London: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has praised goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, relegated to the bench in the last three games, asserting that the Chilean is "one of the best in the world."

Bravo, who arrived at Manchester City from FC Barcelona last summer, has been harshly criticised by the British media for his performance in the first half of the season, reports Efe news agency.

"My opinion of Claudio remains the same. He's a top player," Guardiola said at a press conference on Friday.

"He's one of the best in the world. His long career speaks for itself. The decision I take is based on what I see. That's why I'm here," he added.

Guardiola has used goalkeeper Willy Caballero in the last three games, two in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup, leaving the Chilean on the bench.

Asked who will start on Monday in the league match against Bournemouth, the Spanish coach said he has not yet decided.
