The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, a venue historically known for assisting slow bowlers. With the surface expected to grip and turn, Zimbabwe believe conditions could amplify India’s recent struggles against off-spin.

India’s batting lineup features multiple left-handers, including Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan at the top. Zimbabwe plan to exploit match-ups by turning the ball away from them during the powerplay.

Burl confirmed that Zimbabwe’s bowling variety gives them flexibility.

“We’ve got left-arm seamer, right-arm seamer, a couple of leg-spinners, an off-spinner, a left-arm offie. So we do have quite a lot of depth… it will come down to the match-ups depending on the batters that are out there.”
