The locals won 28-26 in the match watched by a crowd of around 5,000 people.
Bengaluru on the other hand won 31-26 defeating the Pirates with ease.
The win propelled the hosts to the fourth position on the league, while the Panthers are a rung below with two back-to-back losses.

With only seconds left on the clock, Warriors had to pin down the raider and they did so with some style bagging three points, and with it, the contest.

The second half was enthralling too as the Warriors made it a point to not budge an inch which reflected in their performance as former captain Nilesh Shinde clinched seven tackle points.
Warriors' skipper Dinesh Kumar joined in the act getting important points for his side as he raided the opponent half and looked to salvage in desperation whatever points he could.
But it took a team effort from the Warriors in the dying seconds of the game to pull off the miraculous victory after being behind for much of the game.
In the second encounter, the man who made the difference for Bengaluru was Manjeet Chhillar, their captain and allrounder, who raided and defended with equal panache to clinch 4 raid points and 7 tackle points for his side and was adjudged the player of the match.
Earlier, former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly sang the national anthem in presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who inaugurated the city leg of the Kabaddi League.
"They have to take a bit of 'panga'. We have won both the IPL and the ISL and I hope we win the kabaddi title too," said Ganguly, expressing support for Bengal Warriors.
The prolific left-handed willower also batted for the success of the league and congratulated the official broadcaster for their efforts.
"I have not played kabaddi much, but I've seen a few matches. It provides a good platform for domestic players."
Banerjee termed the sport her "favourite game".
Naveen Kumar and Chandran Ranjit led from the front as they combined to score 19 raid points. In defence, Ravinder Pahal scored four tackle points. It was a slow performance in second half by Bengal Warriors which led to their downfall.
Maninder Singh top-scored with 8 points but just didn't get enough support from other raiders.
Chandran Ranjit opened Dabang Delhi's account in the second minute with a successful raid.
Maninder Singh picked up a couple of raid points as after two minutes Bengal Warriors leveled the match at 2-2. Bengal Warriors inflicted an all-out in the 9th minute to lead 7-4.
Bengal Warriors held the edge in the first half with Maninder Singh picking up raid points at regular intervals.
In the 15th minute Maninder made a two-point raid to give Bengal 12-8 lead but Chandran Ranjit replied with a two-point raid of his own as Delhi trailed 10-12.
Delhi forced a super tackle in the 16th minute to level the match at 12-12. Bengal Warriors came back strongly to inflict an all out in the 19th minute as they led 17-12.
At the end of the first half, Bengal led 18-12.
Delhi made a strong start to the second half as they picked three raid points in the 21st minute to trail 15-18.
Bengal were in the lead for the first part of the second half as after 25 minutes they led 20-19. Naveen Kumar made a brilliant raid in the 28th minute to give Dabang Delhi 24-20 lead.
In the 32nd minute, Delhi inflicted an all-out to lead 33-23 and went on to clinch the contest comfortably.
Maninder Singh scored 12 raid points for Bengal Warriors to lead his team's charge. Maninder also became the fastest man to reach 500 points in Pro Kabaddi League as he achieved the feat in 56 matches.
For Telugu Titans it was the youngster Armaan who stood out and scored 11 points. Bengal Warriors have already qualified for the playoffs while Telugu Titans ended their campaign with a defeat.

Bengal Warriors inflicted an all out in the 26th minute to lead 30-18. For Telugu Titans the performance of Anand was a revelation as he picked up raid points at will. After 30 minutes, Bengal Warriors led 32-22 and were in full control of the match.
The Titans did try to mount a comeback but the deficit proved too much in the end as they crashed out of the league.
Maninder Singh top scored with 11 points and Surjeet Singh was a rock at the back contained Pirates' danger man Pardeep Narwal. Narwal had a quiet night by his high standards and scored seven points.
Vijay top scored for Patna with 8 points. The defeat means that Patna Pirates' hopes of qualifying for the playoffs got a massive jolt. Bengal Warriors meanwhile have ensured their spot in the playoffs.A

From that moment Bengal Warriors switched gears and went on a momentous run. In the 9thminute Bengal inflicted an all out to lead 13-6.A
Pardeep Narwal scored his third point of the match in the 14th minute as Patna Pirates trailed 10-15. Maninder Singh made a two-point raid in the 20th minute as Bengal Warriors led 20-10 at the end of the first half.
