Kolkata: A scintillating batting performance led by Mohammad Hafeez and skipper Shahid Afridi powered Pakistan to an imposing 201/5 against Bangladesh in their World Twenty20 Group encounter at the Eden Gardens here on Wednesday.

While Hafeez with 64 runs off 42 balls was the top scorer, skipper Afridi was at its destructive best scoring 49 of just 19 balls.

Opener Ahmed Shehzad with 52 off 39 balls was the other major contributor for Pakistan, who chose to bat first after winning the toss.

For Bangladesh, Arafat Sunny returned with bowling figures of 2/34 and Taskin Ahmed 2/32.
