At least four government officers, including three PEOs, have been suspended for dereliction of duty and misbehaving with people by using harsh words. An investigation is underway to probe allegations against some officials, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Department Minister Suresh Pujari on Saturday.
“The government officers, who have served people, during the emergency situation will be praised and action will be taken against the violators,” said Minister Pujari.
According to Pujari, now the focus is on the rehabilitation of people and the process will start after conducting a survey today. Officers have been clearly instructed to ensure that the assessment is error-free.
The Minister further informed that preliminary assessment says several houses have been partially and fully damaged and agricultural land affected in 13 districts. The state also carried out the highest evacuation in the history, he said.

Budhabalanga On Watch
Even as a flash flood-like situation has cropped up in some parts of Odisha following heavy rainfall post-landfall of severe cyclonic storm Dana, the Odisha government on Saturday said that efforts are on to tackle any situation arising out of the emergency condition.