A super tackle on Pardeep Narwal in the 23rd minute gave the Warriors 23-14 lead. Vijay scored with two consecutive raids as Patna trailed 17-24 after 26 minutes. Bengal Warriors sealed Patna's fate in the 29th minute as they inflicted an all out to lead 33-17.
With Pardeep Narwal struggling and their defence unable to contain Bengal Warriors raiders the Pirates were staring at a heavy defeat. In the last 10 minutes, Patna tried hard to reduce the deficit but Bengal Warriors were relentless. The last five minutes of the match were a quiet affair as Bengal Warriors took their foot off the pedal. Still, it was enough to register a resounding win against the defending champions.
Skipper Pardeep Narwal and Deepak Narwal collected 10 raid points each to outclass their neighbours in the East India derby.
Bengal's raiding department couldn't create their magic as they got only 17 points compared to 28 points by Patna.
Jaideep got a High 5 to ensure the defensive supremacy of Patna over Bengal. Maninder Singh was thoroughly neutralized by Patna's defence as he got 6 points in his 18 raids.
Bengal Warriors started with 5 defenders and 2 raiders with Ran Singh playing the dual role for them and wanted to get their payback on Patna who defeated them 29-27, the last time they met.
Ravinder Kumar got Jang Kun Lee in the 2nd minute after his successful bonus attempt to open the scoring for Patna.
Baldev Singh created nuisance for Patna's raiders with assistance from Adarsh T as seen in the 4th minute when he got Deepak Narwal in a dash to make it 4-3 with Patna still leading.
Patna were reduced to 3 men after a few unsuccessful raids by them but caught back when Kuldeep Singh got a strong ankle hold on Maninder to get a Super Tackle in the 9th minute and make it 7-6.
Deepak Narwal then got the important Surjeet Singh and in-form Baldev Singh to make it 9-6 in the next raid.
This led to Bengal conceding an All Out in the 14th minute as Jaideep did a strong block on Jang Kun Lee to take their lead to 16-8.
Maninder got Vikas Kale after his dangling leg just crossed the midline to make the score read 21-12.
The half ended with Patna leading Bengal 22-14.
Patna Pirates continued their supreme domination in the second half getting their lead swelled to 24-14 in the 22nd minute.
Pardeep Narwal got rid of both the corners of Bengal, Baldev Singh and Adarsh T, in his 25th minute Do-Or-Die raid to make it 28-14 and stop their tandem for a few minutes.
This led to Bengal conceding another All Out in the 26th minute as Surjeet Singh had to concede a surrender raid to Pardeep Narwal to make it 32-14.
Maninder was constantly neutralised or kept silent with empty raids in the match. This could be observed by the way he became a victim of Vijay's double thigh hold that looked more like a short block on him to make it 35-17 in the 31st minute.
Pardeep Narwal slowly increased his points tally as he got Baldev Singh trying a waist hold from behind his back unsuccessfully in his 33rd minute Do-Or-Die raid.
A great pursuit raid by Pardeep Narwal saw him get a running hand touch on Maninder which then led to Patna inflict another All Out on Bengal in the 36th minute to make it 45-18.
Bengal then got an All Out on Patna in the 38th minute when they got Deepak Narwal but it was too late as Patna was still on a 20-point lead with the score reading 47-27.
Patna managed to grab a few more points towards the end to comprehensively pocket the tie.
Rahul Chaudhary's eight raid points were not enough to stop Bengal from clinching their fourth victory in this season's league. Bengal rode on collective efforts by Maninder Singh, Baldev Singh and skipper Surjeet Singh, who collected six, five and four points respectively.
The game saw the Surjeet-led side improving their defence as Bengal collected more tackling points than raiding points.
Bengal started on a good note with a 2-0 lead in the initial few momets before Telugu Titans collected few raid points to make the issue 2-3.
Jang Kun Lee collected a bonus point in the third minute to make it 3-1 but a great pursuit raid by Krushna Madane saw him ushered to the bench with the score becoming 3-2.
Maninder got Rahul when he missed an ankle hold and Krushna Madane was ushered as well since he entered the lobby to make it 5-2 in the 4th minute.
Both teams moved forward with a defensive strategy, working on their strengths. Abozar Mighani got his first scalp in the form of Maninder Singh in his Do-Or-Die raid as he dashed him out of the mat in the seventh minute to make it 6-4.
A Super Tackle on Maninder by Farhad Milaghardhan dashing him out of the mat helped them make it 12-10 in the 19th minute. The half ended with Bengal leading by 13-10.
