Participating in a pre-release press conference here, the ace director, who is presenting the film, said that 'Brahmastra' is not only one of the most awaited films, but is also one of the costliest productions of the year.
"Ayan dreamt about creating a world that we have never seen before -- the magnificent world of astras that we have learnt from our history, our Puranas," Rajamouli said.
"As children, we heard about these astras but have never seen their splendour," the ace director said.
"That is what Ayan has dreamt. It has been a long journey from 2014. He has been ably supported by Karan Johar, Ranbir, Alia, Nagarjuna and Amit sir. Thank you all for making me a part of this fantastic journey," he added.
Explaining why he liked 'Brahmastra' so much, Rajamouli said, "Creating a world that Ayan has created is not easy. Ayan has created a power which still has some limits. He provided the scope to create a bigger villain and also created a scope for the struggle for good to win over evil. It is not like a fairy tale. It is like a commercial way of telling the story of astras. This is what I like about 'Brahmastra'."
Continuing to explain why he loved the film, the director added, "Ayan made sure that among all the astras, including 'Vanara Astra', 'Agni Astra', 'Jalastra' and 'Brahmastra' -- love is the strongest. Not just telling this fact in dialogues, he made sure that his point comes across. That love will win over everything."
Telugu superstar Nagarjuna and Ranbir Kapoor were among those who were part of the question-and-answer session that followed the speeches.
The other six tiger cubs at the zoo including three females were named as Sahil, Adyasa, Vicky, Chinu, Mousumi and Kundan.
Around a year ago, the seven cubs were born to female tigresses Bijaya, Megha and Sneha at Nandankanan.
The zoo authorities have decided to keep the cubs of Bijaya and Megha in the enclosures to let visitors see the baby big cats while cubs of Sneha will be kept at the enclosures later.
The State’s Forest and Environment minister Bijayshree Routray also visited the zoological park today to be part of the naming ceremony.
However, before rushing to theaters to grace your eyes, know some of the interesting stuff you may have missed in all these years.
1. Rajamouli had first approached Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham for the lead roles, Prabhas and Rana are playing, but both denied.
2. Rajamouli's Baahubali entered Guinness Book of World Records for its grand poster of Bahubali: The Beginning which measures more than 50,000 square feet.
3. Both Prabhas and Rana Daggubati gained enormous weight for Baahubali 2. They used to spend hours in gym and were on strict fitness regime, including diet and workout. Both the actors crossed 100-Kg weight for the movie. Besides, Prabhas used to consume 40 boiled egg white everyday.
4. The climax of Baahubali: The Conclusion alone has a reported cost of Rs 30 crore, which is higher than the total budget of many Tamil movies.
5. Anushka Shetty is the only actress to work with Rajamouli for the Second time. The director has a habit of not repeating actress from his previous movies. Vikramarkudu was Anushka’s first film with Rajamouli.
6. The waterfall scene in Bahubali-The Beginning took almost one-third of the total shooting time of the entire film.
7. Anushka Shetty got herself enrolled for a special weight loss programme in the US before the shoot of Baahubali 2 as she had gained around 20 kilos for her upcoming Telugu-Tamil bilingual Size Zero.
8. Baahubali has increases the 'pay per movie' of Tamanna Bhatia by more than double. She was getting around Rs 1.75 Crore per movie prior to her role as Avantika in the movie.
9. Prabhas postponed his marriage for Baahubali 2. The actor is likely to marry soon after the release of the movie to his rumored Bheemavaram-based ladylove.
10. Around 800 technicians were engaged for the movies by director Rajamouli.
In an official statement, UV Creations, makers of the film, announced that after playing the title role in "Baahubali" franchise, Prabhas's next will be an ambitious high-tech action drama titled "Saaho".
The film's director Sujeeth also shared the title on his Twitter page on Sunday.
Talking to IANS earlier this week, Sujeeth said that a major chunk of the film's budget will be used on action sequences.
"The scale on which it is being made, a major budget will be spent on some extravagant action scenes. Although it will be a commercial outing, we are attempting something new and I would like to keep that as a surprise element," Sujeeth said.
International stuntman Kenny Bates, popular for his work on films such as "Die Hard" and "Transformers", has been brought on board.
