra is the first-of-its-kind movie in Bollywood and also comes with a cinematic universe of its own. This movie is touted as a new horizon of Bollywood which could help it win back the 'lost' trust in Hindi movies. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on September 9 and will release in multiple languages.
The actress, who recently launched her new song 'Deva Deva' from her next film 'Brahmastra' along with the team, took to her Instagram to share a few pictures of herself in a brown-coloured outfit.
The 'Dear Zindagi' actress wrote in the caption: "All set to see 'Deva Deva' with the press & my little darling #DevaDeva!"
A radiant glow on Alia's face and her baby bump can be seen in the series of pictures shared by the actress.
On the work front, 'Darlings', which is Alia's maiden production, has been getting good response ever since its release on August 5 on Netflix. Her upcoming film 'Brahmastra', in which she stars opposite her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, is due for release next month.
The mythological-fantasy drama has been in the works for eight years is the film on the sets of which Alia and Ranbir fell in love. The two eventually married earlier this year on April 14.
The power couple tied the knot in a private ceremony attended by a few special guests. Soon the pictures of the duo's marriage went viral on social media platforms elating the fans. A couple of months later, they announced their pregnancy streaming joy among their families, friends, fans and well-wishers.
Now that Ranbir and Alia are quite busy with their projects, fans are eagerly waiting for their upcoming movie, 'Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva', which will mark the first-time onscreen pairing of the duo.
Excited fans kept a tab on the duo when they were lovers and are also remaining updated on their life after marriage. But, many are unaware of the last moment of the duo as boyfriend and girlfriend.
Here, we bring you what the lovebirds did to mark their last moment as BF and GF:
To make their last moment as BF and GF special before kick-starting a new beginning, the duo had planned for an exciting moment to cherish lifelong.
As reported, on their wedding day, Alia and Ranbir had a quiet lunch together and then shook their hands as boyfriend and girlfriend one last time before heading for pheras.
Doesn't this sound romantic?
Well, such a plan will probably inspire all loving couples out there who look up to Alia and Ranbir as their love icons.
Throughout his career spanning over 5 decades, Big B has embarked on several milestones in the Indian film industry with his stellar performances. The 'Jhund' actor has proven his versatility in different roles and even at this age, he gives tough challenges to the new-generation actors.
Till date, he has worked in over 199 movies in Hindi and several other languages. After Jhund, all eyes are set on his upcoming 'Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva' in which he will be seen mentoring Ranbir Kapoor who is portraying the lead character Shiva.
In his career of over 5 decades, the stellar actor has worked with several directors. It was Prakash Mehra with whom he got his first blockbuster in 1973 and now it must be an honour for Ayan Mukerji like new-age directors to work with the actor, who is an institute in himself.
However, here we bring a lesser-known incident that will take you back to the old golden days when Amitabh-starrer movies dominated the box office as movie lovers thronged the theatres in large. This incident certainly would reveal how tough it was for the directors to convince the 'Angry Young Man' when he was at the pinnacle of success.
Actor-writer-director Tinnu Anand had written and directed 1981's Kaalia, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Parveen Babi, Asha Parekh, Kader Khan, Pran, Amjad Khan and Jagdeep. Sharing his experience with Big B and convincing him for the script, Tinnu shared about the situation.
Kaalia, Shahenshah, Main Azaad Hoon, Major Saab... 76th Birthday wishes to Director/Writer/Actor TinnuAnand.
— Subhash Shirdhonkar (@4331Subhash) October 12, 2021
Here Tinnu Anand with Amitabh Bachchan during movie shoot pic.twitter.com/TZKQbf2fFN
As described, Tinnu was chasing the 'Angry Young Man' for a year to narrate his script, from studio to studio, and every time he (Amit) would say, "Not today, tomorrow," due to the fact he had a really busy schedule.
Finally, Tinnu got hold of the Megastar on the sets of Don and finally narrated his script. When Tinnu finished, Big B was silent.
Tinnu said, "You don't have to tell me that you like my script because I know you like it very much."
To this, the Shahenshah actor asked, "How do you know that?"
Tinnu replied, "Before I came, a few people told me that if Amitabh Bachchan is hearing a script and he looks towards the sky and he starts stroking his hair, it means your script is rejected. I am glad you did neither while I was narrating the script."
