Millennium star Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Shah Rukh Khan were last seen together in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna in 2006. Now it seems that both the iconic stars are all set to mark their return to the silver screen after 17 years for a new project.
Earlier, the duo was seen together in Mohabbatein, Kabhi Khusi Kabhie Gham, Veer Zaara and Paheli. All these movies went on to become blockbusters. Later, the duo shared screen space in 2006’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna which also starred Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, and Kirron Kher.
Though Big B and SRK were a part of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva, they didn’t appear together onscreen. While Amitabh was seen in a pivotal role of Raghu, the guru of Brahmansh, SRK was seen in a cameo role as ‘Mohan Bhargav’, a former NASA scientist.
A few months back, it was speculated that both the iconic actors would appear together in Don 3. However, the recent announcement of Ranveer Singh as the lead actor in Don 3, somehow restricted the buzz.
However, the latest buzz in the industry suggests, they are all set to return together.
A source was quoted as saying, “There is an interesting project in the works where Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan will once again be sharing the screen together. Not a lot of news surrounding this project is out yet, but there will soon be more updates and news coming out.”
If the reports are anything to go by, it will be certainly a delight for cine lovers who have enjoyed the charm of the duo together on screen. However, fans need to wait for an official confirmation about the same.
Meanwhile, the buzz has already filled excitement among fans of the duo. Social media is getting flooded with posts showing the mounting anticipation among all.
On the work front, Amitabh has Ganapath, The Umesh Chronicles, Kalki 2898 AD, and Butterfly in the pipeline. On the other hand, SRK is gearing up for the release of his action thriller Jawan which also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles, while Deepika Padukone and Sanya Malhotra will be seen in a special appearance. SRK also has Dunki in his kitty. Moreover, he will also be seen in a cameo appearance as Pathaan in Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi-led Tiger 3.
