Sarangi on Tuesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for nominating her.

According to sources, all MLAs, MPs, district presidents, Zilla Parishad members, block chairmen and mayors of three municipal corporations of the state will be present during the last day of the workshop.

The other members of the committee are  Rajya Sabha MPs -- former Uttar Pradesh DGP Brij Lal and Samir Oraon, Lok Sabha MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore , and Sunil Jakhar, a BJP leader from Punjab, the party said in a statement.

According to allegations levelled by the BJP MP, the share of low-grade iron ore in 2019-2020 was 23 per cent of ores which increased to 95% in financial year 2021-2022.  

Slamming the ruling BJD, the Parliamentarian said, “There are two types of solution – a temporary and a permanent one. Even after reigning for over 20 years, the Odisha government has miserably failed to make a permanent solution. They are only interested in temporary solutions."

The reaction of the district administration could not be obtained on the allegations.

BJP workers staged a protest outside Baramunda High School in Bhubaneswar in protest against the exclusion of MP Aparajita Sarangi and a local Corporator of the party from the 73rd state-level Van Mahotsav celebrations.

Speaking to reporters, Panda said, “The letter from the Chief Secretary serves its purpose. There is an unnecessary controversy created by the BJP and the Centre has been cleared with all the doubts by the CS.”

“I am repeatedly saying it that the government has painted itself into a corner by carrying out the construction works of Srimandir Heritage Corridor project. They are well aware of the fact that the Ancient Monuments and Archeological Sites and Remains (AMASR) Act, 1958 have been violated," said MP Sarangi.

During her meeting with the Union Minister, Sarangi said, Prachi river, which is 78 km long, once used to be the lifeline of six blocks- Balianta, Baranga, Kantapada, Niali, Kakatpur and Astatang in three districts- Khordha, Cuttack and Puri.

In a series of tweets, Bhubaneswar MP revealed that the present Secretary of Works Department and Chairman of Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation (OBCC), which is executing the Srimandir Parikrama Project, is also the Chief Administrator of Shri Jagannath Temple Administration.
