Abhishek has been in sensational form recently, playing a pivotal role in India’s Asia Cup triumph, where he was crowned Player of the Tournament. Known for his fearless approach and attacking mindset, the southpaw has earned a reputation as one of the most destructive batters in modern T20 cricket, capable of tearing apart any bowling attack with his raw power and confidence.

Approaching the 1000-run milestone in T20 Internationals, Abhishek currently boasts 849 runs from 24 matches at a remarkable strike rate of 196.07, which includes two centuries and five half-centuries. “He’s a gun T20 player. If he stays out there for a while, you’re guaranteed entertainment. Whether you’re Australian or Indian, you’ll enjoy watching him. He can take the game away from you quickly — you don’t want him at the crease for too long because he can create chaos,” Shastri said.

The former India coach also broke down the qualities that make Abhishek such a formidable T20 talent — his fearless mentality, unwavering self-belief, and wide array of attacking strokes.

“His preparation, confidence, and range of shots are exceptional. What stands out is his mindset — he backs himself from the very first ball. From the get-go, he’ll take on the bowlers. That’s what makes him so dangerous — explosive yet composed in his belief,” Shastri added.
