Known for his deep fascination with technology and machines, the former Indian skipper has officially taken to the skies, this time as a trained drone operator.

A New Passion Takes Flight

On October 7, Dhoni shared the big news on social media, announcing that he has obtained his drone pilot licence. The certification comes after he completed training at Garuda Aerospace’s DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organization in Chennai.

Garuda Aerospace, one of India’s leading drone manufacturers, confirmed that its brand ambassador and investor successfully completed the rigorous training program.

A Milestone Moment for Garuda Aerospace

Reacting to Dhoni’s latest feat, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, said Dhoni’s commitment was inspiring. “He picked it up very quickly and stayed extremely focused. Having Mahi Bhai complete the training is a monumental milestone for us,” he said, praising Dhoni’s belief in their mission to revolutionise India’s drone industry.

Beyond the Cricket Field

Since retiring from international cricket in 2020, Dhoni has explored multiple passions, from farming and vintage automobiles to golf and adventure sports. A Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) in the Territorial Army, Dhoni has also completed paratrooper training and served in Jammu and Kashmir.