Following that, Big B liked Tinnu's confidence and signed the project.
Fans of Big B are well aware that Big B made his debut with 'Saath Hindustani'. But, many are still unaware that it was Tinnu who was the reason behind Big B getting a break in B Town.
Tinnu was focused on direction and didn't want to pass the opportunity to assist the legend, Satyajit Ray. During an interview with ETimes, Tinnu spilt the beans about the incident.
Speaking about Amitabh Bachchan, The Towering Inferno quoted Tinnu as saying, "I've known Amitabh Bachchan since 1968. He has been a friend from the beginning of our careers. As a director, I went on to make four films with him- Kaalia, Shahenshah, Main Azaad Hoon and Majorsaab."

Describing Big B's dedication to his profession, Tinnu added, "I have worked with so many actors, not only as director but as an actor, too. But no one has taken his job quite so seriously as Amit has, even today. That's exactly what makes him different."
"When he walked into the industry, everyone told him that he was too tall for his heroines, too thin, too unconventional. And when he did make a mark in films, he had a very unconventional hairstyle that the whole country copied. He made the unconventional acceptable. He has lasted so long because of the ability to not stop working," he added.

He also opened up about rumours that he might be having twins with his wife Alia Bhatt.
Ranbir was interacting with the media along with the cast of 'Shamshera', including Vani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and director Karan Malhotra.
The song 'Kesariya' created a lot of controversy due to its lyrics and use of English words like 'love storiyan'.
'Kesariya' is sung by Arijit Singh, composed by Pritam, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Many netizens compared the sudden use of English words in the song to biting into an 'elaichi' while having a tasty 'biryani'.
"I just love the track. We as filmmakers and artistes create something and it is up to the audience to receive it the way do. And in today's time, all this trolling and memes are part of life and as long as people enjoy Pritam's music and Arijit Singh's singing, all is fine," he said.
On rumours of having twins, he replied: "Don't create a controversy. They asked me to state three things: two truths and a lie. Now I can't reveal what is the truth, and what is the lie."
During a recent interview with Film Companion, Ranbir had shared two truths and a lie: "I am having twins, I am going to be part of a very big mythological film, I am taking a long break from work."
Alia and Ranbir tied the knot earlier this year. Recently, they announced that they are expecting their first child.
Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films and directed by Karan Malhotra, 'Shamshera' features Ranbir in a double role with Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist alongside Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Saurabh Shukla and Ashutosh Rana. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on July 22.
Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the first installment of Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. However, it is being speculated that several other popular actors will have cameo appearances in the movie including Shah Rukh Khan. It is speculated that SRK will be portraying the character of a scientist who will help Shiva in his quest.
The trailer showed a person in SRK's signature pose while holding a trident (Trishul). This has hyped the inclusion of SRK in the movie. However, there might not be any truth behind such claims.
Meanwhile, rumours are abuzz that Deepika Padukone will also have a cameo appearance in the first part which will develop into a major one in the second installment. As per the buzz, Deepika will essay the role of Goddess Parvati. On the other hand, when asked about SRK and Deepika's cameo, helmer Ayan neither denied nor confirmed the reports.
During an interview with Mirchi Plus, Ayan informed that he is unaware of any such developments. However, he termed the rumours as a ‘good suggestion’.
Ayan said, “I know nothing about this, Part 2 maybe. It is a good suggestion for Part 2 maybe you’ll get to see them then.”
Moreover, he didn’t mention any reports of SRK's cameo appearance in the flick.
However, Ayan quashed the inclusion of Goddess Parvati's character. He said, “One thing I want to tell you is that Brahmastra is not really about Lord Shiva. Ranbir Kapoor’s character is just called Shiva in it. My greatest hero is Shiv Bhagwan. There is a lot of inspiration that I’ve put in my own way into this film and into this character. So, there is no role of Parvati in Part One or Part Two or Part Three. To some extent, as it says in the dialogue of the movie, Isha is really Shiva’s Parvati (character Shiva’s Parvati) in this trilogy,” he added.
