SAfrica win toss, elect to bat in 1st ODI

Durban: South African skipper Graeme Smith won the toss and elected to bat first against India in the first one-dayer here on Wednesday.

For India, Piyush Chawla, R Ashwin, S Sreesanth and Umesh Yadav have failed to make the final XI, while veteran Sachin Tendulkar will play his first ODI in close to a year.


India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, M Vijay, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Munaf Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan.

South Africa: Graeme Smith (captain), Hashim Amla, Colin Ingram, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, David Miller, Johan Botha, Wayne Parnell, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn.
