Dr M Srinivas, Dean, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Hyderabad, has been appointed as Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

In a letter to its members seeking opinion over the speculation, FAIMS said, "You must have seen/heard news about changing name of AIIMS with that of some famous personality/leader/freedom fighter or place. FAIMS believes that this will lead to impending loss of identity of AIIMS."

The Central government has proposed to rechristen the various branches of India’s premier health Institute, AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences). It has proposed to change the names of all 23 AIIMS after local heroes, freedom fighters, historical events or monuments.

The patient was undergoing treatment at the surgery ward, which is on the fifth floor of the premier hospital. He allegedly jumped off the window of the ward.

The online registration for the vacant posts has begun on May 26 and will continue till June 15, 2022.

The whole tumour was excised and a total femur mega-prosthesis was implanted during the four-hour surgery. "This was the first surgery of total femur replacement in Odisha," the hospital said.

The department of Radio-diagnosis and lnterventional Radiology of AIIMS has started it on trial basis for OPD patients. The films and reports will be issued to the patients on the same day.