This statement from the helmer certainly has cleared the air that Deepika won't be seen as Goddess Parvati and they won't include the divine character in the movie. However, it can be expected that Deepika may be seen in a cameo role, either in part one or part two.
The movie scheduled for theatrical release on September 9, is a fantasy adventure flick that shows the quest of Shiva (Ranbir) to reach Brahmastra, a supernatural weapon. While Shiva poses supernatural power of fire element or rather called Agni Astra in the mystical universe of various Āstras (weapons), there are several others possessing supernatural powers.

KESARIYA SONG TMRW pic.twitter.com/VkidMQn51a
Kesariya is a soulful song and for the audience, it was a divine moment watching Arijit sing it live even before its official release. Ranbir Kapoor and Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji also triggered interest in Kesariya as a video of the actor-director duo intently listening to the song and chilling out together surfaced online. Social media users have hailed the song as a love anthem with a good rhythm, melody, and flawless composition.
Brahmastra is the first movie of Ranbir and Alia together and hence it is going to be a major draw for the audience apart from the fact that some big stars are going to play pivotal roles in the movie. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Shah Rukh Khan, and Mouni Roy will be seen in some interesting roles in Brahmastra.
The chemistry between Ranbir and Alia in Kesariya looks quite sizzling. The teaser of Kesariya released earlier received a very good response which motivated Ayan Mukerji to make certain changes in the marketing plans of Brahmastra. The teaser was released in April around the same time when Alia and Ranbir tied the knot.
Revealing the change in plans, Ayan said that earlier the team wanted to release the first song centered around the character of Ranbir as Shiva in Brahmastra. However, after teaser of Kesariya received an overwhelming response they decided to release it first. Brahmastra will hit the theatres in September this year.
Penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Kesariya is composed by ace music director Pritam and sung by Arijit Singh. It is pertinent to mention here that Alia and Ranbir are sharing screen space for the first time in Brahmastra that makes the movie much more special for their fans.
Sharing about the release of the song, Alia posted an Instagram post with the caption, "Our sound of love, is now yours (heart emoticon) Kesariya out now!"
The soulful number depicts that true love is pure, divine, and soulful and a classic melody in the voice of Arijit.
In the video, Ranbir and Alia 's crackling chemistry is unmissable. However, the cherry on the top is the magical backdrop of the Holy Varanasi with its ghats, bylanes, and temples which adds another charm to their romance.
Meanwhile, the song is getting loved by fans and music lovers. By now, the song has garnered over 4.5 million views on YouTube (till the filing of this report).
Notably, fans were eagerly waiting for the release of the full song ever since the Brahmastra team shared the teaser of the song ahead of Alia and Ranbir's wedding.
Fans have flooded the internet on various platforms with praises. They can't stop admiring the song and Alia and Ranbir's magical chemistry which is blended with Arijit's magical voice.
Several netizens dropped heart and fire emojis in the comment section while others commented on how good their onscreen chemistry is.
" Love it and love you guys," commented a user. Another user wrote, " Every version from Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, kannada to Malyalam is soo refreshing and soothing to ears. It's too good 🧡🧡"
" SONG OF THE YEAR! THAT'S IT! JUST A BEAUTIFUL CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE ❤," read another comment.

First, it was for Sanju and now it is for Shamshera, the actor has come up with astounding physical transformation. The amazing transformation from his typical chocolate-boy look to attaining a muscular physique with perfect cuts is certainly incredible.
Certainly, it was not easy for Ranbir to put on muscle. However, he faced the challenges and set the goals to achieve an athletic, strong, raw and rustic.
If you are an admirer of RK and wish to follow the path to achieve a breathtaking physique like him then here we bring the fitness secrets of the Shamshera actor.
RK's trainer Shivoham had revealed the diet routine of the actor.
As said by Shivoham, Ranbir is not fond of eating roti and has not eaten rotis in the past 1.5 years. He prefers eating brown rice, toast or biryani.
Ranbir takes protein shakes twice a day; once in the morning and the other in the day in between meals. He follows a low-carb diet with around 100 gram of carbs per day.