The second half saw Telugu Titans face the inevitable as they conceded the All Out when Farhad Milaghardhan stepped out of the mat without a touch being made and then Nilesh Salunke had to surrender to Ran Singh in the 22nd minute and make it 18-12.
Rahul Chaudhari finally looked like getting his rhythm back as he got 3 touch points in 3 raids. This saw him get Ziaur Rahman, Adarsh T and Surjeet Singh respectively to make it 20-15 in the 26th minute.
Baldev got a Super Tackle on Nilesh Salunke in the 28thminute to make it 22-16 and overturn the momentum in Bengal's favour.
It looked like Telugu Titans would've conceded another All Out in the 32nd minute if Abozar Mighani had not played an important role in stopping Maninder Singh from crossing the midline because he had stepped off the mat.
This converted a five-point raid by Maninder with an All Out converted into a 1 point raid with only Abozar leaving the mat.
The 35th minute saw Mohsen Maghsoudlou make a Super Tackle on Maninder Singh to reduce the lead to seven points with the score reading 26-19.
Bengal Warriors then killed as much time as they could by crushing every single second from a raid. Bengal Warriors won the match against Telugu Titans by 30-25.
The low-scoring match saw both teams struggling to secure raid points and employed a defensive strategy.
Jaideep made it a great show by getting five crucial tackle points on Bengal's raiders. Ran Singh was given the mantle of Maninder Singh which he did a great job at with seven raid points in his
10 raids.
Deepak Narwal did some damage in the end to take Patna Pirates to the victory with seven raid points.
Jaideep is now the best defender in Season VI and the holder of Orange Sleeve.
Patna Pirates were starting the match without their star raider Pardeep Narwal as he was tending his wrist injury while Bengal Warriors were starting without Maninder Singh.
The absence of Pardeep Narwal looked prominent for Patna Pirates as they started to trail by 4 points by the third minute.
It looked like another dismal start to the game by Patna but was overturned by Tushar Patil who came in as a substitute in the fifth minute for a Do-Or-Die raid and Amit Kumar to start the tally for Patna. They equalised by the eighth minute.
Bengal lost Mahesh Goud and Jang Kun Lee to Patna's defense and thus a new face came up as the hero as Ran Singh took the raiding in his hands.
He took two bonus points from under the nose of Patna's defense before he got out to a strong thigh hold by Vijay in the 12 th minute to concede an All Out for Bengal Warriors and make it 9-7.
Both teams then worked on getting the raiders through their defenses as they used Do-Or-
Die raids.
The half ended with Patna Pirates leading Bengal Warriors by 15-12.
Both teams continued to work on Do-Or-Die raids as they made empty raids after empty raids. Bengal Warriors reduce the gap to 1 point by the 25 th minute as Jang Kun Lee did his back kick to make it 16-15.
Patna Pirates increased it back to 4 points by the 27 th minute as Manjeet got Mahesh Goud with an ankle hold while Jaideep came with a dash from behind Goud's'back to make it 19-15.
The 32nd minute saw Deepak Narwal be saved by the line officials who saw Shrikant Tewthia step out of mat while also being the main defender who stopped Deepak from crossing the midline in his 32 nd minute raid.
Ran Singh continued to make great works with his raids which could be seen in his 36 th minute raid where he would have got six players out if his dangling foot would have crossed the midline after being stopped by Jaideep.
Baldev Singh caught a leap frog attempt by Tushar Patil in the 37 th minute to creep back towards equalizing the score line which they achieved by the 38 th minute when Vikas Jaglan got himself out by going out of mat.
The 39th minute saw the substitute Manish make a great ankle hold to make it 27-25 but this raid also saw Jang Kun Lee nurse a shoulder injury.
This cracker of a match ended with Patna Pirates finishing their home leg with a win by 29-27 against Bengal Warriors.
In the last game of the Chennai leg, the burly Maninder Singh scored nine points to lead the charge for Bengal who were impressive in the previous season too and started the match as favourites.
Mahesh Goud (five points) and Ran Singh (four points) also played important roles for Bengal as they made the most of Tamil Thalaivas' silly mistakes throughout the game.
Jasvir Singh came back to form for the home team, scoring seven points while in-form Ajay Thakur continued to toil alone grabbing six points.
Before the start of the game, captain Thakur, had piled up 54 points in four matches, the best start he has ever had to a Pro Kabaddi campaign.
In defence, Manjeet Chhillar scored five points but once again it wasn't enough for their team to cross the line.