"Kenny will be supervising the action scenes. We have already finalised locations in Abu Dhabi and some places in Europe where shooting will be done extensively. We go on the floors from the end of May," he said.
The makers also confirmed that a special teaser of "Saaho" will be attached to "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion".
The movie has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. While Sabu Cyril will take care of production design, Madhie will crank the camera.
"We wanted the music to have a national appeal. We roped in Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy because they understand north as well southern sensibilities when it comes to composing music. They have also worked in the south," Sujeeth had said.
"I think ‘Baahubali' has proved it that when you're making a film for the entire nation, it is bigger than any film made in one language. You could be a filmmaker sitting in Madurai and if you have a great superhero film to make, you have the faith and confidence to make your film because there's a country of audience to watch it," Rana told IANS.
Does he feel there is sudden urge to make bigger films, especially after the announcement of Mohanlal-starrer multilingual film "The Mahabharata", to be made on a budget of Rs 1000 crore?
"I think it is amazing filmmakers have started to think big. ‘Baahubali' has given them the license to go big," he said.
In "Baahubali" franchise, Rana plays a fictional character Bhallaladeva, who locks horns over an ancient kingdom with his brother Amarendra Baahubali, played by Prabhas.
Asked if he finds surprising that a negative character vis-à-vis all the positive ones he has played so far has won him nation-wide recognition, he said: "It's a Rs 450 crore war film and it will give you far greater visibility."
"It is the biggest film in the country and even if I played any other character, it would have given me the same visibility. This is franchise cinema which is far bigger than any film that I have been part of so far," he explained.
Rana, known for being part of films such as "Leader", "Dum Maaro Dum" and "Department", says he has always been on the lookout for projects that transcended regional boundaries.
"‘Baahubali' helped me explore new avenues across borders. It has given us so much strength that even while sitting in Hyderabad, we could think of making a huge franchise-based film that will be lapped up by the entire nation. It has taught me to take content to wherever I want," he said, adding the experience of working on the country's biggest film helped him to "understand and portray a character better".
"It is because of the experience of working with finer actors and a highly talented director. Everything I have learnt from both the parts of the film will reflect on whatever I choose to do next," he said.
"Baahubali: The Beginning" had a phenomenal run at the box office. It ended up as one of the biggest grossers of Indian cinema.
Is there a sense of nervousness ahead of the release of "Baahubali 2", considering part one was a huge hit?
"It is the same story audiences are going to watch after two years. It's the continuation of what happened at the end of first part. When we were making part one, we didn't realise how big it will become and where it will take us," Rana said.
"The fact that it has become a brand and has been accepted even internationally, gives you so much more strength to make a greater part two. Ultimately, everything that we have made in this film is bigger than the first part," he added.
Talking about "Baahubali 2", Rana said things got easier while working on this project.
"When we were doing the first part, it was our first attempt in the war genre and everything was new to us. None of us even knew how everything that we are shooting will look in the end with visual effects. There were challenges every single day and it was a struggle to address them," Rana said.
"Though part two was a physically taxing film in every which way, what we did here was we didn't make the same mistakes we made in part one. We had bigger budget to shoot, thanks to the success of first part," he said.
"Baahubali 2...", which also stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, is slated for worldwide release on Friday.
In "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", Ajay plays the role of a dacoit.
"Even though it's a small role, the time spent with Rajamouli sir on the sets is equivalent to going to a film school. Working with him has been rewarding. You can learn so much even if you spend a few hours with him," Ajay told IANS.
Excited about being part of one of India's biggest motion pictures, he said he can't wait to see himself on the screen.
"To see myself as part of the country's most anticipated film is the biggest achievement of my career so far. I play a dacoit in Anushka's kingdom and very excited to know how audiences will receive me," he said.
The actor will next be seen in Tamil film "Thappu Thanda".
Meanwhile, "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" is slated for worldwide release on April 28. It also stars Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj.
However, Prabhas will soon have a love story. Yes, you heard it right. He will be seen romancing Pooja Hegde in his next flick.
Recently, Pooja was seen super excited for playing the lady love of Prabhas and was just smiling while narrating about the movie.