He adds eggs, protein shakes and brown bread to his breakfast. His lunch plate includes brown rice, chicken, dal and green vegetables. The 'Sanju' actor prefers light dinner. However, for Shamshera, RK had five meals during the day and had a cheat meal only once a week. The protein-rich foods helped him to maintain muscle mass and promote muscle growth while he underwent strength training.
To meet the body's nutritional requirements, Ranbir takes supplements on a regular basis which includes protein, glutamine and multivitamin.
The Brahmastra star also stays away from sweets as he dislikes sweet items. Moreover, he also dislikes fried food items.
However, burgers are his favourite and he includes those definitely in his cheat meal.
To achieve his six-pack abs and chiselled physique with perfect cuts he underwent rigorous training 5 days a week. Each of his workout sessions was intense and lasted for an hour. He ended the session with a quick, high-intensity treadmill cardio session.
Ranbir also did breathing exercises every day that helped him to relax even while shooting in heat and dust.
Ranbir is currently quite excited about his upcoming movies Shamshera and Brahmastra. Even the announcement of Alia's pregnancy has doubled the excitement for the entire Kapoor family.
As the day of Shamshera's theatrical release is inching closer, Ranbir has increased his promotions to keep his fans, admirers and movie buffs engaged.
Recently, a video was released in which he is seen roasting himself for disappointing Kapoor Khandan. In the video, Ranbir is seen interviewing himself. Being Ranbir, he introduces himself saying, "It's Shamshera and Ranbir, thank you for inviting me."
On the other hand, as an interviewer, Ranbir said, "Yeah, whatever... By the way, great legacy. Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Who does it feel... to disappoint all of them."
This video is a must-watch! It will definitely tickle the funny bones of all movie buffs.
Ranbir made his debut in B Town in 2007 with Saawariya and has so far worked in 18 movies with two waiting for release this year and three more in the pipeline. While his debut movie failed at the box office, the list of flop movies includes 5 more films.
On the other hand, he has 8 movies with average results. Ranbir has one movie each in the hit, super-hit and blockbuster categories.
The box office results certainly are not satisfactory for many from Ranbir with a rich legacy of Kapoor khandan.
Hopefully, just like Sanju, Shamshera, Brahmastra and more of his upcoming movies will be under the blockbuster category.
The big fat wedding of Ranbir and Alia was one of the most anticipated weddings. The celebrity duo tied the knots on April 14 this year. Though the ceremony was a private affair, fans celebrated their marriage. The recent announcement of Alia's pregnancy also filled excitement among admirers. However, some trolled the duo calling the pregnancy news a 'promotional gig' for Brahmastra and Shamshera.
On the other hand, Reacting to the troll, Ranbir Kapoor said, "Alia and I, as a married couple, we thought that it would just seem right to tell the world because we felt it was the right time. We just wanted to share the joy and the news with the world and there was no other thought to it."
Recently, the Sanju actor took parenting tip from Rupali Ganguly aka Anupama from the popular TV serial Anupamaa. The incident happened while Ranbir graced the set of Star Plus’ weekend show Ravivaar with Star Parivaar.
“Duniya ka sabse best pitah banna hai toh aap mujhe help karenge ki main kya kar sakta hun? (Can you help me with tips to become the world’s best father?)”
To this, Rupali replied, "Your child is like your heart," and then she showed Ranbir how to hold a newborn baby. She also gave him tips on changing the baby’s diaper.
Another video of Ranbir Kapoor from the set of the show showed him carrying a baby.
This RK lad made his debut in 2007 with the romantic film Saawariya alongside Sonam Kapoor. Despite being helmed by ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the movie bombed at the box office.
Recently, Ranbir revealed about being a movie buff just like any other Indian youth and is still in awe of Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan.
Currently, Ranbir is one of the most sought-after actors in the Hindi cine industry with back-to-back movies in the list. Fans are quite aware that the Kapoor lad didn't make his debut in the industry as an actor. It is well known that RK had earlier worked as an Assistant Director.
His mother and actress Neetu Singh Kapoor had earlier shared a memorable incident when Ranbir had just started earning and once took her on lunch with his saved money. Back then, probably Ranbir was working as an assistant director in the blockbuster movie Black starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji.
But, did you know Ranbir stepped into the B-Town as a clap boy and his first monthly earning was Rs 250 only?