It was a complete all-round performance from Bengal as they inflicted all out at crucial moments.

Bengal Warriors were reduced to just one man in the ninth minute and trailed 5-9.

At the end of the first half, Bengal Warriors had inflicted an all out and led 18-15 at the break.
The second half saw Bengal Warriors take full control of the match as they outscored the opposition both in terms of raid points as well as defence. In the 26th minute, they forced another all out to lead 28-19.
With less than 10 minutes to go, Bengal Warriors led 31-22 and looked comfortable. Tamil Thalaivas' fitness levels were not up to the mark as they looked jaded and tired. Bengal Warriors didn't make any mistakes and ran out comfortable winners in the end.
Sukesh Hegde (6 raid points), Mohammad Nabibakhsh (7 points) and Rinku Narwal (High 5 with 5 tackle points) impressed for the Warriors as they picked up a win to go atop the points table.
Rahul Chaudhari scored 7 points for the Thalaivas as they finished their woeful campaign with another loss. The star-studded Chennai-based team managed only four wins in the entire season.
Thalaivas approached the match with confidence, having beaten Jaipur Pink Panthers in their previous outing, and opened up a lead in the early minutes, thanks to Ajith Kumar and Rahul Chaudhari's raids. Rahul moved well on the mat to pick up valuable points, but the Warriors defence soon got into the game with some impressive performance by Mohammad Nabibakhsh.
Soon Warriors were in the lead, but Thalaivas regrouped well to stay in the match. Warriors' lack of ruthlessness then allowed Thalaivas to make a comeback, as the first half ended with the scores tied at 13-13.
Warriors stepped up their game in the second half, thanks largely to raiders Nabibakhsh and Sukesh Hegde. Though Ran Singh pulled off a Super Tackle in the fifth minute of the half, it was just a case of delaying the inevitable with the Warriors picking up their first All-Out in the 8th minute to open up a 6-point lead.
Thalaivas' Ajith Kumar was in no mood to be contained though and his raids made it a 2-point game soon after the All-Out.
But Rinku Narwal produced a Super Tackle with 7 minutes remaining on the clock to halt Thalaivas' progress.
Sourabh Tanaji Patil also chipped in with valuable raid points for the Warriors as they once again opened up a 6-point lead with two minutes remaining. The Warriors defence held firm in the final minutes to clinch victory.
Naveen Kumar was brilliant once again with 18 raid points for Delhi but uncharacteristic errors cost their title hopes in front of a packed audience, including Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, at the EKA Arena by TransStadia.
The Warriors did not have the services of star raider and captain Maninder Singh but got support with his presence as assistant coach of the team in the final match of Season Seven.
The pressure of the final got to the Warriors in the early minutes as Delhi stormed to a 6-0 lead. Naveen Kumar certainly looked charged up for the event while Delhi's cover combination of Anil Kumar and Vishal Mane also seemed keen to stop any raider coming their way.
The Delhi side clinched their All-Out in the 8th minute to open a four-point lead but the Warriors were a different side after the restart. Stand-in captain Mohammad Nabibakhsh picked up his game, clinching valuable raid points, as the Warriors quickly reduced Delhi's lead.
Delhi's Iranian player Meraj Sheykh impressed as a substitute, picking up two raid points in pressure situations, but the Warriors secured their first All-Out with under four minutes remaining for the break.
The closely-contested first-half ended with the scores levelled at 17-17.
The Warriors maintained that momentum in the second half as they quickly got into the lead. Sukesh Hegde once again sizzled for the Warriors with some mature raiding, often getting the better of Ravinder Pahal in Delhi's left corner.
Perhaps the smartest move from the Warriors' camp was to deploy the experienced Jeeva Kumar in a shifting cover role, depending on the raider's strong foot.
The decision helped as the Warriors clinched another All-Out in the 8th minute of the half to open-up a 4-point lead.
Delhi's Naveen Kumar clinched his Super 10 in the 10th minute (21st consecutive) but his side struggled to get a stranglehold of the match as Warriors corner combination of Rinku Narwal and Baldev Singh also got into the game.
The Warriors inflicted another All-Out with six minutes remaining to open-up a 10-point lead.
Naveen Kumar kept trying to script a comeback for the Delhi side, hitting the 300-point milestone in the process, but his work continuously got undone by uncharacteristic errors in the defence with the likes of Joginder Narwal and Ravinder Pahal struggling.
The Warriors' defence held tight in the final minutes to secure their maiden Pro Kabaddi League title.
