Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ridiculed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s announcement to make Odisha a trillion-dollar economy.
Begunia and Khordha Assembly segments come under the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency where all three parties are yet to announce their candidates. The delay in picking up candidates has left the electorate confused.

The list of opposition leaders who joined the BJD is long. Congress leader of Titilagarh Surendra Singh Bhoi has been made BJD’s MP candidate for Bolangir after he joined the party. Former Salipur MLA and BJP leader Prakash Behera joined the BJD and has been made Cuttack-Barabati MLA candidate.
The BJP has repeated its candidate K Narayan Rao who had won the seat in 2019. The BJD has given a chance to a new face like Rupesh Panigrahi while the Congress has banked on former chief secretary and senior party leader Bijay Patnaik.
