Odisha para powerlifters put up an impressive performance at the 23rd Senior, 18th Junior & 2nd Sub-Junior National Para Powerlifting Championship 2025–26, winning one Silver and one Bronze medal on the final day of the competition at Roorkee on Sunday and bringing laurels to the state.

In the Junior Men’s 59 kg category, Shyama Marandi won the Bronze Medal with a successful lift of 50 kg, displaying strong determination and competitive spirit against top national lifters.

Continuing Odisha’s success, Sarojini Parida secured the Silver Medal in the Sub-Junior Women’s 55 kg category with a lift of 20 kg. Her performance highlights the rising talent and promising future of young para powerlifters from Odisha.

The Para Sports Association of Odisha (PSAO) congratulated the medal winners and appreciated the efforts of all participating athletes for their hard work, discipline, and dedication in representing the state at the national level.
