A Bidding Battle to Remember

Delhi Capitals were the first to show faith in Auqib, raising the paddle at his base price. Rajasthan Royals briefly joined the race before stepping aside. The momentum then shifted as Royal Challengers Bengaluru entered with a bid of Rs1.1 crore, only to be followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad. What followed was an intense duel between DC and SRH, with the price soaring past Rs 7 crore before Delhi Capitals finally sealed the deal at Rs 8.40 crore.

Domestic Form That Turned Heads

Auqib Nabi’s rise has been fueled by a remarkable domestic season. The fast-bowling all-rounder impressed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, picking up 15 wickets in seven matches at an economy rate under eight. His consistent performances across tournaments like the Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy established him as one of the most exciting uncapped Indian pacers in the auction pool.

Trusted by IPL Franchises

Auqib’s talent hasn’t gone unnoticed in IPL circles. He has previously served as a net bowler for Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad, and also had a trial with Mumbai Indians. Known for his ability to strike with the new ball and deliver under pressure at the death, he brings composure and pace in equal measure.

From the valleys of Jammu & Kashmir to the IPL spotlight, Auqib Nabi’s journey is nothing short of inspirational. Delhi Capitals’ bold investment reflects belief in raw Indian talent, and if he delivers on promise, this Rs 8.40 crore gamble could turn into a golden return.