“I’m super excited,” she exclaims talking about her film with Prabhas. The script is amazing, and I’m genuinely excited about the story. It’s an interesting love story between Prabhas and me and both the characters are really strong. We will be shooting in Europe in August-September,” said the actress.
According to Filmfare, Pooja is currently busy preparing for the period drama, going through workshops with director, Radhakrishna and trying to understand her character and the script better.
Besides, Pooja is glad about playing the lead female character in Prabhas’next after Saaho and is passionately looking forward to begin shooting for it. “Whatever happens, happens for the best,” she said.
On work front, the ‘Mohenjo Daro’ actress has four films on her table:
A family entertainer with Jr NTR, a love story with Mahesh Babu, a period film with Prabhas and a comedy, Housefull series, with Bollywood’s Akshay Kumar.
Said to have been made on a budget of Rs.250 crore, including the upcoming second part in the franchise, the film collected between Rs.60 crore to Rs.70 crore on the first day worldwide.
"The actual box office gross collection on release day worldwide could be between Rs.60 crore and Rs.70 crore. This is the biggest ever opening for an Indian film, surpassing even Bollywood blockbusters like 'Happy New Year' and 'Dhoom: 3'," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
"Going by the early estimated figures for the second day, the film could have already entered the Rs.100 crore club worldwide," he said.
On the first day, the film collected Rs.50 crore in India, with an additional Rs.16 crore coming from overseas.
With the distributor nett share of Rs.42.3 crore on the first day in the country, "Baahubali" has surpassed "Happy New Year" (Rs.42 crore), "Dhoom: 3" (Rs.32 crore), "Singam Returns" (Rs.31.8 crore), "Chennai Express" (Rs.31 crore), "Ek Tha Tiger" (Rs.30.3 crore), "Bang Bang" (Rs.28 crore), "Kick" (Rs.26 crore), "PK" (Rs.25 crore) and "Agneepath" (Rs.22 crore).
Released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi parallelly, "Baahubali" has surprisingly performed extremely well in all the languages.
In its Hindi version, it netted Rs.5.15 crore on the first day, making it the highest opening for a dubbed film.
"The record was previously held by Rajinikanth-starrer 'Robot' with Rs.2.2 crore and Kamal Haasan's 'Vishwaroop' with Rs.1.9 crore. Going at this rate, the Hindi version of 'Baahubali' is looking at Rs.15 crore nett in its opening weekend," Trinath said.
"Baahubali" is also the biggest earning south Indian film on the opening day.
The previous best opening was held by Rajinikanth-starrer "Lingaa", with Rs.22 crore and followed by Shankar-directed "I" with Rs.20 crore.
It's not only in India where the film has raked in the moolah. In US, it has set the cash registers on fire.
"'Baahubali' Telugu version collected a whopping Rs.14.96 crore from Thursday premieres and Friday," according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
In its opening weekend in the US, the film is expected to touch $5 million.
"Aamir Khan's 'PK' had collected $3.1 million in its first weekend in US. 'Baahubali' has already crossed $2 million from Thursday and Friday," Trinath added.
Producer Dil Raju, who distributed the film in Nizam area, is extremely happy with the numbers.
"The film has showcased the true potential of Telugu cinema. It has shown the world we can produce films that are content driven and still commercially successful. The film is doing extremely well and is on its way to become the biggest blockbuster in Indian cinema," Raju told IANS.
"Baahubali" released on as many as 4,000 screens across the globe.
"The wide release worked in the film's favour. And since it released in multiple languages, it could cater to large number of audiences. Had the film only released in Telugu, it would've been impossible to recover the high cost," Trinath said.
The film, which stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles, is about two brothers fighting over an ancient kingdom.
It has received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.
Heaping praise on Rajamouli, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur said other filmmakers should be as courageous as him.
"Filmmakers from South India are showing far more courage than the North. Where are the courageous filmmakers like @ssrajamouli in Mumbai? (sic)," Kapur wrote on his Twitter page.
With 9.4 IMDB rating, "Baahubali" is the highest rated Indian film on the site.
"We can’t take on China and other such countries because they are technically way superior to us. We are combating several issues including ones requiring the intervention of information & broadcasting ministry", Johar said here.
