IOA officials slams Clean Sports India

Ranchi: IOA Vice President Trilochan Singh on Saturday sought to know what is the contribution of `Clean Sports India` (CSI) in organising sports.

"What is its contribution to the sports? Why don`t they do some good work elsewhere," Singh said when asked about CSI`s demand for IOA President Suresh Kalmadi`s resignation following CWG scam.

"He (Kalmadi) is our President till 2012. And the IOA fully backs him," Singh added.

CSI is a newly floated forum by former internationals like hockey Olympian Pargat Singh and former athletics stars Ashwini Nachappa and Vandana Rao.

They demand Kalmadi`s resignation on moral grounds to roll out reforms in the country`s premier sporting body and other federations.

Kalmadi had yesterday said the IOA had plans of including former sports persons in sports organisations.

The Annual General Body meeting of the IOA held midway in Ranchi today, where the 34th National Games opens later in the evening.
