Margao: First-half strike by Oran Rakesh helped Odisha to edge past Meghalaya in the final round of the 34th Sub-Junior National Football Championship played at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, here on Saturday.

Oran Rakesh struck in the 2nd minute of the first-half for the winner. In an another match, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh had to settle for an exciting 3-3 draw.

Mohammed Laki put Uttar Pradesh in the lead in the 8th minute but Suman Sarkar equalised in the 20th minute for Karnataka.

A minute later, Ananda Pal put UP back in the lead. But Karnataka equalised in the 27th minute through Suman Sarkar again with the score reading 2-2 at half time.

Karnataka who held upper hand in the second half forged ahead in the 58th minute and looked to collect full points, but a late goal by V K Pal in the 86th minute helped Uttar Pradesh find the equaliser.
