Chennai: India opener Virender Sehwag is doubtful for their final group B match of the World Cup against West Indies here on Sunday due to a knee injury.

"Viru has got an allergic reaction in his right knee. We will take a call (on Sehwag) either in the evening or by morning before the game," India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni told reporters on the eve of their match at the MA Chidambaran Stadium here.

In case the dashing opener is ruled out, Gautam Gambhir will come back to his preferred opening slot, with Suresh Raina completing the middle-order.

It must be mentioned that Sehwag skipped Team India`s optional practice session on Wednesday.

With 327 runs from five matches, Sehwag is India`s leading scorer in the ongoing quadrennial extravaganza.

India have been assured of a quarterfinal berth after South Africa thrashed Bangladesh by 206 runs in Dhaka today.

Group leader South Africa`s massive win has paved the way for India and England`s progress to the knockout stage, while West Indies will have to lose by a huge margin to the hosts to miss out on a last 16 berth.
