The 5G spectrum auction has been completed and all formalities including approvals, allocation and taking upfront payments will be completed in the next few days (by Aug 12), said IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday.
Led by Reliance Jio, the mega 5G spectrum auction ended on Monday after receiving record bids worth over Rs 1.5 lakh crore in 40 rounds spanning across seven days.
After a flying start on Tuesday that saw players pouring in Rs 1.45 lakh crore on day one, the numbers inched up incrementally over Wednesday and Thursday.
The 5G smartphone shipment share reached 29 per cent of overall shipments in the second quarter (Q2), which was the highest ever.
The annual event is expected to witness 70,000 attendees, 7,000 CXO-level delegates, 300 speakers, and 350 exhibitors in more than 60 sessions.
Analysts said Ambani's Reliance Jio may be the most aggressive of those in the race.
Jio, it is expected, will lead the spends, followed by Bharti Airtel, while analysts see limited participation from Vodafone Idea and Adani Group.
Reliance Jio Infocomm has submitted an EMD of Rs 14,000 while Bharti Airtel has put in Rs 5,500 crore.