Yes, you heard it right! Ranbir worked as a clap boy in 1996's Prem Granth which also starred Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit apart from several other noted actors.
Recently, a photo surfaced on social media in which Ranbir is seen holding the clapboard and his father Rishi was standing behind the board probably waiting for the director's order.
The Kapoors are one of the most respected families in Bollywood. Following Prithviraj Kapoor's reigns, Raj Kapoor, fondly called the 'show man' of the B-Town, carried on the legacy of entertaining the audience. He along with his brothers ruled the Indian cinema for several years.
Further, his sons, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir and Rajiv were the heirs of the showman. Leaving apart Rajiv, his other two lads got established in the industry and the rest is history. Next, it was Karishma, Kareena and Ranbir, who are currently active in the industry.
While many aspiring, as well as existing actors, look upon Big B as an inspiration, young heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is no different.
Ranbir as well as his admirers are quite excited about his back-to-back upcoming movies, i.e. Brahmāstra and Shamshera. The Kapoor lad is quite a busy bee with several more movies in the pipeline. However, as the release date of Shamshera is inching closer, Ranbir is leaving no stone unturned for its promotion.
Apart from his fans, Ranbir's excitement is mounting high as for the first time he will be locking horns with his idol Sanjay Dutt and will be seen in a never-seen avatar.
Ranbir has shared three videos tagged as RK Tapes. In the videos, RK narrated about his inspiration.
In one video, he delivered an inspiring speech that started with the famous punch line, "Tum Log Mujhe Wahan Dhund Rahe Ho...".
Ranbir is seen sitting in a theatre and he continued, "I wanted to become Amitabh Bachchan and when I grew up, I wished to become Shah Rukh Khan. But, finally, I had to become Ranbir Kapoor. Growing up, Hindi film heroes had become the heroes of my life. Everything I did, how I dressed, how I spoke, everything, I subconsciously am inspired from my heroes. But strangely enough, when I became an actor, I wasn't choosing the kind of films my heroes would choose. So, I may have satisfied the actor in me but, the 12-year-old Hindi film-obsessed Ranbir, his dreams were yet to be fulfilled."
For that reason, I never got applauses or whistles. I remember my father used to tell me, the films I do are good films, but they are not going to make me a national star. Thankfully, my film worked, audience appreciated it. But, now I understand what he was trying to say. Even today, when I look at my heroes, I always look at them from a low angle. I never see them as equal to me. They are always larger than life, both on and off screen. If I can be even 2% of the heroes they are, my life will be set.
In the first episode of RK Tapes, he talked about commercial cinema and its impact on everyone's life which distinguishes the industry globally. After talking about his love for Hindi cinema, he spoke about his passion, which he inherited from his family.
In the latest, RK talked about his dream of becoming a villain. While he remembered the iconic villains of the Hindi cine industry, he showered praises for Sanjay Dutt, with whom he will be locking horns in Shamshera.
Well, the recent trailer and the posters certainly promise an entire package of entertainment which will make the audience glued to their seats. However, nothing can be said until it releases in the theatres. So, the verdict will be out after the response of the audience.
And now the first look of Ranbir from Shamshera has been released and even now fans are not really happy with it. Many have compared Ranbir’s Shamshera avatar with that of Ranveer Singh as Khilji from Padmaavat. Undoubtedly, Ranveer rocked the role of Khilji in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie with his menacing look and stance and got more appreciation than Shahid Kapoor’s Maharawal Ratan Singh from Padmaavat.
Even the song picturized on Ranveer as Khilji became extremely popular. And that is why when the picture of Ranbir as Shamshera leaked online, the social media users came out with their opinions saying that it was a copy of Ranveer’s Khilji look and that Ranbir may not be able to pull off the character as skillfully as the Bajirao Mastani actor.
Both Ranveer and Ranbir are at a turning point in their career. Rather most of the big stars are facing few challenges as the taste of the audience post-Corona pandemic has changed a lot. Ranveer’s last two releases 83 and Jayesbhai Jordaar flopped badly. On the other hand, Ranbir had his last release Sanju in 2018 and now has back-to-back big-budget movies releasing in 2022.
