Varun Chakaravarthy's mocking post goes viral
India secured a thrilling five-wicket victory over Pakistan to claim the Asia Cup 2025 title on Sunday in Dubai. However, the post-match focus quickly shifted from India’s win to the trophy controversy. Citing political tensions between the two nations, Team India refused to accept the trophy from ACC Chairman and Pakistan Minister Mohsin Naqvi. After delaying the presentation, the Indian team stood firm, forcing Naqvi to take the winning trophy and medals back to his hotel.
Adding to Pakistan’s frustration, several Team India players shared gestures and comments on social media that went viral. Spinner Varun Chakaravarthy, in particular, caught widespread attention with his Instagram post celebrating the win.
He shared photos of the team celebrating with an imaginary trophy, including one where he posed on his bed holding a teacup as if it were the actual trophy. His caption read: "Akkha duniya ek taraf, aur mera India ek taraf. Jai Hind."
Chakaravarthy played a key role in India’s victory, taking two important wickets in the final against Pakistan, dismissing openers Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46).
Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh also joined in on the fun, posting three videos with teammates Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma, and Kuldeep Yadav.