"We are extremely crippled as we’re either fighting censors, screens and we’re fighting political issues. Everyday we are fighting against the FIRs filed against us. We’re soft targets and if someone leaves the industry alone, we can prosper. With every release, I fear who is going to slap a case on me for something random and ridiculous," he added.
The 43-year-old has bought the theatrical rights of the Hindi version of southern filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli's "Baahubali: The Beginning".
The two-part epic film narrates the story of two brothers who fight for a kingdom.
"Baahubali: The Beginning", which stars Sudeep, Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah and Ramya Krishnan, is slated to release on July 10.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) called off the launch of Chandrayaan-2 that would send an orbiter, lander and rover to explore the Moon's South Pole, saying a technical snag was observed in launch vehicle system and a revised launch date would be announced later.
"Happy that the snag was recognised well in time... It can all be fixed on Earth... Post Lift Off... it's not possible... Hopefully the revised launched date will be soon... Awaiting," tweeted on user.
"Safety and Precaution before a mishap is important," tweeted another.
The Rs 978 crore Chandrayaan-2 mission is aimed to make India the fourth nation in the world to land and ride on the lunar surface. The other three nations that had achieved this feat are Russia, the US and China.
"It seems space enthusiasts may have to hold on to their excitement for weeks, if not months, till @isro is able to fix the technical glitch and is ready with the next launch window," said one user.
"So what? Tiger always takes 2 steps back before leaping towards prey successfully... We wait for you!! Good luck!!! Make us proud again and again..." posted a user.
Chandrayaan-2 will attempt to soft land the lander, Vikram, and rover, Pragyan, in a high plain between two craters, Manzinus C and Simpelius N, at a latitude of about 70 degree south.
The 3.8 tonne complex mission will have an orbiter with 8 scientific experiments, a lander with three experiments, a rover with two experiments and one passive experiment from the US space agency NASA.
"That's the main reason for the success of @isro because they count, calculate and observe every minute of their mission. So that mission can complete in one attempt. Many congratulations for detecting the defect during #Chandrayaan2 which say many things in itself," posted another user on Twitter.
"Congratulations to the scientists of @isro for successful launch of India's first exploratory mission, #Chandrayaan2 to our celestial neighbour," Patnaik said in a twitter post.
"The historic journey will carry billions of dreams to #Moon, making a giant leap in space exploration," the chief minister tweeted.

Earlier on the day, India successfully launched its second lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 on-board its powerful rocket GSLV-MkIII-M1 from the spaceport at Sriharikota to explore the uncharted south pole of the celestial body by landing a rover.
The geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle lifted-off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre into cloudy skies at 2.43 pm and successfully placed the 3,850-kg Chandrayaan-2 into the earth orbit about 16 minutes later.
These leaders also congratulated the ISRO scientists and engineers for the "historic launch", and said it was a proud moment for all Indians.
The mission is expected to lead to new discoveries and enrich India's knowledge systems, Kovind said.
In a series of tweets, Modi said every Indian is immensely proud today.
Referring to the indigenous systems used in Chandrayaan-2, he said the mission is "Indian at heart, Indian in spirit!...Efforts such as Chandrayaan-2 will further encourage our bright youngsters towards science, top quality research and innovation."
The Prime Minister also shared pictures of him watching the launch on a large screen and shared his audio message to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) after the successful launch.
Congratulating the ISRO, BJP President and Home Minister Amit Shah said they have set another benchmark in the field of space technology and that a grateful nation is proud of the ISRO scientists.
"I also thank PM Modi ji for encouraging our institutions for setting new standards every time," Shah said in a tweet.
Congress hailed team ISRO for the successful launch of Chandryaan2, but also sought to claim credit for India's advancement in space exploration, citing the contribution of its Prime Ministers.
"This is a good time to remember the visionary move of India's first PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to fund space research through INCOSPAR in1962 which later became ISRO. And also Dr. Manmohan Singh for sanctioning the #Chandrayan2 project in 2008," the party said in a tweet from its official Twitter handle.
Congress' chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also hailed the launch, saying India's tryst with destiny continues.
"There are defining moments like these that make us a great nation. My gratitude to all scientists and space engineers at ISRO who have toiled day & night to make 130 Cr Indians proud!" he said in a tweet.
