Rohit Sharma returned to an aggressive form in the 2nd India-England ODI at Barabti Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday. While social was abuzz with the skipper’s 119 off 90 balls, a post-match picture of him on a phone call at the venue sparked further buzz.
Fans remained on his choice of mobile phone, which appeared to be a OnePlus 12 or 13. Speculations swirled online, with many questioning why he wasn’t using an iPhone. Furthermore, many fans also took to social media to highlight that Sharma likely did not own just one phone but perhaps plenty of others.
“He has 7 phones OnePlus is one of them. He has 6 iPhones too,” said one on X (formerly Twitter). Another remarked with a cheeky jibe writing, “he is the Indian captain but even he knows that iPhones are just too expensive”.
The picture also brought back memories from September 2023, when Sharma’s iPhone was reportedly stolen during a practice session ahead of an ODI against Australia in Rajkot.

Further, teammate Virat Kohli once also humorously highlighted Sharma’s forgetfulness on a YouTube show, saying, “He misplaces phones, iPads, wallets, even passports. I’ve never seen anyone so forgetful!”
On that note, fans went further abuzz with comments like “Replacing an iphone everyday will be very expensive so One Plus does the job” and “He forgot the iphone and just purchased a OnePlus at Cuttack”.
On the field in Cuttack, Sharma’s fiery demeanour dominated the game. However, while his century powered India’s series-clinching four-wicket win, his temper flared multiple times.
