Abu Dhabi: Mumbai Indians (MI) won the toss and chose to bat against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 45th match of 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Sunday. With Hardik Pandya's unbeaten 60 runs, MI post a winning target of 196 runs for RR. MI scored 195 runs at loss of 5 wickets.
Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan were the openers for MI.
However, after hitting a six in the 4th ball of first over, Jofra Archer dismissed de Kock in the next ball.
After dismissal of de Kock, it was Suryakumar Yadav who stood beside Ishan. Both the MI batsmen had a good partnership and ended the powerplay with 59 runs on board. With the end of 10 overs, MI were 89/1.
In the 11th over, Kartik Tyagi dismissed Ishan breaking the good partnership. Ishan had scored 37 runs off 37 balls,
Next, it was S Yadav who departed in the 13th over. Shreyas Gopal dismissed him while the total score of MI was 93. Yadav could score 40 runs off 26 balls. In the same over, Kieron Pollard also departed scoring 6 runs. However, before departing, Pollard hit a six to take MI's score past 100.
Though, Saurabh Tiwary's contributed 34 runs to his team, Archer dismissed him in the 19th over.
However, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya stuck to the crease. Hardik scored 60 runs off 21 balls with 2 sixes in last balls of the innings. while Krunal could score only 3 runs.

Archer and Shreyas got 2 wickets each sparing 31 and 30 runs respectively. While kartik got one wicket sparing 45 runs in the innnings.
Kieron Pollard remains captain of the top ranked MI as they look to consolidate their lead.
MI ended any hopes for Chennai Super Kings to make it to the top four with an emphatic 10-wicket win over them in their previous match while RR lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets.