While Sanju was a big hit, it was directed by Rajkumar Hirani who has never seen a flop. If either Brahmastra or Shamshera or even both the movies become blockbusters it will definitely consolidate his position in Bollywood as a superstar because Ranbir has very few big hits to his credit.
The VFX is awesome but most of the social media users felt that the movie is a cross-over between Harry Potter and Marvel series. Nonetheless, Mouni Roy who is the original Naagin of Indian television adds desi tadka to the story reprising a Naagin-like character in Brahmastra.

Even then the content looked creative enough to inspire meme fest from the netizens who came up with weird and in many instances logical comparisons of other characters/movies with that of Brahmastra. However, what dominated was the comparison between Brahmastra and Naagin. But there were a few who also said that the movie is a mix of all the big franchises and serials including Shaktimaan, Captain Planet, Power Rangers, Jaani Dushman, Aabra Ka Daabra, and more. Many even called it Sasta Thor and ridiculed it for making a cheap copy of iconic cinematic characters.

Importantly, the trailer was dropped just a day after the 2nd death anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput which also irked many Sush fans who trolled the Brahmastra actors and the production house badly. Even then, it is a first-of-its-kind movie for India and is expected to be made in three parts. And there is no doubt that the VFX is spectacular and quite impressive.

This Ayan Mukerji-helmed flick has been making the headlines right from the time it was announced four years ago. Apart from Ranbir and Alia, many other big stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Southern veteran Nagarjuna and Bollywood queen Deepika Padukone will be doing important roles in this movie.
.#Brahmastra is a film that should be watched on as big screen as possible in 3D. The visuals are superb. BGM is excellent. Plus a story like one that we’ve been loving since our childhoods. Most of the users have called the trailer worth the wait and that it is a big spectacle. The VFX is flamboyant and for the first time can be said to be at par with the international movies. Coming to the story, is rooted in the ancient Vedic theory that the weapons or astras treasure the power of nature like fire, air, and more and can be used to control the world.
Ranbir and Alia’s chemistry is as expected quite sizzling, but it’s the miraculous power of Ranbir’s character of being the one who is never affected by fire and how it takes him on a journey to being the owner of Brahmastra is that will unfold in the trilogy of this franchise.
#BrahmastraTrailer exceeds expectations 🔥 The VFX, BGM, and the entire world of Brahmastra looks electrifying. If direction and screenplay goes well, this film will be historical in terms of both Box-Office numbers and Cinematic Achievement.#RanbirKapoor 👏 #AliaBhatt ❤️ pic.twitter.com/6CZyFJm0I5

Netizens have liked the way the lead actors have been portraying the various characters and the storytelling seems very original, exactly the thing that has been lacking in the recent Bollywood movies. So most probably Brahmastra will give that much-needed big hit to Bollywood A-listers that they have been looking for.
Ending all speculations, the makers of the much-awaited magnum opus 'Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva' have finally revealed about the inclusion of the Megastar in the movie.
The official trailer of the first part will be released on June 15.
While an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni have important roles in the movie, inclusion of the Telugu megastar will certainly level up the anticipation.
The Bramhastra has brought on board a galaxy of India's top-rated stars - all a legend on their own. And, after Chiranjeevi has agreed to lend his voice to Ayan Mukerji's upcoming epic movie 'Brahmstra Part 1: Shiva' movie as well as for the trailer in Telugu, his fans and movie lovers have started celebrations.
As shared by the movie's helmer Ayan Mukerji, the 'Acharya' actor has wrapped up the dubbing part for the 'Brahmasta Part 1: Shiva' trailer in Telugu.
Ayan shared a video on Instagram and captioned it: "I have met Chiranjeevi Garu on just two occasions - once with Ranbir when we asked him to lend his voice for Brahmāstra in Telugu, and once when we recorded his iconic voice a few days ago - but the feeling he has left me with, will last forever."
Further, the post read: "A Mega Star with Magic Energy - He made me feel so warm and so welcome, and was so positive about Brahmāstra - I cherish deeply having had the privilege to have met him on this journey ! With utmost respect (and excitement)... I feel honoured to share that Chiranjeevi Garu is lending his Voice to our movie, and our Trailer in Telugu. To be in the Dub Studio with him, and to listen to his voice on our Trailer - will be one of my favourite memories on Brahmāstra!"
