Bhubaneswar: Seven boxers from Odisha brought laurels to the State following their participation at the 29th Sub Junior National Boxing Championship held in Hyderabad from September 27 to 30, 2017.

The State team bagged a Gold and six Bronze medals in the event in five weight categories.

While Anil Kumar Jena won Gold in the 54-57 kg category, Anil Kumar Nayak in 32-34 kg, Jitendra Kumar Mohanty in 40-42 kg, Muhammad Tukan in 46-48 kg, Kishore Kumar Pradhan in 54-57 kg, Rajesh Munda along with Sanjeeb Nayak won bronze in in 36-38 weight categories.

The National Boxing Championship for the men aged 12 to 15 was hosted by the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) and its affiliate Telangana Boxing Association (TBA), at Lal Bahadur Indoor Stadium in Basheer Bagh, in collaboration with Ethic Sports Foundation.
