The much-awaited Singham Again trailer dropped on Monday. The third instalment of the Singham franchise brings together some of the big names in the industry together. While Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan are in the lead, and Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh in cameos, the actors will be reprising their respective roles, and Arjun Kapoor will be seen as the antagonist. On the other hand, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff are the newest additions to the franchise having an introductory action-packed entry in Singham Again.
While Deepika Padukone's character name in the Cop Universe is Shakti Shetty aka Lady Singham, Tiger Shroff is introduced as ACP Satya Pattnaik. The trailer gives a glimpse into the high-end action sequences with all the cops uniting to take down modern-day Raavan aka Arjun Kapoor and rescue Kareena after 'Lanka Dahan'.
Be it the menacing look of Arjun Kapoor, the car-turning sequences, the adrenaline-pumping chase game between the cop and the villain, and the power-packed entry of all the cops, the expectations among fans from the movie have elevated.
However, Deepika Padukone's 'cringe' performance as Shakti Shetty has triggered social media banters among haters and fans.
While haters brutally trolled the Gehraiyaan actress, fans took a stand for their favourite star.
A few netizens pointed out the cringe expressions of Deepika and others went on to lash out at the actress for her accent, dialogue delivery and actions.
One user wrote, "Deepika Padukone’s Accent - Cringe Expressions - so fake Dialogue -Action - tatti How she is surviving in this industry ?” (sic)
Another simply wrote, "Deepika cringe." (sic)
"Never imagined Deepika doing such cringe acting when we have Arjun and tiger in the film," wrote another. (sic)
Even some others also compared her with Arjun Kapoor and praised the latter.
One commented, "I cringed so hard at this scene. Even Arjun Kapoor acted better than her, there’s not even one expression on her face Singham Kam khichdi show zyada lag raha h.” (sic)
Some also pointed out that her accent in the trailer is similar to her character Meenamma from Chennai Express.