The magnum opus is produced by Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures. The movie's theatrical release date is locked for September 9. The movie will simultaneously release in five languages, i.e. Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Notably, Baahubali and RRR fame SS Rajamouli presents the film in all four South Indian languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Brahmastra helmed by Ayan Mukerji is produced under the banners of Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures. The fantasy adventure flick is the first part of a planned trilogy. First announced in 2014, the movie got delayed for several reasons. While the scheduled date (September 9) for theatrical release is inching closer, fans are quite excited and waiting eagerly for June 15 for the official trailer.
Only a week back the makers had treated the fans with the teaser that showed the glance of various actors in the movie. The video of 32-second duration must have given goose bumps to many. While fans had already got the glance of Ranbir & Alia, the makers dropped another video that showed the chemistry between Shiv and Isha.
Only three days ago, the music poster of Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan was shared on social media. Later, King of Tollywood Nagarjuna's music poster was released. While Big B will be seen as Shiv's Guru, Nagarjuna will portray the character of Anish an artist.
While excitement is mounting among fans, the new buzz in the industry is the inclusion of another iconic actor in the movie.
As per the latest buzz, Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi will come on board of Brahmastra and the announcement will be made soon.
If the buzz is anything to go by, the movie will bring on several biggies together for the first time. Though Big B has already shared screen space with Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna multiple times, this movie will bring on the trio for the first time.
Meanwhile, fans are quite anxious about Chiranjeevi's character in the movie, whether it will be a special/cameo appearance like Shah Rukh Khan or it will be a major role like Nagarjuna. Well, if the reports emerge as reality, the movie will certainly set new benchmarks in the history of Indian cinema. Isn't it!
Lately, several South actors have emerged to become global icons. With Baahubali series, KGF series, RRR and Pushpa, the south filmmakers have already successfully enthralled the audience pan India. Now, it's time for Bollywood to leave the trails in the South regions so that movie lovers will reminisce about the entertainment and milestones.
But she is keeping a keen eye on the way the promotions are being conducted. So when a video clip of Ranbir in a white kurta pajama looking elegant and chic surfaced online, Aaloo could not hold herself from responding and shared a fire emoji which attracted the attention of the netizens.
Ranbir Kapoor received an overwhelming welcome in Vizag as he reached the airport. He along with Ayan was welcomed with showers of flower petals in typical Indian style. His car was also decorated with a huge, big garland as he moved across the city in the open car. RRR director SS Rajamouli has also accompanied Ranbir and Ayan for the promotions and was seen visiting different places in the city along with the Sanju actor.

Despite being away from the promotions, Alia is keeping a keen eye on the way promotions for Brahmastra are shaping up and recently took to Twitter to announce the release date of its trailer on 15 June.
Brahmastra will be made in three parts and apart from Ranbir and Alia it also stars Amitabh Bachchan in an important role. Nagarjuna and Shah Rukh Khan will also do a cameo in this mystery thriller produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

He also shared a glimpse of the soulful song 'Kesariya' with the poster. The director took to his Instagram to share the film's asset.
Explaining the essence of the film's title, he wrote in the caption, "'Love is the Light!' Part One: Shiva is what this first chapter of Brahmastra is now called. But for the longest time, it used to be. Part One: Love. Because at its core, Brahmastra is about the Energy of Love. A Love - that spread like Fire, beyond the Movie, and into Life. So here it is, our Love Poster."
The director further wrote in the caption, "The Time feels Right for it. There is some extra love in the air these days ! (And with it, a little piece of the magic of Kesariya, Pritam (Dada), Amitabh Bhattacharya, Arijit. Shiva & Isha. Ranbir & Alia. Love - The Greatest Astra".
The poster shows Alia and Ranbir sharing an intimate moment with their eyes closed and bruise marks on their appendages.
The film, produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures, also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The film will hit theaters on September 9, in five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
This is because recently Mukherjee revealed that he would like to cast Virat in his film.
Ayan, who is gearing up for the release of his dream project Brahmastra starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for release this September, recently appeared with Ranbir and Alia for a cricket event where he talked about their movie and cricket.
