A cyclonic circulation formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal off West Bengal coast on Friday (August 27). Under the influence of this cyclonic circulation a Low Pressure area formed over Northwest adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh- South Odisha coasts on Saturday (August 28).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that a Low Pressure Area has formed over North Bay of Bengal (BoB) and neighborhood and currently persists over the same area with an associated cyclonic circulation. The low pressure is likely to become a well-marked over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh in the next 24 hours.

The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar predicted the formation of the Low Pressure in its weather update on Monday.