A day before the launch, senior Congress leader Anand Sharma had said India's space journey began with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and took a giant leap in 1975 with the launch of Aryabhat, led by "charismatic PM Indira Gandhi".
"ISRO has many notable achievements including Chandrayaan (2008) and Mangalayaan (2013). Wishing Team ISRO all the best for Chandrayaan2," he had said in a tweet.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said team ISRO scripted a new chapter in India's space history with the launch of this ambitious and indigenous Mission to moon.
"Today's launch of Chandrayaan 2 reflects India's growing prowess in space technology. Congratulations Team!," Information and Broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar said.
BJP's working president J P Nadda also hailed the lauched and congratulated ISRO scientists for making Indians proud.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the country is proud of the historic achievement of ISRO scientists.
Former President Pranab Mukherjee said the launch was an extremely proud moment for the nation.
"Having closely observed Chandrayaan1 & MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission) in the Govt, I commend our brilliant scientists at ISRO for their stupendous progress over the years," he said.
The geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle lifted-off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 2.43 pm and successfully placed the 3,850-kg Chandrayaan-2 into the earth orbit about 16 minutes later.
The mission's success brought in huge relief for ISRO scientists after the July 15 launch was called off just about an hour left following a technical glitch in the rocket.
The Rs 978 crore mission, that will mark a giant leap in India's space research and make it only the fourth country to have landed a rover on Moon.
The country's most powerful rocket "GSLV-Mk-III" carrying the orbiter, lander Vikram and rover Pragyaan took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The 3,850-kg Chandrayaan-2 was launched on Monday after a technical snag forced the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to abort the planned July 15 mission.
The Lander and the Rover are expected to touch down near the Lunar South Pole in early September, becoming the first ever spacecraft to land in that region. The Lunar South Pole remains unexplored till date.
The launch of Chandrayaan-2 comes at the heels of the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11, when man first landed on the moon, The Washington Post commented.
India has also announced its intention of sending a manned space mission by 2022, the leading American newspaper recalled.
India's low-cost, homegrown technology that has powered its space programme is a source of national pride and inspiration, it said.
Quoting experts, the Post said the successful second attempt so soon after the aborted launch highlights ISRO's confidence in its technological capabilities, which have not been hamstrung by its paltry USD 1.8 billion budget. In comparison, NASA received USD 21.5 billion in funds this year, the Post noted.
"If the rest of the mission goes as well, India will become the fourth nation after the United States, Russia and China to land on the moon, more than 200,000 miles away. Its target is a region near the mysterious south pole, where no other missions have explored," The New York Times commented.
"This would be a huge leap forward for India's ambitious space programme, and scientists and defence experts everywhere are watching to see whether the country can pull it off," it said.
"So are countless Indians. There are few things as unifying for a nation as a successful space programme, and, over the past few weeks, Chandrayaan-2 posters have popped up everywhere and schoolchildren have been hunched over rockets made from soda bottles, learning the physics of rocketry," the report noted.
This mission is significant for India -- the country wants to become a major space player and put Indian astronauts in space by 2022, CNN commented.
In 2014, India became the first Asian nation to reach the Red Planet, when it put the Mangalyaan probe into orbit around Mars. The Mars Orbiter Mission famously cost USD 74 million -- less than the $100 million than Hollywood spent making space thriller "Gravity."
In 2017, India launched a record 104 satellites in one mission while operating a low-cost budget, the CNN report noted.
Leading British newspaper, The Guardian reported that Chandrayaan-2 aims to become the first mission to conduct a surface landing on the lunar south pole region, where it will collect crucial information about the moon's composition.
It would be India's first surface landing on the moon a feat previously achieved by only Russia, the US and China, the paper noted.
The Times newspaper of London reported that India has launched a rocket to the moon, aiming to become the fourth country to land a craft on the lunar surface and cement its emergence as a leading space power.
It is the most complex mission ever attempted by India's space agency, the BBC commented while noting that there was applause in the ISRO control room minutes after the launch, as the rocket took off towards the outer atmosphere.
China's state-run Xinhua news agency gave extensive coverage to Chandrayaan-2's launch and reactions of President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pakistan's leading newspapers on their websites displayed the news of the launch by international news agencies.
