Pune FC aim to finish among top five

Pune had beaten Dempo 3-2 in a thriller to spoil their chance of defending the title and are placed sixth with 33 points.

They have a good chance to finish fifth if they win against Churchill Brothers and Bagan loss their last match.

Churchill Brothers`chances of winning the title is over even if they win tomorrow as they have inferior head-to-head record against Salgaocar, who have beaten them on both the occasion.

They are now looking to win tomorrow and finish second behind Salgaocar as they have better goal difference than Dempo.

Churchill Brothers coach Drago Mamic knows that the title is lost but wants to win tomorrow and finish second behind Salgaocar.

"We tried our best but luck was not in our way as we lost crucial matches Pune FC are playing well and we should not lose focus on tomorrow`s match but play to the potential as our opponent will come hard on us as they also want to finish among the first five,"stated Mamic.

Pune FC coach Derick Pereira was all praise for his boys who have played well towards the end, winning three matches out of four.

Hopefully they continue to play in the same way to end the league engagement on a happy note, Pereira said.