Prabhas took his excitement to the social media and penned down the heartfelt words…
“Hello Darlings! It’s is a proud day for all of us Indians as ISRO’s Chandrayaan-2 took flight today. It is a further honour for the entire Baahubali team with the rocket being regarded as Bahubali for its magnum opus scale, years of hard work in the making and first of its kind capacity to carry 300 tonnes. More power to India.”
The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV-Mk III) took off from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota spaceport. Chandrayaan-2 was successfully launched today at around 2.43 p.m. from Sriharikota. After around About 16 minutes of flight, the Bahubali rocket put Chandrayaan-2 in the orbit to begin its 48-day journey to the Moon.
With the success of Chandrayaan-2 mission, India will become the fourth country in the world to land a vehicle and travel on the Moon surface following the US, Russia and China.
A few days back, Darling Prabhas’ “Baahubali: The Beginning” completed its 4 years. The team thanked everyone for making the film flourish across the world.
Prabhas tweeted…
“Shattered all the box office records & merged as all-time top 3 in Indian film industry.”

Bringing an end to the long-wait, Prabhas’s upcoming movie ‘Saaho’ will soon hit the theatres.
"Good step. They are far ahead of us in technology. Pakistan should learn from it," one person was seen as saying in a video of Lahore-based YouTuber Sana Amjad.
On July 22, the Chandrayaan-2 was injected into an elliptical orbit of 170x45,475 km by India's heavylift rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV Mk III) in a textbook style.
The Chandrayaan-2 is scheduled to reach Moon by August 20.
"We appreciate it. We should learn from them and decide what we should do," another person was seen saying.
However, some even cautioned that India's progress in science and technology has put people of Pakistan in a "dangerous neighbourhood" and therefore the country should focus on investing in youth and science and technology.
Embassies of different countries including Israel, the US and Germany conveyed greetings to India's space agency for the "giant leap".
The Israeli embassy tweeted: "Congratulations India and Team @ISRO on successfully launching Mission #Chandrayaan2. Good luck on the @Chandrayaan2theMoon journey, we will be right behind you when Beresheet2 takes #IsraelToTheMoon."
Beresheet-2 is Israel's second mission to land an Israeli spacecraft on the Moon.
The US embassy posted: "Congratulations #ISRO on today's giant leap! Next stop - the moon'! #Chandrayaan2 #CantWaitToSeeWhatYouDoNext #GSLVMkIII"
The German Embassy, in its congratulatory tweet, posted "India is a most valuable partner in cutting edge research in space and on our blue planet. Germany is proud to be a close partner of ISRO," it said.
According to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the spacecraft's maneuver began at 6.21 p.m. using its onboard propulsion system for 52 seconds.
The orbit achieved is 119 km x 127 km. All spacecraft parameters are normal.
The next crucial operation is the separation of Vikram, the lander, from the spacecraft scheduled on September 2 at 12.45 p.m. -1.45 p.m.
After Vikram's separation, there will be two de-orbital operations on September 3 and 4 so that it could soft land on the moon's south pole on September 7 at 1.30 a.m.- 2.30 a.m.
On July 22, the Rs 978 crore Chandrayaan-2 was launched into the space by India's heavy lift rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV Mk III) in a text book style.
The spacecraft comprises three segments - the Orbiter (weighing 2,379 kg, eight payloads), the lander 'Vikram' (1,471 kg, four payloads) and rover 'Pragyan' (27 kg, two payloads).
The Rebel star has adopted 1,650 acres of reserve forest on the outskirts of Hyderabad for which he handed over a cheque of Rs. 2 crore to the Forest Department for the development of the forest, known as the Khazipally reserve forest.
Prabhas was accompanied by Telangana Forest Minister Allola Indra Karan Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar when he laid the foundation stone for an urban forest.
They inspected the reserve forest from a temporary watch tower and later planted a few saplings.
Later Prabhas took to social media to share this initiative by him. He said, “I've taken the initiative to adopt and develop 1650 acres of Kazipalli Reserve Forest. Having always been a nature lover, I believe this would create an additional lung space for the city. #Prabhas #GreenIndiaChallenge”
